WORLD CUP IS A WINNER

At this time of the year it is a low season for television programming. During this period in the US the networks air test programs to see if they can cut the mustard of drawing a viewing audience large enough to warrant a commitment of ordering the show to continue and produce further episodes for the fall or winter season.

Given the shortage good programming is in short supply and to be picked up to continue. The result being a television viewer must search and seek decent programs worthy of their TV viewing time. This year sports fans are fortunate to have a superb World Cup from Brazil and their young star Neymar taking center stage. The event has attracted billions of viewers from around the world but for those who aren't sports fans good programming is in short supply.

Luckily this World Cup is delivering one of the most exciting competitions ever with major and surprise performances from Columbia, Costa Rica, Belgium and the USA. There are goals galore with aggressive play being featured. Up to this point in heading into the semifinals the major story is the bite of Luis Suarez and the injury to Neymar.

For certain Suarez is out but there are rumors that Neymar might return to play in the final should Brazil defeat Germany in their semifinal match. That speculation continues to heighten the interest in the competition which has four of the best teams remaining in the event including Argentina and the Netherlands.

Given FIFA's four month suspension given to Suarez for biting it seems fitting that there should be a similar penalty for a apparent intentional injury to Neymar by Colombia defender Juan Zuniga towards the end of the 2-1 win that put the hosts in the semifinals. This type of injury could have a major negative impact on the health and career of one of international footballs hottest rising stars who was touted to become one of the greatest players ever.

Suspended Brazil captain Thiago Silva defended the Colombia midfielder by stating: "Zuniga does not have any nastiness in him. I know him from Serie A." But he added: "What he did, I think, was rash."

Former Brazil standout and 2002 World Cup star Ronaldo has a different opinion and feels that the knee to Neymar's back was intentional and harm was intended.

While World Cup play on the pitch continues to command interest so does the drama of the back story of the now departed players Suarez and Neymar. The bottom line is TV viewers have something worthy of their interest and TV VIEWING TIME.

MAIN STREAM Western MEDIA PROMOTE ISRAEL IGNORES ARAB POINT OF VIEW

A significant non report by Western main stream media is how they are focusing on the murder of three Israeli teenagers. What they ignored was the murder of a 15-year-old Palestinian boy by Israeli military just a few days prior to the Israeli teens being reported missing. The obvious connection is the 3 Israeli teens could be a retaliation result of the non report on the Palestinian teen that was murdered. The Palestinian teen's crime was THROWING STONES AT THE ISRAELI SOLDIERS.

A strange quirk of fate is many of the reports emanating from Israel on the Israeli teen deaths story have been reported by CNN's Ben Wedemen who is Jewish and has previously lived in Israel. It's obvious that there is only one point of view with a Jew reporting on the ongoing Israeli/Palestine conflict. A few days of Wedemen reporting on the topic was he was shot in the head by a rubber bullet from an Israeli soldier.

What compounds the misinformation is an Israeli activist who is opposed to the conflict and defends the Palestinians related as a guest on RT News that Israeli soldiers have killed an average of one Palestinian every three days for the past 13 years.

VANITY NEWS COVERAGE

RT is experiencing its own growth problems in their growth by mirroring the theatrical style of main stream Western media. Aside from that they do present another point of view that is a balance to the US/Israel propaganda that Western media portray.

There is an alarming trend in VANITY NEWS COVERAGE with the emergence of supposed journalists doing frequent stand-ups and commentary with their faced on camera in an emotional theatrical manner as opposed to a straight forward report of what is actually happening. RT NEWS is the biggest surprise in their turnabout from being the best at straight forward reporting to joining FOX and CNN NEWS in over the top theatrical so called journalism. The current trend is IT'S ABOUT THEM (the presenter) and NOT ABOUT THE NEWS.

RT has undergone numerous changes since we reported how great we thought they were at the time with our focus on then news presenter Karen Terrarachi who has since departed. One of their most annoying current reporters is Maria Finoshina who has a promo of how brave she is as she exclaims on camera that she doesn't need a gun that her microphone was her gun. That type of bold statement puts her in the limelight as a target. Apparently she isn't aware that the bad guys watch TV too as well as making postings on Facebook and You Tube.

RT has had some bad experiences during the conflict in the Ukraine as one of their cameramen was shot in the stomach. He being Russian wasn't granted permission by the Ukraine government to exit the country and return to Russia for treatment.

Later the brave Finoshina was seen on camera reporting how one of her colleagues, another cameraman, was killed when Ukraine soldiers shot at a bus carrying RT journalists. The reporter wasn't as bold as she was in her previous microphone vs. gun statement. Her act was totally toned down. Apparently she is realizing that putting herself in the spotlight and becoming a target is not such a good idea. Hopefully their will be more of a focus on reporting the news and not making self indulgent reports featuring themselves and how brave they are.

Another negative RT presentation is a feature show about a behind the scenes report of how they go about presenting the news. In this show the most annoying was a massive egotistical self indulgent feature report by Thabang Motsei. She went overboard with her self indulgent girlish nonsensical chatter. Being black Motsei stands out on RT. Ironically she is anchoring the news desk. In that role in our opinion she is RTs' best news anchor.

RT presenter Oksana Boyko has been the rudest interviewer of all time. She repeatedly interrupts talks over and argues with her guests to make her point while not listening to the replies to her questions. It's as if her agenda is more important than obtaining information and a perspective from her guests regarding a particular topic. She has been challenged and called out by some of her guests who make her aware of how rude she is. Most recently Boyko is listening more and interrupting and arguing less.

RT News makes some good points but the message could be lost with their move towards implementing their theatrical presentations.

CNN has its own theatrical megalomaniac in Arwa Damon. She is all about her in the reports she does in as they present it dangerous conflict situations. She makes very strident statements in her reports and in doing so has far too much on camera time as do most of CNN's Israeli biased reporters.
