ARE PROMISES MADE TO BE BROKEN?

Blake Shelton is in line to be the first two time winner as coach on The Voice. Two of the top 3 remaining contestants Cassadee Pope and Scotland's Terry McDermott have been under Shelton's guidance. But that is just the icing on the Voice cake.

The meat of it all is will judge/coach Christina Aguilera will fulfill her promise to the latest eliminated contestant Trevin Hunte to take him on tour with her and show him the entertainment biz ropes. Hunte finished in 4th place in the shows best season ever that has more emphasis on youth than the first two seasons. Hunte is only 18 with a great voice that could use the experience and the blond bombshell's tutelage.

The hook is that Aguilera did say if he didn't win or OF HE DIDN'T GET A RECORD DEAL. He lost the contest and a record deal could still be in the works. The problem could be if he does sign with a record company would that company permit him to go on the road with Aguilera? The exposure could be good for record sales but the entertainment biz is full of people that get in the way of success. Let's hope Hunte gets the right deal from whomever he winds up with as he is a true talent.

Cee Lo Green's last hope of winning his first title as a coach is on the hands of Nicholas David. David is a shocker in remaining in the contest although with out a doubt he has one of the top voices ever in the Voice's three competitions. Green was the only judge to press his button and turn around when David auditioned for the show.

AMAZING RACE

The finale of the Amazing race turned out to be a surprise as the shows biggest underdogs the TV show Fabulous Beekman Boys stars Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge walked away with the title and the million dollar 1st prize. The twist is the Beekmans never had a first place finish in any of the legs of the race. Their best was two third place finishes in the 10th and 11th leg with the 11th being the first half of a double episode finale.

At the end when all of the teams are assembled to greet the winners there appeared to be no love lost between the thieving Sri Lankan twin sisters and the rockers James and Abba who are in the music business. The twins stole money from the rockers early on in the race. As the camera scanned the room at the finale the rockers faces appeared to be in NO HAPPY LAND as smiles were missing from their faces a justifiably so.

The strange twist to this saga is the only team not to appear in the finale greet was the mother and son team in Race 13 that like James and Abba had their passports stolen by a Russian taxi driver in Moscow. In both cases the two teams left their bags in the taxi to do a task and the drivers took off with their belongings.

IT'S ON!!!

Two shows worth seeing have been airing on the tube. HBO is televising The Inside Job. It is a well done documentary about how the world's financial problems began and the people that are responsible in the decision making process. Given their greed people have lost their homes, gone homeless and committed suicide. The guilty players depicted in the documentary remain on the loose and have been called on by the government for more of their help (?).... ohhh pleaseee. Place that in the world of GO FIGURE.

The Beatles George Harrison bio has been airing on the Star Movie Plus channel in Asia. Harrison now deceased was the most mysterious of the Beatles. Not much was known about him when he was alive but in the doc of real time footage shot while he was alive he claims he was always out and about. What was surprising was he got involved with drugs late in his life and nobody knows the reasons why. Harrison died November 29, 2001 at 58 years of age.

Titled George Harrison: Living in the Material World was a 2011 documentary is a 208 minute film directed by Martin Scorsese. It was shown in the USA on HBO in two parts on 5 and 6 October 2011 in the US and Canada and as a two part Arena special on BBC Two on 12 and 13 November 2011 in the UK. It earned six nominations at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards, winning Outstanding Nonfiction Special and Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming.

Ringo Starr appears in the doc as a guest on a TV show in the doc with Harrison being the main guest. Star revealed that Harrison sued him because he recorded one of Harrison's songs and Harrison wasn't happy with the mix. His songs with the Beatles include "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Something", and "Here Comes the Sun." One of the reasons he gave in quitting the band was he couldn't get many of his songs recorded on their albums which mainly consisted of material written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

This doc is a must get and a keeper and worthy of being added to a music fans video library. The film follows music legend George Harrison's story from his early life in Liverpool, the Beatlemania phenomenon, his travels to India, the influence of Indian culture in his music, and his relevance and importance as a member of The Beatles. It consists of previously unseen footage and interviews with Olivia and Dhani Harrison, friends, and many others.

IRRESPONSIBLE RADIO MADE THE NEWS

The irresponsible radio hosts calling the King Edward VII Hospital in London on Dec. 6 to talk to royalty the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge and former Kate Middleton is reminiscent of a racist hoax in 1998 by a Los Angeles sports radio talk show host and a friend of his in the business in Florida. They talked to each other with a prank interview of the LA host to a LA Dodger so called insider and friend of the team's owner Rupert Murdoch.

The subject was about then Los Angeles Dodger pitcher Hideo Nomo. The pranksters went on for about two hours and talked about how then Murdoch whose company currently owns the Fox Movies Premium, Fox Sports and Star World channels in Asia among others, didn't like Nomo because he didn't speak English. They laughed and taunted about the subject that had the majority of the listeners thinking it was real.

The worst part is ESPN radio proved that they had zero class in later hiring this ignorant individual who now is finding it hard to find a job with his salty insulting style. The good news is nobody committed suicide over the incident but the nurse at the hospital that took the call and put it through to Middleton's room did.

THE APPRENTICE ASIA

If Air Asia founder Tony Fernandes didn't have enough on his plate he's taking on another project in hosting the Asian Apprentice. December 22nd is now the closing for applicants to register on the AXN website. No date has been set for the show to air. Given the selection process and shooting the show itself it could be a year off from making it to your TV screen.

Tuesday nights in East Asia tune in to Scam City & Locked Up Abroad. Scam City is doing a repeat of the Delhi, India episode.
