AI REPEATS

Well if you didn't get enough of last season's American Idol you have a chance through the holiday season to get a belly full as the Star World Network will air a repeat of the season that had a few surprises. The most dramatic change being the addition of a fourth judge Kara DioGuardi who was formerly a house guest of Paula Abdul who after she suggested to DioGuardi move to Hollywood and try her luck in show biz. As we now know Abdul has been dropped from the show and DioGuardi remains.

In the promos for the upcoming season DioGuardi states that there will be a new judge. The question is does that mean her or another new fourth judge which Mr. conceited megalomaniac Simon Cowell hates. In the promos Cowell asks did we miss him. Well that's up to you.

The interesting thing about last season was there will be replays of the audition stages where there are some very interesting AI applicants and comedic moments. One of the season highlights was Katrina Darrell aka the Bikini Girl who rocked the AI world with her in your face responses to criticism of her talent and shapely body. She took on DioGuardi noting that she didn't think the AI judge had such a great singing voice to be criticizing her and demonstrating to Darrell how the song should be sung. After the smitten male judges Cowell and Randy Jackson voted her through to the Hollywood auditions and Darrell was walking towards the exit door DioGuardi remarked to the scantily clad Bikini Girl, "Next time come naked."

They later had a face/body off in the AI final in which DioGuardi stripped from behind her robe to show off her body which was OK but not in the class of the notorious and muscle toned Bikini Girl.

The early stages of the auditions produced some decent singers who could have faired well in the regular competition but failed to make to cut. The bottom line is if you want to have some laughs the program will air Monday through Friday at 6 PM Singapore/Hong Kong time and 5 PM Cambodia/Thailand time.

But think about it…. DID YOU MISS HIM???

LOCKED UP ABROAD

An interesting program on the National Geographic Network is Locked Up Abroad. Each week a different story is told about a foreigner being locked up in a foreign jail and suffering abuse. Countries depicted in the program include Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Ecuador, Indonesia, India and Jamaica.

The game is the same that being the trafficking of drugs which is resulting from need greed or simply stupidity. In many cases all of the foreigner's problems can go away by paying a substantial sum of money to the police.

The Indonesian case stands out as being the most memorable. An Australian man visited the country with his wife. They ran into a foreigner they had previously met in another country who was an exporter of antiques. The Australian was later accused of smuggling hash in a statue. He didn't do it. After a test to prove he was guilty turned out that he wasn't he was informed by his lawyer that the police wouldn't change the charge because they would lose face.

He was later told that his problems could go away for $40,000. He couldn't come up with the money. He was physically attacked by a prison gang and lost his eye and had damage to his internal organs. After serving his jail term he discovered his wife had left him for another man.

All but one of the stories thus far have involved drug trafficking. All of the individuals depicted on the program who were guilty got involved in trafficking for the money.

Locked Up Abroad airs Monday nights on the National Geographic Network. Please note the schedule below or check your local listing for the time in your area.

NOTE:

Due to the Christmas holiday season several programs have been replaced with Christmas theme related programming. Should some of the programs listed in our schedule below are not airing during this period the schedule should return to normal after the holiday season which includes the International New Years celebrations.

CNBC LOST THE PLOT?

CNBC lost the plot again - Surprise, surprise there was an AIG sighting on CNBC WE WONDER WHY - After our report that CNBC has for some strange reason not regularly reported on AIG nor have the stock on their ticker since the meteoric rise of the stock from 6 to the mid 40's raised some questions beginning with WHY NOT?

Since that time the stock appeared on their ticker as the stock DROPPED to the mid 30's. Later it did appear again when it was on its way up at 38. The question remains how much AIG stock do those involved with CNBC have in their portfolios and why the report on AIG such a secret when it was such a big story when the market crashed?
