CNN'S FAKE NEWS

Phnom Penh (Ah!) - THOSE INVOLVED IN THE SOMALY MAM SCAM

The Somaly Mam foundation scam ran deep as the Mam was also supported by Facebook's COO Sheryl Sandberg who was a Somaly Mam Foundation's Advisory Board member. The two are seen here at Fortune Magazine's 2011 Most Powerful Women Summit - Somaly Mam Foundation photo (edited)

WHERE'S THE MONEY?

Last December (2013) CNN went wild with their promotion of their anti child sex trafficking documentary Everyday in Cambodia that was hosted by actress Mira Sorvino. CNN then ran promotions of the show with one of the wildest statements that we have ever heard… THAT THEY WERE GOING TO PUT AN END TO THE CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING TRADE. This is an old project for Sorvino whom we reported on her involvement in an anti child sex trafficking series titled Human Trafficking in 2008.

Now anyone with half a brain and a minute bit of experience with Southeast Asia and what goes on in the sex trade knows that CNN is making claims out of their ass (excuse our English… but its true). The other most significant red herring is this is a theme that they trumpet every year as they send their trite, so called journalists troops, to Phnom Penh such as Anderson Cooper, Sarah Sidner and most famously their Rhinestone Rambo (RR) as we named him who fled town when his undercover raid on a brothel was discovered and he feared that everyone knew who and where he was.

We were extremely suspicious of CNN's intentions as being simply to boost their sagging ratings. Other than Sorvino actress Demi Moore was involved in a previous CNN anti child sex trafficking documentary in Nepal and when she returned to the USA her marriage to Ashton Kutcher fell apart and she wound up seeking problems for emotional distress.

CNN's Hero's program has been a big thing every Christmas season as it is a time for giving and it appears that the other purpose other than a ratings boost is for viewers to support CNN's pet NGO's. As a follow-up to CNN's over the top promotions of Every Day in Cambodia we searched the web prior to the Somaly Mam Foundation fraud disclosure in December 2013 to research just what they were all about.

The NGO's on their web site included numerous NGO's but we are listing only those that are in the Thailand and Cambodia which are most closely associated to CNN's Every Day in Cambodia program. Thailand is a country that has many Cambodian's in the sex trade business. From our research in December 2013 the NGO's that CNN promoted were:

Cambodia

- AFESIP Cambodia - http://www.afesip.org/ - Chab Dai - http://www.chabdai.org/home.html

- Child Rights Foundation - http://www.childrightsfound.org/index.php

- ECPAT Cambodia - http://www.ecpatcambodia.org/index.php

- Somaly Mam - http://www.somaly.org/

Thailand

- Not For Sale - http://www.notforsalecampaign.org/projects/thailand/

- DEPDC - http://www.depdc.org/ - ECPAT International

This year a strange development is that CNN is not trumpeting their bold going to stop the child sex business claims and are not promoting their Hero's program in Southeast Asia. This could be a result of their involvement with Somaly Mam in giving her a Hero's Award in 2006 that was eventually fouled up by journalists Simon Marks disclosure in May 2013 that the Somaly Mam Foundation was a fraud as published in the Cambodia Daily and Newsweek Magazine.

The Somaly Mam Foundation fraud exposed the worms in the anti child sex NGO industry which was also assisted by glory seeking media and government officials. With all of CNN's INTEL and their CIA super star Fran Townsend now a consultant to CNN and the CIA and CNN's other CIA resources they couldn't or failed to do their due diligence in vetting the Somaly Mam Foundation's false claims regarding her contrived stories in order to stimulate funding and perpetrate a fraud.

Mam's hoax was not only clever enough to be endorsed by television networks such as CNN but also by the US Government. The apparently previously not investigated Mam has received numerous honors and awards from those who were swept into the Somaly Mam hoax which include:

* Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation in the presence of Queen Sofia of Spain, 1998

* CNN Hero, 2006 * Glamour Woman of 2006

* Olympic flag bearer, 2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, Torino, Italy.

Honorary Doctor of Public Service from Regis University

* US State Department "Heroes of Anti-Trafficking" award

* World's Children's Prize for the Rights of the Child in Sweden for her "dangerous struggle" to defend the rights of children in Cambodia.

* Roland Berger Human Dignity Award 2008

* TIME magazine's 100 most influential people, with the accompanying article written by actress Angelina Jolie, 2009

* The Guardian Top 100 Women: Activists and Campaigners, 2011

* The Daily Beast Women in the World, 2011

* "Mimosa D'Oro"

* Festival du Scoop Prize, France

* Excmo Ayuntaniento de Galdar Concejalia de Servicio Sociale, Spain

* Glamour magazine named Somaly Mam "Woman of the Year" in 2006

While traveling in China in 2011 we came across an interesting television show in which the head of an NGO stated that the expenditures of his NGO were published on the Internet for the world to see. His statement raises a question; shouldn't that be a requirement of all NGO's? Questions we most raise are:

1. How are they spending the donated money?

2. How much of that is budgeted for salaries and administration?

3. What are the salaries of those managing the foundation?

4. Who or what NGO's receives the money?

5. For what purpose?

6. Why don't NGO's post their budget on the Internet and make their secret spending be available to the public?

7. Who or what are the REAL successful results of their work?

8. For every child saved what is the cost per thousand?

With the help of the CNN endorsement the Somaly Mam Foundation was deemed credible. Now that the foundation has been exposed CNN has deleted her listing from the Hero's honorees of 2006 as well as everyone else involved that year. In other words they have distanced themselves from their part in perpetrating a fraud. They also failed to report the Somaly Mam Foundation fraud while other news organizations did.

This is of no great surprise since CNN practices self censorship and prefers to promote Israel and starting World War 3 with whomever they can accuse of tyranny. Presently they are focused of North Korea and their accusations of a horrible crime… cyber crime, which former US presidential candidate John McCain calls an act of war. CNN gives McCain and the CIA an abundance of air time to relate their war mongering views but no air time to admit that they (CNN) made a mistake in supporting Somaly Mam.

Interesting enough, sponsors of the foundation on its then website included Hilton Worldwide, Estee Lauder Companies and Project Futures End Child Sex Trafficking. Mam was also supported by Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg who was a Somaly Mam Foundation board member.
