FROM DEATH DO US PART

The report of Whitney Houston's death prompted a media feeding frenzy that was primarily digging for dirt as to the reasons WHY. Videos of her actions and behavior are being scrutinized by authorities. Interviews with those who were around her days prior to her death have preferred to circle their wagons and protect her image. Now the medical reports of her exam are expected to be stepped up and be completed within 4-6 weeks which leaves a lot of room for continued speculation.

The images of Houston days before her death show a woman looking out of sorts being escorted out of a nightclub apparently in a drunken state. It was reported that she had a fight in the club before departing. Videos showed a liquid flowing down her leg which was identified as being blood or wine. Mixed reports of the cause of her death include drowning in a bathtub after taking a drug that relaxed her so much she slumped into the tub's water and drowned.

Houston's despondency from losing her voice was mentioned as being the leading cause of her dependency on prescription drugs and alcohol. Her voice was her instrument and when she lost it... she lost the plot.

She (Houston) had no voice, she had one note and one register," said her voice coach Gary Cantona on CNN's Up Front with Erin Burnett program on CNN this week. He also pointed out how thin she was and didn't look well.

Cantona also appeared on Anderson Cooper's 360 and stated, "She had a voice that could de everything."

In 2010 Houston failed miserably on a tour and eventually returned home fretting her situation and fan dissatisfaction.

On a news feature following her death illustrated Australian fans who bought tickets to her concert complaining after the show that she was terrible. They made comments to the media that she shouldn't have bothered to come.

Cantona appeared on Anderson Cooper's 360 shows and addressed that experience claiming that he worked with her and helped her recover 75% of her voice. He noted that if he could have worked with her regularly for a three month period that he could have restored 95% of her voice.

He added that she was a very demanding person who lost her voice via bad lifestyle choices. "To her voice was everything," he declared.

Without question fans love Houston's voice. Within seven days of her death CNN reported an amazing statistic that sales of her recording I Will Always Love You exploded and increased 6,723%.

The day that Houston was pronounced dead celebrities were filing into the Beverly Hilton Hotel where she passed away just a few minutes after the untimely event. Actor Peter Fonda who has a history of battling drug addiction said as he was entering the Hilton for Clive Davis' pre Grammy Awards party pointed out that people were trying to help her and, "She was a train wreck waiting to happen."

As usual CNN went wild with their style of sensationalized reports of tragedies. For the Houston story it starts with their programming schedule beginning with Anderson Cooper's 360 report followed by Piers Morgan's scandalous interviews to Up front with Erin Burnett's show. Three hours of scrutinizing Houston's life and controversial past goes on and on and on.

The good news is that the time dedicated for their investigative reports and commentary on Houston doesn't compare to the time they devoted to the coverage of Michael Jackson's death. Dr. Drew Pinskey who is half doctor and half celebrity via hosting his own TV show was a guest on the Cooper's 360 and Morgan programs for two consecutive days after Houston's death.

Pinskey went ballistic on the second day appearance emphasizing the dangers of mixing prescription drugs and alcohol noting that it was a cocktail for death and Houston was the example.

Grammy Award wining singer and Houston's friend Lionel Richie said on the day of her death when entering the Clive Davis pre Grammy party that Houston became despondent when she lost her voice and was dealing with the pressures of fame as well as balancing that with her (turbulent) personal life.

On Morgan's Monday telecast Houston's friend singer Chaka Khan said that she backed out of doing a tribute to Whitney on the Grammy Awards and hour prior to the telecast. She thought it was appropriate to sing I'm Every Woman at a time like this.

Khan also has a history of drug abuse and Houston recorded her song I'm Every Woman written by Valerie Simpson and made it a hit.

Khan said of her drug problem, "I had problems smoking and drinking back in the 80's (and lost her voice)." She then had operation to remove polyps from her vocal chords and got her voice back. She also pointed out the music industry, "Is such a demonic thing it sacrifices (people), I know what this business can do to someone."

Simpson appeared on Morgan's show later in the week and questioned why the media was "in such a rush," to report negative stories about Houston's life with drugs before the autopsy was completed. She accused the media of making up stories before the coroner had made its report.

Celine Dion also considered to have one of the greatest voices of all time was stunned from the news of Houston's death said on 360, "What happens' when you have everything, when you have the support of your family, fans and everything? I don't understand! You have a responsibility as a mother."
