AMAZING RACE RUNS TWO RACES & ONE IS AMAZING RACE ASIA

Over the past five years The Amazing Race has been selected as the best reality show on television. The productions originate from America and contestants then travel around the world to compete for a million US dollar prize.

The Amazing Race is a multiple Emmy Award-winning show that originally aired in the USA September 5, 2001. Since that time 115 episodes have been produced through season 10, episode 1.

Beginning tomorrow Thursday November 9th the Amazing Race Asia will begin telecasting. Allan Wu who has a background in and hosting television shows and modeling is the shows host. Wu also was a contestant on Fear Factor.

The Amazing Race Asia features teams of two people who live in Asia as competitors. How much of the world they will travel remains to be seen. To see the who, what, where, when and why of the Amazing Race Asia check your local TV listings and tune in.

The initial episode of the show is scheduled to be televised Thursday November 9th at 8pm in Cambodia - Thailand and 9 pm in Singapore - Hong Kong. Check your local listings.

THE MAIN AMAZING RACE SHOW

The Amazing Race's main show that is produced in the USA is down to the final five teams of two from its original 12 teams. The beauty contestant girls remain along with an arguing couple that is in the midst of deciding if they should stay together, the black moms from Alabama, the male models who are recovering drug addicts and the Asian Chou brothers.

Its a case of the good guys verses the bad guys given your perspective. Some of these teams have lied and cheated (such as butting in line to go ahead of another team). Some don't like each other.

The Chou brothers are the most liked. They have been kind and helped other contestants.

The stars if the show thus far were the coalmining couple from Kentucky who were eliminated last week.

They charmed most of the competitors with their sweet southern persona. That persona helped, as they were the last to arrive at a pit stop on two occasions but was permitted to go on as it was deemed that the pit stops were the only two non-elimination stops on the entire race.

The Amazing Race is a test of Karma and human behavior. Who will win the million-dollar prize??? Tune in and find out. The show airs on Monday night at 8pm Cambodia - Thailand and 9pm in Singapore and Hong Kong. Check your local listings.

Trumped Out - The APPRENTICE

It's down to the final four on The Apprentice as billionaire Donald Trump draws near to his selection of who will be his next apprentice that he will put in charge to run one of his companies.

This show airs on Sunday nights on Malaysia's TV 3 at 10pm Cambodia - Thailand and 11pm in Singapore - Hong Kong.

The previous season of the Apprentice show is also airing on TV 3. This program is at the beginning stages where most of the contestants are still in the race and a number of episodes remain in the series.

An Asian viewer that aspires to go to America can have an insight to the behavior of individuals competing for a job. The lessons learned are there are good behaviors and behaviors that is caught on tape.

A recent episode caught a contestant lying while on camera. Obviously that didn't bode well with Trump and the girl was FIRED.

The lesson to be learned is that when one is vying for a GOOD JOB other than skills the applicant must have credibility and lying cheating and stealing doesn't work. The previous seasons show airs Monday nights at midnight Cambodia - Thailand and 1am Singapore - Hong Kong.

WORLD'S APART

WORLD'S APART is a good TV show to watch on the AXN channel. It sends an American family to a foreign land to live with indigenous people for 10 days. The family has to adapt to their culture and ways.

This is the perfect show that demonstrates how people can get along.

CNN THE WAR Channel's HAIR TRIGGER BREAKING NEWS - Lost The Plot

If its war you're looking for you can find it at CNN.

CNN's hair trigger actions reporting so called BREAKING NEWS is so out of control that it's a wonder that they don't report a rain drop running down a windowpane as BREAKING NEWS. In this respect CNN Asia HAS LOST THE PLOT of what breaking news really is.

One of my pet peeves is when CNN interrupts the sports programming for a BREAKING NEWS STORY.

Last month they interrupted a sports program five minutes before it was to end and the channel would return to regular news. The braking news was of a plane crashing on a runway in Russia while trying to land but CNN had no details.

When they went to the regular news segment they repeated the non-news story as BREAKING NEWS only to repeat the same no information verbiage.

The, in their opinion, shocking news story was not repeated the following day qualifying it as a mysterious BREAKING NEWS story.

My favorite CNN BREAKING NEWS REPORT was in January when they interrupted the sports programming when the sports show was on the air for only five minutes. They reported of an explosion in Israel but HAD NO DETAILS.

The kept repeating the same information over and over and over again as if they were talking to a brain dead audience that didn't get it the first time.

This occurred three more times during the sports show and it was ruined. The braking news took up approximately 80% of the sports show BUT THEY HAD NO DETAILS.

When CNN did their homework and had details they reported that the explosion was A SONIC BOOM.

CNN Asia should be more responsible when alarming the public with BREAKING NEWS that turns out to be non-news particularly during times like these.

As Ted Turner the creator and founder of CNN said in an interview on CNBC there is room for improvement on CNN. Turner no longer owns nor is in control of the (so called) news channel..

TURNER NOTES:

In 1979 Turner announced at the Western Cable show that he was going to launch a 24-hour all news channel. He was scorned and mocked for his seemingly crazy idea.

The television industry viewed the news as a business that didn't make money. It was also felt that people would not watch a 24-hour news channel.

In 1980, Turner began broadcasting CNN, the first 24-hour cable news channel. Obviously Turner was right and proved his critics wrong.

As a philanthropist Turner has made a $1 billion pledge to the United Nations donated through his United Nations Foundation.

JAY LENO Is (Spot) On

You often hear the phrase SPOT ON meaning you got it right or it's hot. When it comes to comedy often the humor is lost in the translation of language or a cultural misunderstanding.

Jay Leno is recognized as one of America's top comedians. He took over The Tonight Show that Johnny Carson hosted for many decades. They said nobody could replace Carson but Leno certainly has having hosted the show for a decade himself.

To see if Leno is SPOT ON for you the show airs on the CNBC channel Saturday night and Sunday afternoons in the Southeast Asia region. Check your listings.

In Cambodia and Thailand it is televised at 9pm Saturday and 3pm Sunday. CHECK IT OUT.
