HERO 2 SOME - CRIMINAL 2 the US GOV

Edward Snowden is back in the news via two documentaries currently airing on television. This weekend RT News (Ruptly Television) has been airing since Friday August 7th a two part documentary titled Terminal F. The most interesting and hard to find documentary on Snowden titled Citizenfour, we accidentally came across while channel chasing to a BOOTLEG channel which has no name.

Snowden is a former CIA employee, and government contractor who leaked classified information from the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) in 2013. The information revealed numerous global surveillance programs, many run by the NSA and the Five Eyes with the cooperation of telecommunication companies and European governments.

Snowden's was hired by Booz Allen Hamilton, an NSA contractor, in 2013 after previous employment with Dell and the CIA. On May 20, 2013, Snowden flew to Hong Kong after leaving his job at a NSA facility in Hawaii and in early June he revealed thousands of classified NSA documents to journalists Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras. Since that time he has been on the run from the US government and is presently in Russia on an asylum status.

Citizenfour is 114 minutes long and shows in real time Snowden's interviews in his then Hong Kong hotel room with the two Guardian journalists that Snowden gave the NSA's telephone and Internet surveillance program. Since this documentary was shot while he was revealing the NASA's dirty business makes this the more interesting of the two documentaries.

Since RT'S Terminal F is being televised so often this week we'll spotlight that first regarding what its about in hope that you can avail yourself of the video while its still being televised. The documentary, made by German investigative journalist John Goetz and Danish documentary filmmaker Poul-Erik Heilbuth, tells Snowden’s story from the moment he left the US for Hong Kong to his arrival to Terminal F at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport in 2013.

The first half of Terminal F is a recap of the events of Snowmen's revealing the information to Guardian journalists Wen MacAskill and Glenn Greenwald. The video follows how they interviewed him in his Hong Kong hotel room and wrote their first two columns regarding Snowden's revelations without revealing his identity.

Many of Snowden's comments divulge how disgusted he was with Michael Hayden the former Director of the National Security Agency, Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and how Hayden disregarded the privacy of American citizens. He noted that Hayden and the US government were making decisions that departed from the rule of law.

"What kind of man is this," Snowden remarked.

Following the first two columns being released without revealing his identity, Snowden then requested that his identity be disclosed which resulted in a blitz of media attention and investigations to search out his location.

A female Asian journalist's searched Google Maps for a viewpoint of a bridge with the perspective from Snowden's hotel window, that was posted on line revealed his location. She figured out the angle and setting and the media rush to the hotel was on.

Snowden's phone then began to ring constantly prompting him to depart his hotel room and go into hiding with the help his supporters in Hong Kong. He then contacted WikiLeaks for help. Julian Assange is depicted in the doc regarding his concern for Snowden and felt that he would be gobbled up and arrested by the US government and treated harshly in the same manner as they did whistle blower Bradley (Chelsea) Manning.

WikiLeaks then assigned 34-year-old Sarah Harrison, who is a British journalist, legal researcher, and WikiLeaks section editor to go to Hong Kong and help Snowden to freedom. This is where the documentary gets interesting and where the first thirty minutes of the documentary ends.

We've seen this documentary several times during the past two days and after the first half RT shifts away from the doc to the news or other programming. The first time we saw it the second part was televised following 30 minutes of news. On other occasions they went to other programming and the 2nd half was delayed. It's the second half featuring Harrison that we found the most interesting of this Edward Snowden puzzle.

One comment Harrison made that stands out is she had no idea that when she got involved that she would be with Snowden for the next FOUR MONTHS. An extremely nervous Snowden was later to comment in part two that he didn't think that WikiLeaks would send him a NINJA.

This is a MUST WATCH thus turn on the RT News ASAP and monitor their programming and avail yourself of this very interesting program.
