Monday November 16, 2009

UH OH!!!

The heat is on former Miss USA Carrier Prejean who has been receiving a lot of attention after appearing on the Larry King show and refusing to answer questions.

Prejean 22, gained nationwide attention over her answer to a question about same-sex marriage during the Miss USA contest. She was dethroned on June 10, 2009, allegedly for continued breach of contract. Prejean called those claims false, and filed a libel suit alleging that she has been discriminated against because of her religious views. Pageant officials countersued and demanded she repay the money spent for her breast implants. The legal battle between Prejean and the pageant officials was later settled out of court on November 3, 2009 following the revelation of a sex tape involving her.

On November 11, 2009, Prejean had a heated interview with King on CNN's Larry King Live. King questioned why she settled her lawsuit settlement with the Miss California organization. Prejean refused to answer and said, "Larry, you're being inappropriate." King moved on to a telephone caller, prompting Prejean to take off her microphone.

Reportedly before the interview, Prejean threatened to walkout. Prejean said to CNN news assistant Christina McAusland, "You tell Larry if he's not nice to me, I will get up and leave." Following the interview, Prejean accused the staffer of lying to her, saying King's producers promised no phone calls.

This past week that adult video of her surfaced and it was believed to have been made when she was under the age of 18 which is against the law in the USA. Making adult videos is not against the law but using individuals under the age of 18 is a serious violation.

A third party brought the video to Vivid Entertainment who previously offered Prejean a million dollars to act in an adult film for them. Now that the controversial tape is in Vivid's hands they are stating that they are ready to negotiate with her. Call it what you want but Prejean's problems are mounting. FULL STORY

AMAZING RACE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE

The non-elimination segments built into the Amazing Race program serve as stimuli for the program to decide who9 goes and who stays. If a team is unruly and causing problems they are likely to be eliminated. If they are good people and serious competitors plus have the personalities to make the show interesting they are likely to be saved.

This past week the oldest person in the race Gary Tomljenovich 47 and his son Matt 22 were spared elimination as they came upon a task that was overbearing thus finished last. The task was that a team member had to search through 186 hay bales to find one of seven flags (the Season 6 Roadblock had sisters Lena & Kristy searching for their clue for nearly 10 hours). When teams found one of the flags, they were allowed to proceed to the nearby Pit Stop. The father and son team are long shots to win the event having finished first only once of the eight legs of the race thus far.

At the pit stop host Phil Keoghan gave them the good news that they will continue in the race that has five teams remaining and four more legs before the completion of the race. Only three teams compete in the finals translating to another NON-ELIMINATION leg remaining in the race. From this point on it will be interesting to see who the Amazing Race producers ARE FOND OF.

The Globetrotters finished first the last leg making it their second first place finish in the competition. Brian and his wife Ericka who is the former Miss America 2004 are the only remaining team that has never finished first in the race.
