IT'S ON THE AMERICAN IDOL FINAL

UH OH!!! You know things are going bad when you forget that American Idol is on. Honest Injun, these past few weeks we've forgotten that the show was on the air which translates into a LACK OF INTEREST of the most boring American Idol season that we've witnessed over the past six seasons.

It's down to the final this week with Crystal Bowersox challenging Lee DeWyze for the title. As we've been suspicious of there is a conspiracy going on with Lee DeWyze being the chosen one to win which is no surprise after last season Kris Allen knocked off the more talented Adam Lambert for the title.

The writing on the wall was spelled out this past week as Casey James was sabotaged and Lee DeWyze was set up in the pole position to be in the final. Why? Good question.

The last show the final three contestants each sang two songs, one of their own choice and the other by the judges. James started off the show with his choice Eric Hutchinson's "OK, It's Alright with Me" that was OK but not up to speed with his talent.

The stinger was judge's Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson decided to experiment with James and make him sing a song out of his comfort zone since they felt it was a soft side of him that he should show the public. They chose John Mayer's "Daughters." It proved to be a bad idea as James was uncomfortable with the song and he didn't sing it well. DioGuardi tried to defend her poor choice and bad timing (in the final 3) to experiment with James by saying, "He's got to show his vulnerable side." He did and he's OUT.

The conclusion being with two sub par performances James' time on the show was limited as in 24 hours.

Bowersox did the same by choosing song "Come to My Window" by Melissa Etheridge. It was OK but not as strong as her talent. Judge Ellen Degeneres chose the Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" which resulted in a strong performance.

Lee DeWyze was third and closed out the show. He stood out as at the end of the evening as being the best talent THAT NIGHT and DIDN'T SING OUT OF TUNE for a change.

DeWyze chose for himself "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd and had a strong performance. Judge Simon Cowell chose a song that complimented DeWyze's strength "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. DeWyze did a great job and the night was his as Cowell gloated with his success in choosing a good song.

Adding more food for thought about a conspiracy theory after DeWyze performed Cowell's choice of song Jackson blurted out, "I've got to give it up to my boy (Cowell) because he set you up (with a good song) that was unbelievable."

Bowersox has been given good reviews but also received some that were negative. DeWyze has NEVER received a negative critique. He's OK but OHHH PLEASE!!!!! The judge's apparent favorite contestant has been given support and compliments after he sings out of key and they keep telling him YOU CAN WIN THIS THING while not giving other contestants the same treatment in particular that statement.

DeWyze has never been on our hit list but to his credit exemplified by the performances this past week he has improved the most.

NOTES:

More favoritism DeWyze was the first saved again in the final 3...

DeWyze auditioned in Chicago for the ninth season of American Idol with the song "Ain't No Sunshine". During Hollywood week, his group included Aaron Kelly and Bowersox, who all made it into the top 24 and subsequently the top 5...

His closest friends among the competitors are Bowersox and Siobhan Magnus, as well as Idol roommate, Andrew Garcia...

DeWyze is the only male contestant in Season 9 to never land in the bottom three...

On May 14, 2010, DeWyze performed at the Arlington Park Race Track in Arlington Heights, Illinois with more than 41,000 people attending as part of his American Idol Homecoming day...

Prior to Idol, DeWyze released two independent albums called So I'm Told in 2007 and Slumberland in 2010...

Siobhan Magnus was among the missing - (Fox photo)

During her days as a struggling musician, Bowersox played as a busker at several train stations, particularly when she lived in Chicago. She also played extensively in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. Before Idol, Crystal performed gospel music at her church...

On March 2, Bowersox was hospitalized because of complications from diabetes, forcing a last minute switch in scheduling to give her extra time to recuperate. Bowersox confirmed the illness on the May 19th results show during an interview with host Seacrest. The men competed that day instead of the women. She sang the next day and impressed all of the judges...

Bowersox is the first female contestant to make it to the finale since Jordin Sparks won the title in 2007...

During the results show AI host Ryan Seacrest pointed to eliminated contestants sitting in the front row who will be appearing in the finals show. Missing was Siobhan Magnus as in what's up with that?...

With the money American Idol has you would think they could do a better job preventing stuffing the ballot boxes as has happened in the past...

REMEMBER this week is the special TWO HOUR final show! WE HOPE WE DON'T FORGET.
