Season runner-up Jessica Sanchez's professional career is off to a bad start as she had to record the song that was the main reason why she failed to win. The question is WHY after negative judge's reviews and poor audience reception did they make her record this terrible song? - 19 Recordings photo

THE GAME IS ON

The American Idol tour party is over and the numbers are coming in. The Top 10 contestants of the eleventh season of American Idol began the 46 date tour July 6, 2012 in Detroit, Michigan and ended in September 21, 2012 in Quezon City, Philippines. The figures for their final date in the Philippines have yet to be released. This will produce some interesting results as runner-up Jessica Sanchez was the Philippine fans favorite being that she is half Filipino and half Mexican. The other aspect is the Philippine media criticized Idol in noting that most previous winners have been WBWG's which in translation means white boys with guitars and winner Phillip Phillips was another WGWG winner.

Now its time to cut the fat from the lamb and see which contestants gained enough confidence and experience from the tour to pursue a professional career. Last season six of the Top 10 was signed to management contracts by 19 Entertainment which was founded by Idols creator Simon Fuller.

Who will make the cut this year is a mystery as Idol changed their game plan from previous seasons granting winner Phillip Phillips the only album contract and a healthy financial reward. Sanchez received less money than the previous runners-up and was given a one song record deal. The glaring problem here is the awful song they made her record CHANGE NOTHING selected by the show's mentor Jimmy Iovine. That horrible song choice was the main reason she lost the competition other than we feel the show is rigged and winners are decided by the powers that be in the back room.

Following her performance of the dreadful song she received negative reviews from all the judges. Jennifer Lopez even told Sanchez that she should have more of a say in the songs that she sings as that song was NOT RIGHT for her style and voice. The irony is that Sanchez was to record a song only IF SHE WON the competition. Why make her record it makes no sense. The only sensible answer is that for some reason they are setting the talented vocalist up to fail. WHY... remains a mystery as bad decisions are being made on her behalf.

Agreements and contracts are made prior to a contestant being accepted to appear on the show. Previous contestants have complained after having problems with the shows powers that be that they want too much control of an artist simply to appear on the show. If there is a lesson to be learned Sanchez is now learning the dirty side of the entertainment business at an early age. She was 16 when she appeared on the program but turned 17 during the tour August 4th when the show was on and off day. The following day the show sold out in Duluth Minnesota attracting 8,053 fans.

Being so young she still has time to recover from this career setback. Since the finals Sanchez has signed for an album deal with Iovine's Interscope Records which is puzzling. Given her parents are young and experienced about the entertainment business the family is in a position that they can be taken advantage of.

Her post Idol show experience includes singing the U.S. National Anthem, "God Bless America" and "The Prayer" at the PBS' National Memorial Day Concert from the west lawn of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. on May 27, 2012.

She performed the U.S. National Anthem during the Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley fight on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sanchez also sang the U.S. National Anthem during the 2012 NBA finals Heat vs. Thunder.

Sanchez also signed this mysterious record deal with Interscope Records. An official artist page made for her on the label's website is now featured, as well as an official website with the official banner of Interscope Records and Universal Music Group displayed at the bottom. We tried and failed to access the sight.

During the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2012 press junket, Sanchez confirmed to interviewers that she was in fact working on her debut album due in November. On August 29, 2012 on a tour stop in New York City at iHeartRadio, Sanchez sang a new single "Fairytale" off her upcoming album.

Sanchez also performed at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 with other artists and musicians, such as DJ Cassidy and Branford Marsalis. She performed the song "You're All I Need to Get By" by Marvin Gaye.

What next for this talented young singer is up ion the air. We feel that she is with the wrong record company and management. Hopefully we're wrong thus... STAY TUNED.
