Cambodian children are sold into prostitution by their parents. Some NGO's are doing something about it by creating a business and others teach and provide jobs. Other NGO's raise millions of dollars in donor money and.... just talk about it. OPERATION SMILE GIVES WITHOUT ASKING - COMING... INNOCENCE LOST - (NR Photo)

CNN GETS IT WRONG

CNN takes the lead attracting interest from our readers and hopefully the NSA sleaze. The primary focus is the relationship of CNN and the US government's support of Israel and their invading murdering ways. Those revelations came to light via television coverage earning that category to take six of this month's NR TOP 10 positions.

One can learn a lot from watching CNN and what they present as NEWS but in reality is simply propaganda that casts the invasive US government and Israel in a positive light. Most of their reports are accentuated with the presenters (we dare not call them reporters) OPINIONS as if one could give a F. One of the reasons being is that many of the investigative reports on the CON (Cable Opinion Network) Network are from those who were or are CIA and have supposedly retires from the agency. Common sense will dictate that once CIA always CIA as it's like a cancer that one can't rid themselves of.

This month was a banner month for CON net as they presented an UNLAWFUL (according to a Cambodian law) UNDERCOVER INVESTIGATIVE report titles 'Every Day In Cambodia' featuring actress Mira Sorvino. As usual once again the subject matter was the child sex industry in the country. In the past CNN was bold enough to state that they were going to STOP the illicit trade only to later to recant their statement using a more delicate approach as they know well enough that they can't do anything about it EXCEPT use this tragic situation as a TOOL to do another SENSATIONALIZED story on the subject to BOOST THEIR RATINGS. They are not reporting the problem they ARE A PART OF THE PROBLEM. CNN does more to promote child sex tourism than it does to eradicate it.

The puzzling thing about CNN's coverage is that they focus on Cambodia's sex trade problem and IGNORE the political issue when the people revolt what they believed to be fixed results from the elections that retained Hun Sen as Prime Minister.

Ironically, in Thailand CNN has televised extensive coverage on the same topic regarding the revolt against their Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. CNN appears to maintain a delicate balance in not to wanting to $#!t where they eat since their network is swamped with ads promoting tourism in Cambodia furnished with MONEY from the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism.

In Every Day in Cambodia Sorvino brought up the point that high up Cambodian government officials support and benefit from the child sex trade yet she and CNN failed to follow up and explore one of the root causes of the child sex trade in that country. Without a doubt CNN presents shoddy, biased sensationalized (so called) reporting.

While CNN is busy exploiting other topics and appear to be trying to start World War 3 American Bill Herod has been busy helping Cambodian people by teaching them to learn and develop their skills in the Internet Technology field. Many of his students took his teachings and progress to well paying jobs with NGO's and private companies.

We focused on Herod's contributions to the Cambodia society in last months Phnom Penh column that ranks # 3 on this month's NR TOP 10 ratings and # 7 on our NR TOP 12 Phnom Penh GREATEST IMPACT columns list.

Herod is the individual that brought the Internet to Cambodia with Canadian funding enabling Khmer children to learn and become more aware of what is going on in the world as well as make friends abroad. Ironically his efforts have given NGO's the tool that enables them to beg for donor funding that permits them to live a colonialist lifestyle while doing nothing to little about the cause that they raise money for. For the most part the MONEY goes into their pockets and the intended recipients continue to suffer.

ARCHIVES

There is a trend where for some strange reason stories dating back 35 years are being researched. Page 4 of a SelecTV news letter has been drawing major attention. SelecTV is the first Pay Per View channel founded by Bob Block. That company had major talent and ideas including Bill Mechanic who went on to become the president of 20th Century Fox Films and was responsible for the release of the heralded film the Titanic.

Page 1 of an 8 page feature on former NBA star Magic Johnson also gained a lot of attention. The strange thing is it is published in the French language. Another French language article also raced up the Archive charts with former NBA International star Toni Kukoc being the subject. Kukoc was signed by the Chicago Bulls to a larger contract than Michael Jordan. When Jordan made his first retirement to pursue a baseball career Kukoc and Scotty Pippen were the Bulls stars fro two years but failed to win an NBA championship during Jordan's absence. When Jordan returned the Bulls went on to another three-peat championship run.

TOP 5 PRESS RELEASES

Jim Murray topped the most read press releases. Due to NSA and Yahoo problems this release was late in publishing but still generated interest. The now deceased Pulitzer winning journalist's widow started a scholarship fund for journalists. He was honored by the Los Angeles Dodgers major league baseball team.

Business took three of the five available spots in this category. Murray was followed by 2. Business & Travel - Hyatt Regency to Open in Phuket, 3. Business - Sprint Waives Fees for U.S. Calls and Text Messaging to the Philippines, 4. ENTERTAINMENT BIZ - Star Trek's William Shatner To Perform His New Album and 5. FIFA NEWS: FIFA Puskás Award: Ten best goals of the year announced.
