IS AGE A FACTOR ON THE VOICE?

In the Pacific Rim region The Voice is televised on the AXN channel out of Singapore. The AXN on air promotions for the program have been featuring Cilla Chan 22 who hails from Singapore as well as San Jose, California. The problem is Chan has been a no show on the air as the delayed telecasts of The Voice have apparently been edited down for from the original telecast which is televised almost a week earlier in the US. The delayed edited version is shown in the Pacific Rim region on Sunday nights.

Chan has been urging Asian viewers to watch the show in which she is competing. The problem is Chan is as yet she has yet to be seen although she progressed from the blind auditions to the knock out round. For those that are interested is hearing what she sounds like get with the program and watch this Sunday as she is KO'd by her mentor Blake Shelton and not saved thus she's out of the competition. The show was televised in the US October 22nd.

Should Chan is fortunate to be included in this new episode airing Sunday October 27th and not edited out of the telecast that show repeats several times throughout the week. If interested the best bet is to check the AXN website for the time and dates in you area.

In our previous report about The Voice we noted that former backup singer for Gloria Estefan for nine years Donna Allen was at 54 the oldest contestant in the contest until she was eliminated by her coach Adam Levine and not saved. The oldest contestant remaining on the show is 52-year-old Elizabeth Daily (E.G. Daily).

Daily is an entertainment veteran who took time out in the career to raise a family. She has experience as an actress and has done voice-overs. She has voiced television characters such as Tommy Pickles in Rugrats and its spin-off All Grown Up!, Buttercup in The Powerpuff Girls, Rudy Tabootie in Chalkzone, and Isabel "Dizzy" Flores in Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles. She provided the voice for the title role in the live-action feature film Babe: Pig in the City.

Besides doing voice-overs, Daily has acted in film and on TV. She played Sandy Burns on the PBS series The Righteous Apples from 1980 to 1981. In 1985, she starred as Dottie in the cult classic Pee-wee's Big Adventure. She also appeared on such shows as Laverne & Shirley, CHiPs, Fame and Friends. She was also in the video for Rod Stewart's song "Young Turks" as Patti, one of the runaway teens.

Early in her career Daily signed with A&M Records in 1985, working with Madonna's frequent collaborators John "Jellybean" Benitez and Stephen Bray. In 1986, that label released the R&B/Rock single "Say It, Say It". The song made it to #70 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the #1 spot on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. (Other versions of the song appeared as early as 1981). Her songs "Shake It Up" and "I'm Hot Tonight" were included in the soundtrack to the film Scarface.

She broke back into the world of singing as a contestant on the fifth season of the NBC reality show The Voice. In the blind audition broadcast on September 24, 2013, she sang "Breathe" from Faith Hill. Two of the four judges on the show, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green, turned around their chairs for her. She chose to be on Team Blake.

Although she was seen in Asia during her appearance in the blind auditions what has yet to be seen is Daily proceeding to win her battle in the shows battle rounds singing the song "Something to Talk About". She proceeded to the Knockout Rounds.

Now there is something to talk about… why isn't AXN televising all of the US version telecasts? Will they televise the episodes with Chan and Daily? Tune in and find out.

FRICTION on The AMAZING RACE

Last week on The Amazing Race the friction between the New Jersey couple Ex-Couple Tim Sweeney and Marie Mazzocchi who hold an extra Express Pass that they must give out before the end of the 5th leg and the other teams continues to build. Last week was a continuation leg and only one team was seen at the finishing line.

The final scene of the show was a dispute between the Jersey couple and two married doctors Nicole & Travis from Atlanta Georgia. Nicole was heard bargaining to Marie who lost the instructions for the directions to the finish line saying do you want the pass or not. With no response she said she was driving off. Nicole was in a huff and puff and wants everyone to know that although she's a doctor in Atlanta she was raised in Brooklyn, New York and was leading one to believe that she and can have a bad attitude and the physicality to back it up.

The twist is the doctors should have won the Express Pass and the extra one to give out since it was given to the team that finished first in the 1st leg. The doctors finished first but they took a taxi to the finish line and were supposed to walk thus they incurred a 30 minute penalty. During that time the Jersey couple arrived at the finish line and won the Express Pass and the weight that goes with it.

During the previous leg the Jersey couple was baiting other teams to help them if they wanted to be in favor to receive the EXTRA EXPRESS PASS. One team essentially told them to stick the PASS up their @$$ when they informed the Jersey couple that they didn't need it. At this point the question is, since the Jersey team is disliked and are outwardly looking for favors while at the same time sending off a bad attitude will they decide to give the pass to anyone. Since winning the 1st leg they have had bad karma and have had a rough going resulting in two consecutive 8th place finishes.

Last season a team with the same attitude problem still had their Express Pass when they were last and eliminated. Host Phil Keoghan noted that he thought that was the first time in the history of the race that a team failed to use their pass. GO FIGURE…

The Amazing Race is on Monday night in the Pacific Rim region on the AXN channel with repeats throughout the week.
