AMERICAN IDOL'S CHAOS IN MOTION adds GLEE

Jessica Sanchez finished 2nd this past season to Phillip Phillips on American Idol but her future may include being in the cast of Glee

Now that American Idol is digesting its thoughts in choosing another judge or two Glee is moving onward and upward. Word has it that Jessica Sanchez is in talks regarding joining the show. The question is we know she can sing but Glee requires a well rounded talent that can also act and dance. Should Sanchez qualify for Glee that would be a major step up for her career.

Glee's creator Ryan Murphy repeatedly complains on the Glee Project how important it is to choose a talent that they can write for to include them in their current cast. That would be a no brainer in writing a role for Sanchez as she is currently a high school student and only 16-years of age.

Her experience of finishing 2nd on American Idol could be incorporated into the script as a loved or detested student. The love or contempt would have been brought about because of her accomplishments. Whatever the result Glee must be complimented for considering Sanchez for the program.

One mystery remains that being why Charice has been ignored for the program. She had been interviewed on television stating that she doesn't know why she hasn't been invited back as a regular cast member but would love to do it. Her previous appearance indicated that she can act. The rumor is that Glee's star Lea Michelle is jealous of Charice's talent and doesn't want her on the show.

Charice did comment that Glee star Naya Rivera who is known for her role in the musical comedy television series as cheerleader Santana that Lopez was the most friendly towards her of all of the Glee cast. Charice said that Rivera took the time to search her background on the Internet and knew all about her background before she appeared on the show. Charice said that Rivera was super friendly.

MORE GLEE & RIVERA

Rivera was raised in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California and has lived in or around Los Angeles for most of her life. Rivera is of half Puerto Rican, quarter African American, and quarter German descent. At eight or nine months old, she began to be represented by the same talent agent as her mother, who had moved to Los Angeles to pursue modeling.

As on Glee, Rivera is best friends in real life with co-star Heather Morris. Rivera's brother, Mychal, plays tight end for the University of Tennessee. Her sister, Nickayla, is a model.

In 2010, Rivera made the Maxim Hot 100 list, coming in at number 61. The following year, she was ranked number 43. On the 2011 AfterEllen 'Hot 100 list' she was ranked #1.

In April of 2012, Rivera was featured on the cover of Latina magazine. The following month she was also featured in the inaugural issue of Cosmo for Latinas, and was selected by People en Espanol for their 50 Most Beautiful list. Also in May, Rivera made FHM's 100 Sexiest Women List, coming in at number 39, and made the Maxim Hot 100 list for the third year in a row, moving up sixteen spots to number 27. On the 2012 AfterEllen 'Hot 100 list' she was again ranked #1.

THE AMERICAN IDOL JENNIFER LOPEZ SAGA

The departure of Jennifer Lopez as a judge on American Idol is a step up with the hiring of Mariah Carey. The buzz now is that there is talk of Nicki Minaj being considered as a judge and Carey is not happy about that. Carey was under the impression that she would be the only female on the judging panel.

The other go figure Idol thinking is they are considering having two YOUNG male judges on the panel and Randy Jackson would be moved to another position. The show wants to go young and having knowledge and experience is a low priority. Nick Jonas, Pharrell Williams, Brad Paisley, and Enrique Iglesias have been mentioned as possible hires. Of those choice Paisley sounds reasonable but Jonas fits the younger target audience the show is trying to appeal to.

Rumor has it that Idol is considering having four judges on the panel with two males and two females. You would think that they have learned from their past mistakes as that decision was one of the first downward turning points they made during the Simon Cowell era that prompted its drop in the ratings.

When Kara DioGuardi became the fourth judge there was a verbal clutter problem with four judges giving their lengthy critiques causing friction. The judges began to compete with each other for equal time to speak. Cowell was the winner as he usually had the last caustic word.

A fourth judge results in more camera time for them and less time for the contestants performances. . It is safe to say the majority of the television viewers tune in to see the contestants perform and not to hear a lot of hot air from judges.

On several occasions the due to the excess judge's chatter the show would go overtime and there was a panic near the end of the program to speed up their comments. Eventually they went to where only three of the four judges would critique a contestant on a rotating basis. The result with the powers that be current thinking is… OHHH PLEASE!

Should Idol repeat this four judge blunder perhaps a 30 second time click should be put in place. If a judge talks over for say 32 seconds then they would have only 28 seconds on their next round. Just a thought since somebody has to do it.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's new program Q' Viva! is a dud. The tension between the two is obvious. They are traveling separately and in the first episode Anthony has been regulated to travel by auto while Lopez flies in a private jet.

The talent is mostly dance as the objective is to produce a Las Vegas show featuring Latino talent. Having to translate the talents comments during their auditions slows the program down and having to read the subtitles can be a distraction from their facial expressions and talent. Basically the show on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best this is a 1.

Shortly after Lopez gave her notice that she would not return to be a judge on Idol Yahoo reported that AskMen's fifth annual Great Male Survey listed Lopez as being ranked 3rd as the female they are most tired of hearing about. She trailed Kim Kardashian who rocked the charts with 62% of the votes. Surprisingly Nicki Minaj who is said to be on Idol's short list to be a judge for next season notched 18% of the votes while J. Lo racked up 9%.
