THE NR BEAT GOES ON

As the song goes this months NR TOP 10 rocks steady. Four of the top five columns in the rankings held their positions. The Sports Notes column featuring Dusty Baker holds down the top spot.

Sports content took five of the 10 positions in the rankings. Feature stories took three places in the rankings and politics notched two. One of those is a repeat column of an NR TOP 10 that includes 14 storis that mysteriously disappeared or were corrupted on our site. It was noticed long after it occurred. The key subject was Hillary Clinton who was the final two Democratic candidates, the other being Barak Obama.

Till this day what caused the problem has yet to be found. Conspiracy theories have been mentioned but not resolved.

Other returning sports related content include: ALL TIME NBA 1st TEAM - BREAKING IT DOWN that retains third place and Racist Radio retains 4th. Racist Radio has been a constant on the charts since it was first published in 1998. If it failed to make the TOP 10 it most definitely was in the TOP 25.

The reason why can be justified that the topic continues to be in the headlines and most likely will never go away. Another aspect is it relates to baseball and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Another aside wad the then owner of the club was Rupert Murdoch the founder of Fox Television. That companies News Division has been a topic of conversation regarding the sex scandal involving the then head of the News Division imposing se for job promotions.

With all of those ingredients the story has many facets to it that can be interesting to apparently many readers. It also hits home to the quality of reporting that is presented today. As many senior journalists have expressed including Seymore Hersh, that the quality of reporting today is lacking i.e., it isn't what it used to be.

Former UCLA and NBA basketball player story: REMEMBERING THE NBA'S WALT HAZZARD moved up the charts from 9th to 6th. Being that it is NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) tournament time make it a timely topic.

Hazzard was the MOP (Most Outstanding Player) of the 1964 tournament. It was the first title that then coach John Wooden achieved.

Wooden went on to coach and win the title a record 10 times including a record seven in a row. It is safe to say that is a record that will never be broken. Our feature on Wooden ranks 8th.

Wooden started coaching at UCLA in 1948 and retired after the 1974-75 season at the retirement age of 65.

Other coaches that can't come close to his record have continued coaching into their 70's. We researched this but can't locate the column that references this at this time. If our faulty memories recall the closet a coach came to his record is winning four or five titles prior to their retirement.

NBA Trivia - The Philly [Philadelphia] Connection logged the 10th spot. This is another column that has staying power. For a majority of the time, it has been in the in the TOP 25 since its launch in 2001… yes before Google got its wings.

In a strange way there are a number of columns that have maintained staying power. Two of which are our columns of Dr. Beat Richner who built hospitals for free health care Cambodian children. Our first story published in 2002 titled "Dr. Beat" - Free Health Care for Cambodian Children was and continues to be very popular.

The focus of that column was Dr. Beat's steps in accomplishing his goal. In 1992 Richner started with 12 expatriate and 62 Cambodian staff. The hospitals currently employ two expatriate and 1250 Cambodian staff. Dr. Richner's huge task is overwhelming.

The plight of the sick in Cambodia is strong. Many Cambodian families have lost their land to pay off medical expenses. His hospitals in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap treat 2,000 outpatients per location a day and over four million patients per year FOR FREE.

When I went to one of his hospitals in Phnom Penh the first thing that came to my mind was, I've interviewed some of the most famous entertainers and sports figures in the world of all time but… after seeing that crowd of families with children waiting for health care at Cambodia's Kantha Bopha hospital, I knew this interview with the hospitals founder Dr. Beat Richner was going to be a something special in a category that I had never done.

Our second story on Richner was after he passed away in 2018 titled DR. BEAT RICHNER REMEMBERED is the current most viewed. Ironically both stories noted in the sub title HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR THIS. That is exactly what happened.

The link to the first story if in the second column.

As we understand, Richner had planned to retire before changing his mind and continuing to commit his life to saving the lives of Cambodian children. Richner said if parents could afford to pay something they did. As we observed some parents of means took advantage of this policy. Some could have paid but did not. We know because we were renting from parents that had the means to pay.

Of political or war related content in relating a film to the current conflict in the Ukraine title LORD OF WAR = CURRENT UKRAINE CRISIS. That story dropped five positions from 2nd to 7th. The content relates to what is currently occurring the sale of arms for war to slaughter thousands of Ukrainian and Russian citizens.

The primary suppliers, the US and the colonialist nations France and Britain are exercising their power to dominate and humble the world. WAR means money and this film is loosely based on real life experiences of Viktor Bout. It reveals how crooked governments are in the thirst for world dominance and money over the lives of their citizens. That is the perfect segue to a recent article that questions titled US Government = THE SCUM of THE EARTH?

It's an opinion piece that notes every time the government doesn't have enough money to pay their bills, they talk about eliminating Medicare or Social Security. This is the money that is taken out of every person working a legal job in America. The checks designate the amount taken out of their pay for each service. There is NO BOX on a check that says… FOR WAR or THE UKRAINE. It all comes down to nothing is considered about… WE THE PEOPLE.

A year into this nonsense some taxpayers are opening their eyes to how their money is spent and what their governments priorities are. The reality is its war over the US taxpayer. The government is diverting money for their self interests and not the interests of their people. This is a salty column that resulted in some strange reactions directed at us. in any case our fight will continue.

We retained a section for columns that have had strong interest over the years since we launched in April 1997. We also are noting the RT stories that we publish with their consent that attracts readers. We believe in free speech and it is fair to listen to ALL SIDES before making a judgement.

The subject matter of the two top RT stories is, Seymour Hersh evaluates state of journalism. Many understand they are not getting the kind of reporting that they should, the Pulitzer Prize winner has claimed.

The other RT article of interest is, US launches airstrikes in Syria - The Pentagon has said Iran-affiliated groups were targeted, while local sources claim civilian infrastructure was hit.

The information and links to these stories are at the very bottom of this NR TOP 10 ratings chart.

For now the ship is steady the hope is governments will stop making wars to cull the worlds population. John Lennon said it best MAKE LOVE NOT WAR.

Sports Notes - ALL TIME NBA 1st TEAM - BREAKING IT DOWN - June, 2020
Our all time NBA 1st team involves the player that rocked the league, Bill Russell who Red Auerbach coached with the Boston Celtics. Russell was acquired in a trade with the then St Louis Hawks (now Atlanta). The Celtics gave up two highly productive white players, Cliff Hagen and Ed MacCauley in the 1956 NBA draft. One has to take into consideration how racist the United States at the time and remains so BUT... Auerbach took a bold chance with the Russell acquisition. Boston fans showed their appreciation by breaking into Russell's home and defecating in his bed.... - THIS DAY IN THE NBA

Sports Notes EXTRA - REMEMBERING THE NBA'S WALT HAZZARD - December, 2011 - December, 2011
THE PHILADELPHIA CONNECTION - It was a day of the changing of the guard. Hazzard's Overbrook teammate and best friend Wally (Wali) Jones played the first half with Brook. The second half he played with our Temple Prep team. Jones graduated from high school at mid season enabling him to make the transfer. After that game and graduation he joined our squad. Hazzard and Jones were very close friends and both went on to have successful 10-year NBA careers

Previous -POV 12 - (Point of View) - ISRAEL… THE BABY KILLERS - August, 2014
THE ISRAELI BARBARIANS EMOTIONLESS SLAUGHTER - It's alarming how main stream western media controls the thinking of its viewers or readers. ON TV, Israel claims that it has the right to defend their borders (that they stole from Palestine in 1948). Since that time they have created Gaza which is recognized by many as the world's largest prison. It is surrounded by Israeli built walls and patrolled by air and water by Israel's Air force and navy. TV comments supporting Israel are for the most part from American Jews talking on largely Jewish managed or owned news networks who have a family link to the Israeli occupation while in the process they support Israel's' apartheid practices and their murders of babies and children. The truth is carefully avoided in main stream western media

Previous -TRAVEL TIPS - Thailand - Cambodia - BEWARE OF THAILAND'S SONGKRAN - April, 2019
During Songkran people roam the streets with containers of water or high powered water guns and powder, or post themselves at the side of roads with a garden hose and drench each other and passersby. Water from the canals is often used. The canals are Bangkok's sewers. The powder thrown combined with the water creates a chalk like film that can cause damage to your belongings. Your watch that MAY BE water proof but is your cell phone, I-Pad, computer or camera?
