Entertainment Biz - Bruce Lee's Family Responds to Unauthorized ``Biopic'' - August 2006

Bruce Lee, photographed here in 1972, is still considered one of the world's most readily recognizable icons. Concord Moon LP, the partnership founded by his wife and daughter, controls the rights internationally to his name and image.

Bruce Lee's Family Opens Offices in Hong Kong and Beijing In Response to Unauthorized ``Biopic''

Concord Moon LP, the Los Angeles-based company of Shannon Lee (Bruce Lee's daughter) and Linda Lee (Bruce Lee's widow), which owns all rights to exploit Bruce Lee's name, likeness, trademarks and works, opened a new satellite office in Hong Kong on August 1, 2006.

"Concord Moon is in the process of opening another office in Beijing now," announced Managing Partner, Shannon Lee.

Linda Lee and Shannon Lee confirmed that these expansions into Asia have long been planned, but have been hastened by the confusion recently caused in China and Hong Kong about how to contact the true owners of the rights for Bruce Lee.

Steve Younger, partner at Myman Abell in Los Angeles and legal counsel for Concord Moon, noted that the recent announcement of a "Bruce Lee biopic" by Robert Lee (Bruce Lee's brother) and JA Media as being "authorized" by the "family" may have misled the public into believing that Bruce Lee's heirs, Linda Lee and Shannon Lee, were involved, which is not the case.

Other unauthorized "Bruce Lee" projects in China that have not been endorsed by and do not have the support of Bruce Lee's wife and daughter include a chain of fast food restaurants and a theme park purportedly planned for Shunde, China.

"We are expanding with offices in Hong Kong and Beijing to make it easier for creative people and companies to contact Concord Moon to discuss innovative projects that promote my father's work and legacy. My father was very particular about every aspect of his life's work, and so Concord Moon is too!" Shannon Lee stated.

She added, "We're really excited about having a clear channel of communication with potential business partners and working together to honor my father as the multicultural icon he has become."

In addition to the new offices, Concord Moon is announcing a development slate of fully endorsed and authorized Bruce Lee entertainment projects, which include an animated television series, a CGI movie, an animated feature, a live action television series, and a Broadway musical.

Shannon and Linda are also working to open the first Official Bruce Lee Museum through their nonprofit organization, the Bruce Lee Foundation (www.bruceleefoundation.org).

Official branches of the Bruce Lee Museum in locations throughout the world are already in development.
