PRINCESS DIANA & DODI FAYED - 'THE DEATH IF A PRINCESS'

"They (security) would never let him get behind the wheel if they knew he was drunk."

Those were the words of Mohammad Al Fayed the father of Dodi Fayed who died in a car crash with Princess Diana almost a decade ago. He was referring to the chauffeur that drove the couple that fatal night.

To me those words meant rang with significance. WHY? I was Dodi Fayed's assigned driver in the mid 80's when he came to Hollywood to negotiate the purchase of the MGM film studios.

When the word of his death came to me noting that it was attributed to his driver being drunk I thought…. That's Bull$#!t.

The TV show 'THE DEATH IF A PRINCESS' was televised in Southeast Asia on the Fox World channel in 2006 shed a different light on the matter.

Mohammed was interviewed throughout the 30-minute show. He was bitter and made some very strong statements.

Fayed hired former London Police chief and Scotland Yard's Lord Stephenson to investigate. Fayed accused Prince Phillip of masterminding the murder of his son and Diana. Fayed also stated that Prince Phillip's mother was mad and his father was an alcoholic He noted that Phillip was taken from his parents at the age of six by his auntie. Fayed claimed that she was married to one of Hitler's generals.

Talking about Queen Elizabeth, "Unfortunately she has a gangster as a husband."

Fayed who is the owner of Harrods department in the Chelsea district of London and the Fulham football club in the English Premiere League said that the relationship of Diana and Dodi (a Muslim) threatened English royalty. When I've talked to people from England they have expressed similar views as Fayed. As he said, "Ninety-four percent of the people in (England) believe what I say is true.

From my experience I KNOW THIS….. A DRIVER WOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE DODI FAYED IF THEY WERE DRUNK.

I WORKED CLOSELY WITH HIS BODYGUARD EVERY DAY. THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

But there's more. This being the 10th anniversary of Diana's death her loss is deeply felt by many.

On a show currently being televised on the Discovery channel 'Behind The News - Death of Princess Diana' from Lions Gate Films they reenacted the tragic circumstances of the accident. They simulated the event by filming cars of similar size to see if Fayed's Mercedes Benz could be knocked into a cement pillar in the Paris tunnel if it slightly glanced the Fiat Uno that was involved in the collusion that is a much smaller vehicle and is less than half the weight of the of the car in which he and Diana were passengers.

After duplicating the exact damage in the same area of the vehicles it was concluded that upon impact it wasn't possible for the smaller vehicle to force the larger Benz to run into the pillar.

They also did a sobriety test at the University of Iowa to see if Fayed's chauffeur Henri Paul could drive with a 1.73 to 1.75 grams per liter alcohol level in his blood as medical reports indicated.

The person taking the test had to be assisted from the chair, where he drank large quantities of alcohol to reach the 1.73 level, to walk to the driving simulator. He admitted that he was in no shape to drive. Paul was said not to be a heavy drinker and the investigation revealed that he had only one or two drinks before the accident and not enough to produce a alcohol level of 1.73 grams per liter.

Talk show host Larry King did a program this week regarding the matter with experts from various fields that knew Diana and Fayed. The one point that I know was inaccurate was that Fayed often told his drivers to speed up.

From my experience driving Fayed HE NEVER instructed me how to drive. Driving instructions ONLY CAME FROM THE BODY GUARD. Those instructions were more likely to be about directions and nothing more.

They say one never forgets where they were when former US President John F. Kennedy died. They say the same about Elvis. Many now say that about Diana.

When Diana died a stranger informed me while I was dining at a restaurant. I didn't believe him and thought he was playing a sick game.

"Watch the news," he said. I did and the news was one of the most shocking I've ever heard because I thought highly of her and also due to my experience driving Fayed.

Diana had a gift of making people feel good. She cared and helped others. How could anyone not like such a lady? She is loved by many... but who is she beyond what we currently know?
