YOUNG AARON KELLY HITS THE WALL & FALLS AT # 5

It was the end of the road for now 17-year-old Aaron Kelly who entered the contest at 16. Kelly fought through illness with tonsillitis and laryngitis climbed though the ranks and was eliminated at the fifth spot.

Kelly was one of our favorites but succumbed to the lack of experience and wavering confidence. His finish was about right given his talent. The polite, shy, soft spoken teenager from the US state of Pennsylvania got the MAX out of his vocal skills and will only improve with maturity and his tour with the American Idol Top 10 this summer. He could have a nice career though we don't envision him as being a major star.

This week given only five contestants were left to be judged the bottom three turned into the bottom two. Michael Lynche the Summo Man as we refer to him was again in the dreaded bottom category. Lynche along with Crystal Bowersox have the best voices among the final four.

For some mysterious reason the judges keep giving Lee DeWyze props and compliments ignoring how often he sings out of key. DeWyze has improved since entering the competition. We can now hear the voice the judges have been raving about as he did a good job this week with the theme being singing songs by Frank Sinatra.

The judges overbearing push for DeWyze does raise some suspicions that a fix is on. Should he win then we will have to investigate the show and try and find out what is up with the judges favoring certain contestants while ignoring their faults and being hard on others.

One thing that is surfacing is how they get hard with those who seem to be over confident leaning towards being big headed. Those who talk back are the most chastised.

Most notably was the undeserved abusive treatment given to Siobhan Magnus who was eliminated last week at number 6. When ridiculed by judge Simon Cowell she defended herself. The red flags emerged when he had far too many criticisms of her including how she dressed. This is a singing contest and not a fashion show thus Cowell should know better. His behavior raises the question why did he resent Magnus so much? Her talent was one of the best worthy of being in the Top 3.

In recent weeks Crystal Bowersox is also talking back in a sassy manner which is unbecoming of her. She's not being beaten down as was Magnus but Cowell is questioning her choice of songs when she choose one that is personal to her. He points out that she should concentrate about winning and choosing songs that will enable her to do that and not make personal song choices about what it means to her. We don't believe we're saying this but WE AGREE WITH COWELL. He is right on this point. Last week Bowersox was awful. This week she was good and we gave her the highest rating for the evening but Cowell didn't. He felt (ah we're getting sick of this) Lee DeWyze was the best of the evening.

Judge Kara Dioguardi's favorite crush Casey James has lost much of his luster as he has been running into making bad song choices and depending too much on his guitar playing. He's not sassing back but his attitude is becoming more conceited. His performance this week was the worst as he sang off key and was way out of sorts yet he escaped being in the bottom where he has been the past two weeks. He has to forget about being a pretty boy and concentrate on being a performer.

All we have to say about the competition at this point is that is it appears the FIX IS IN for Lee DeWyze.
