CHRISTIAN BALE (aka BATMAN)

From the first time we saw then 13-year-old Christian Bale starring in Empire of the Sun we thought he was a great actor as his performance was fascinating. He matured and continued to hone his craft that culminated in winning for Best Supporting Actor, the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in the Fighter.

Highlights in his career include in 2000, gaining critical acclaim for his portrayal of serial killer Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. He earned a reputation as a method actor after he lost 63 pounds to play the role of Trevor Reznik in the 2004 film The Machinist. Bale went on to receive greater commercial recognition and acclaim for his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012.

The now 39-year-old Bales story will be told this Saturday March 16th on the BIO channel in East Asia. The program airs 8 PM in the Thailand time zone and 9 PM in Hong Kong and Singapore time zones.

SNIVELLERS TEAM OUT of AMAZING RACE

If you failed to see how bad karma played out on the Amazing Race this week you still have a chance as there will be a repeat showing of that episode this Saturday and Sunday. Our backgrounder leading up to the episode pointed out that one very young and impetuous team John and Jessica had an extra express pass to give away to any team before the end of the 4th leg.

They were in an alliance with five teams to automatically give the pass to the team that finishes 2nd in the 1st leg. When the father and son team Dave and Connor who are cancer survivors finished 2nd John and Jessica failed to hand it over and claimed that they could do what they want as this is a race and not an honor contest. For their enjoyment they preferred to hold it to gain favoritism from the other teams wanting the pass. They didn't want to give it to a strong team but a weak team. Ironically the father tore his Achilles and leg muscle when he was running to finish 1st at the end of that 2nd leg.

It was then that John gave the pass thinking that the wounded team wouldn't be a threat. Ironically the father and son finished 1st two consecutive times following the injury.

The major twist was Jon and Jessica were ELIMINATED due to John's stubbornness in using their express pass against the will of his girlfriend. Repeatedly she said to use the pass but he refused. Throughout John played to the camera on what he could and wanted to do rather than focusing on the tasks at hand.

At the beginning of that episode he boldly stated, "I want to make sure we play this game strategically smart and we extract as much value out of our express pass as we possibly can."

That statement was repeated when in Bali the task was to assemble a fruit display. John felt that it would be easy since he was detailed orientated. Prior to doing so he boldly stated, "If it's overly challenging we can use the express pass." It was but he failed to use the pass.

They went on to trail in the race. During the last task they were tied with a team that finished next to last. Jessica said they could use the pass but he refused.

She pointed out that they would be last but he refused. All of the teams finished before sunset. Although John knew they were last he continued until he completed the task well after sunset. At the finish line host Phil Khoegan said to his knowledge they were the first team to be eliminated while holding an express pass.

John replied that he didn't believe in looking back and hashing over what could have happened and walked off into the darkness prompting a look from Kohegan rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders saying, "Oy vey," This is a must see episode that exemplifies the worst in human behavior.

BAD KARMA IS A MAJOR FACTOR ON THE AMAZING RACE

AMERICAN IDOL'S TOP 10

Controversy will continue on American as they selected their Top 10 for this seasons show. The girls have a stronger lineup this year with four strong voices and one that is on the bubble although she has her powerful moments.

Amber Holcomb (born March 17, 1994) is from Houston, Texas is our favorite voice. She originally auditioned in season 11, but was cut in the Las Vegas round, where she grouped with Curtis along with season 11 finalists Shannon Magrane and Joshua Ledet. Her maturity and never quit attitude has resulted in a talent that could make an impact in the business providing that she is managed properly.

Angela "Angie" Miller (born February 17, 1994) is from Beverly, Massachusetts. She auditioned in New York City, with "Mamma Knows Best." She stated at her audition that she is partially deaf, with 20% hearing loss in her right ear, and 40% in her left. Prior to auditioning for American Idol, Angie had a successful YouTube channel, earning current total views of 1.5 million. Miller can write original material and was stellar in a performance of one of her originals during the audition stage. She has the talent to be ready to record more than any other contestant based on the high quality of her original songs.

The boys are weak with two selections that are questionable. Lazaro Arbos (born December 27, 1990) is originally from Cuba but has lived in Naples, Florida since he was ten. He auditioned in Chicago, where he sang "Bridge over Troubled Water". When Lazaro was six, he began stuttering, to the point where he could barely talk. He has gone through therapy but it never improved his stutter. He is the human interest story of this season as he sings well but far from being the best but he overcomes his stuttering when he sings.

The most interesting and very talented is Devin Velez (born April 22, 1994) is from Chicago, Illinois who has a good voice and sings in Spanish halfway through the songs. He is a crossover talent for the English and Spanish speaking markets. Marc Anthony could have some competition from this contestant.
