APPRENTICE ASIA

If Tony Fernandes didn't have enough to do as the owner of Air Asia, the Queens Park Rangers who were recently demoted from the English Premier League and a Formula One racing team he's spreading himself thinner by hosting the Apprentice Asia on the AXN Network. The program premiered May 22nd in East Asia and presently has some rough edges to it.

Fernandes is not the most effervescent host. He's a bit dull and lacks energy and the surprise element that Donald Trump possesses. His advisors are also boring. The cast is void of explosive personalities resulting in a monotonous feeling overall. The good point and an important message to be televised particularly in Asia is Fernandes is a hard taskmaster for ethics and integrity.

Given that this is a new endeavor for Fernandes and the show it could smooth out and become more interesting as all involved mature. It's a show worth watching.

The most interesting aspect is being that the contestants are from various parts of East Asia they speak their native tongue as well as English. The first episode took place in Malaysia. The first task was selling fish in an open air market with the teams being split up the boys verses the girls. The advantage of one of the contestants who is French but works in and represents China who speaks Chinese helped him sell to Chinese speaking Malay. Two of his remaining four teammates are from Malaysia. In the end his male team lost the challenge and the Indonesian leader of the team was eliminated.

If the show continues be filmed in Malaysia it will be interesting to see how the various languages will factor into who wins the contest. Another point is when AXN produced their fist Amazing Race Asia it was one of the most boring shows I've ever seen. Season two improved and season 3 had the most interesting cast. The same could apply the Apprentice Asia. The program airs Wednesday night at 8:05 PM in the Thailand/Indonesia and 9:05 PM Hong Kong/Singapore time zones. Repeats air Thursday night. GENE SIMMONS' ISRAELI KISS

When one tries to figure out why Israel exists and justifies its invading, murdering and occupation ways a human element was revealed on Gene Simmons TV series Gene Simmons Family Jewels on the BIO channel in East Asia. Simmons is most notably known for his long tongue as the bass player in the 80's rock group KISS. Simmons often speaks fondly of the land in which he was born in 1949 a year after their independence as a doctor on a segment of the show so boldly stated.

Simmons birth name is Chaim Witz (pron.: /'x??j?m/; ?Hebrew: ???? ????). He was born in Tirat HaCarmel, Israelon August 25, 1949 now age 63. His mother Florence and her brother, Larry Klein, were the only members of the family to survive the Holocaust. His mother brought him to the United States when he was 8-years-old.

Simmons wrote about his love and support for the United States: "I wasn't born here. But I have a love for this country and its people that knows no bounds. I will forever be grateful to America for going into World War II, when it had nothing to gain, in a country that was far away... and rescued my mother from the Nazi German concentration camps. She is alive and I am alive because of America. And, if you have a problem with America, you have a problem with me.

In March 2011, Simmons visited Israel and filmed the events. He described the trip as a "life changing experience". He talked about how he still feels that he is an Israeli: "I'm Israeli. I'm a stranger in America. I'm an outsider".

There were two episodes where Simmons featured Israel. One was when he visited the building where Anne Frank and her family hid for two years. The entrance to the secret apartment was behind a bookcase. When it was slid open a door to the secret apartment was revealed. The event prompted Simmons to remark about his mother who was in a German concentration camp, "Why, what did she do."

That brought to mind WHY what did the Arabs that the Jews slaughtered do to them that led up to mass murders to form what is know known as the nation of Israel aka the protectorate for the oil to flow through the Suez Canal.

On Thursday May 23 another Israeli episode was televised in East Asia featuring Simmons visiting Israel and meeting with his half brothers and sisters that he never knew he had. Simmons mother left his father to go to American when he was seven years old. Since that time he has had bitter feelings towards his father that he never saw since his departure. Throughout the episode Simmons was shown photos of his father that he had never seen nor kept in touch with.

With his 3 sisters and brother he visited his father's grave and wept and told his father he was sorry. He also compared himself to his father noting that he is a good father unlike what he thought of his Israeli dad. "You would be proud, (of him)" he added.

A letter by his dad that was never sent to Simmons was read by his half brother. It credited Simmons with his achievements and good fortunes in life as he is now a millionaire.

These two episodes were an interesting insight to how Israeli's think. It wasn't about war and occupation but about family. The most significant memory from these episodes is that Simmons could ask the question WHY, WHAT DID HIS MOTHER DO TO THE GERMANS. That points out the irrational arrogant thinking of the Israeli's that what they do is OK but what is done to them in revenge IS NOT.

Another touching expose was he was led to his past and family via his mother giving Simmons girlfriend and the mother of his two children Shannon the information. "How did you know," (about his unknown family) he asked his mother. She informed him that she made visits to Israel without his knowledge and kept it a secret from him thinking he would be angry.

Simmons is known for being outspoken and having megalomania. Many of his comments have placed him on the hot seat. Like many Jews that have a family history of being interned by the Germans their offspring are bitterer than their family members that experienced through the horror. Many of those are journalists on CNN. Like CNN journalists that have anti Muslim sentiments Simmons also misspoke.

In 2004, during an interview in Melbourne, Australia, while talking about Islamic extremists, Simmons described Islam as a "vile culture", saying that Muslim women had to walk behind their husbands, were not allowed to be educated or to own houses. He said: "They want to come and live right where you live and they think that you're evil." Amongst ensuing criticism, Australian Muslim of the Year Susan Carland argued that Simmons' stereotyping of Muslims was inaccurate. Simmons later clarified his comments on his website, saying he had been talking specifically about Muslim extremists.

These episodes are worth seeing as it shows a human element of the hard crusted Israeli's. It's a side that you don't see as they prefer to portray their bow wow woof, woof bad ass image. There are three parts to every story... the version of each side and the truth is somewhere in the middle. The question remains... WHAT D THE ARABS DO TO THE ISRAELI'S PRIOR TO THEIR MURDERING UPRISING IN 1948 the year Simmons was conceived. THEIR PROBLEM IS WITH THE GERMANS!
