GLOBETROTTERS ANGER COMPETITORS

The interesting thing about reality shows is that somewhere along the line human behavior factors into the results. The elements of skill, luck and teamwork are the key elements for success and played a major part in who would go and who would stay to continue in the race.

With a cast that wasn't that exciting form the beginning in the world of only the strong survive professional basketball players for the internationally renowned Harlem Globetrotters Nate "Big Easy" Lofton and Herbert "Flight Time" Lang are emerging as being strong contenders to win the race.

Lofton took on a Roadblock task in the last episode filmed in Dubai. In the Roadblock, one team member had to row an inflatable dinghy out to a yacht anchored offshore. That team member then had to board the yacht and receive a watch from the sheiks on board in accordance with the Arab custom of hospitality, then row the dinghy back to the dock and open their briefcase (see additional tasks) by figuring out that the time displayed on the watch - 8:35 - corresponded to the combination to the briefcase's lock - 8-3-5. When they unlocked the briefcase, they would find their next clue.

Though they were one of the first to arrive the Globetrotters Big Easy couldn't figure out the task. As every team passed them he finally figured it out and they moved on to catch up to Mika Combs (22); Canaan Smith (26) at the Atlantis Aquaventure Park. Both team members had to slide down the resort's Leap of Faith water slide which dropped them along 61 meters (200 ft) and 27.5 meters (90 ft) down a nearly 90° incline and through a tunnel beneath the aquarium's shark lagoon. At the bottom, teams would find their next clue. If multiple teams were at the top of the slide at the same time, the leading team had two minutes to go down the slide; if the two minutes elapsed, the leading team was required to move aside and allow the trailing team the opportunity to slide down.

Mika is afraid of height and didn't have the nerve to get on the slide. Canaan tried to persuade her and pointed out that her failing to go though with the task would cost them a shot at a million dollars.

When the Globetrotters arrived they witnessed Mika's situation and Big Easy teased Mika about being scared. "Don't do it," he said. Mika listened and didn't. Canaan was annoyed and responded, "I thought you were decent but you're a piece of crap man."

The Globetrotters jumped at the chance to move forward to the pit stop leaving Mika and Canaan to be eliminated.

With a 3.4/8 ratings share of the 18-34 age group this episode surpassed the Phnom Penh lost passport episode in the ratings share category and total viewers 11.22 to 10.52 Overall for all age groups the Phnom Penh episode retained the number one spot in overall rank with 20 to last weeks #22 and 6.7 to 6.4 ratings share.

Of the remaining teams Meghan & Cheyne are the only team to finish first three times. So who will go on to win the Amazing Race title… tune in Monday nights on AXN.

CNBC… GO FIGURE

Though the stock market is improving a strange thing is going on with the reporting the news at CNBC. Since the market bottomed out in March the AIG stock has rebounded to remain in the 40's since August from a low of $6 a share. When the stock was down CNBC couldn't get enough of reporting the bad news. Now that it has recovered there is barely a peep of the stocks rally and it is seldom seen on the CNBC ticker.

In the world of GO FIGURE it raises the questions of why and for those involved with CNBC how much AIG stock is in their portfolios?
