FOR CAMERON MITCHELL LIFE WILL GO ON WITHOUT GLEE

If you missed it The Glee Project's favorite to win contestant Cameron Mitchell quit the program this week in the 6th position due to his moral and religious beliefs. When he was kissed by a cast member in the previous episode he felt guilty about cheating on his girlfriend back in Texas. The kiss was not ion the script. He called his mother to express his guilt feelings.

This past week he was placed in that situation again but this time it was written in the script of a music video. He refused to kiss the girl and due to his lack of cooperation he was selected to have a last chance performance in the bottom three in front of the shows co-creator and writer Ryan Murphy who is admittedly gay.

From the start Murphy was not a fan of Mitchell despite the arguments made by the casting and choreography directors. Mitchell did well in his last chance performance prompting Murphy to comment that he was impressed by that as well as admiring his moral beliefs.

From the start of the series Murphy made a point of noting that the talent wasn't his main concern in selecting a winner. He wanted someone different from a member of the existing cast of Glee. The winner of the TGP would be a guest star in seven episodes in which Murphy wanted someone new that he could be inspired to write a character for. Murphy then said he and always to cast someone with his religious and moral beliefs a character that he felt Glee lacked. Murphy then asked, "If I write a part for you to kiss someone and then I'm called down to the set because you won't do it what am I to do?

Mitchell though for a moment and then said, "I feel like maybe this isn't for me."

Mitchell felt his heart wasn't committed to go on and preferred to quit. Murphy then requested to Mitchell since he was the producer to let him make that decision.

It was unprecedented but Murphy then went to Mitchell's dressing room and after requesting a hug he told Mitchell that he was selected to continue in the contest. Mitchell followed up by informing Murphy that he still wanted to leave the show and let someone who wanted it more to have a chance to continue.

Murphy informed Mitchell that the person who was selected to be eliminated was Mitchell's best friend on the show Irishman Damian McGinty who had problems in surviving from the start of the series having been selected for the bottom 3 in four of the first 9 episodes overall.

Prior to Mitchell's singing his last departing song he said that he believed, "When one door closes another door will open."

If anything this is a lesson in integrity that is a must watch. As for McGinty he continued and what happened to him is something that viewers MUST SEE. If you missed it the show repeats on the weekends as noted in the schedule below or viewed on the following web site: http://thegleeproject.oxygen.com/#fbid=YWFYDUDDvzm
