Miss Cambodia Contest DENIED

As we noted earlier regarding the Miss Cambodia contest....Stay tuned for this. Given TIC (This Is Cambodia), schedules can change at the last second..

We hate to be an I TOLD YOU SO BUT... The Cambodian government denied Planet Communications permission to produce Miss Cambodia Contest.

August 1st was the original first day of accepting applications to enter the event. The date was then rescheduled to August 15.

The contest was to begin September 10 with the final scheduled to be held October 28. The intention was to enter the winner into the Miss Universe contest.

The Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts is involved in the planning process of the event. There was a concern regarding the contestants wearing a swimsuit in the Miss Universe Contest Stay tuned

Planet previously noted that applications for the Freshie Boy & Girl contest will be taken in October. The contest will begin in November. The Freshie contest is for boys and girls 16 to 20 years of age.

ULTIMATE FIGHTER FINAL

The reality show the Ultimate fighter will televise its final show tonight on the AXN channel at 7:30pm in Singapore/Hong Kong and 6:30pm Cambodia/Thailand.

After living together in a house in Las Vegas, Nevada USA for two months the final fights from two weight divisions will get it on.

The two winners will win a six-figure contract to fight in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) in the USA. The 2-½ hour show will also feature two top UFC fighters Ken Shamrock vs. Rich Franklin.

Ultimate Fighter repeats Tuesday 4pm - Saturday 6pm & 11pm - Sunday 8am.

TOP MODEL's TYRA BANKS

When you think about supermodel TYRA BANKS you think about…. Well that's up to you….. BUT…..

TYRA BANKS was known as a supermodel but since that time she is known for much more including being a talk show host, television personality, actress, supermodel, author, executive producer.

Her Top Model TV show is gaining interest as has improved tremendously over its first season. He good decision making and appeal earns her an $18 million dollar a year salary. The now 33-year-old's net worth is reported to be $140 million. With that kind of success she has to be placed with some of the worlds top business people.

TOP MODEL is targeted for women. The show's job applicants as well as contestants compete for a $100,000 US prize and a contract with a top modeling agency. The first show of every season begins with 15 hopefuls ranging in age from 18-25.

TOMMY LEE GOES TO COLLEGE

Music channel V will rerun TOMMY LEE Goes To College series beginning this Wednesday September 6 (or so they say) at 7pm Cambodia/Thailand and 8pm Singapore/Hong Kong.

The first couple of episodes of the one half hour show are slow but after the character development sets in with the Rock Star Supernova and former Motley Crue drummer and the college students at Nebraska University it gets very interesting.

Lee does a good job and has a funny sense of humor interacting with college students that are all young enough to be his children making the show VERY entertaining.

FILIPINO TV HITS

Despite what appears to be scheduling problems The Dream Academy is getting off the ground as the talent is showing the value of their training. They are appearing on other TFC shows such as Home Boy thus learning and improving their skills being interviewed.

As usual co-host Toni Gonzaga shines as her talent improves with her own experience. She radiates in a pure sort of way adding excitement to the show…

ASAP's Sarah Gerinomo has returned to the show after a month on tour of the USA. On yesterdays show she received a Gold Album Award.

Currently airing on the Star World channel are the reruns of Miss Teen USA. He is the shows executive producer..

The reality is that television is not Trumps forte. He made his millions in the real estate business that as he says he loves. One of his most recent projects is building condominiums in Hawaii.

AMAZING RACE

A new repeat series of the Amazing Race is currently being telecast Monday through Friday on the AXN channel.

This series was televised last season and is one of the best of all of the Amazing Races seasons. The cast features an older couple that are about sixty years old who take on the younger generation with some young enough to be their grandchildren. They did quite well and survived several elimination's.

The most outstanding match-up is between two handsome playboys with a limited amount of education that have a lot of smart mouth comments and are after the girls while trying to win the race.

They go against two highly educated geek types who are out to have fun and win the race.

Both of these teams specify each other to beat because the handsome guys offended the intelligent guys. It became a brains vs. the womanizing brawn competition. Who won? Tune in.

The show airs at 7am - noon 8pm and midnight Cambodia/Thailand and an hour earlier Singapore/Hong Kong - check your local listings

THE CONTENDER

The Contender is now down to the final eight fighters.

If there was a show that taught how to coexist THE CONTENDER is it. Sixteen boxers from various areas of the US come together, live together and FIGHT EACH OTHER to win a US $1 million prize.

These fighters are from tough neighborhoods, many from broken homes and for the most part didn't have much of anything as they were growing up.

This is season 2 and is hosted by former boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard. This is a major change on the program as in its first season was hosted by Sylvester Stallone the star of the film Rocky.

Season one champion Sergio Mora took part of his $1,000,000 winnings to buy his mother a home in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. Mora's father left her when the fighter was a youngster. His deed was to show his mother his appreciation of the effort she put forth to raise him with her being a single mother.

This is a show about the survival of the fittest and the will to win.
