THE VOICE FINALE

The Voice finale performance show is scheduled to be televised in the USA this Monday with the results show on Tuesday. The Voice is televised a week in advance of the East Asian telecast. The final three acts vying for the title are 16 year-old country singing phenom Danielle Bradbery, the Swon Brothers and the androgynous Michelle Chamuel. Bradbery and the Swon Brothers are also country artists and tutored by two time winning coach Blake Shelton. Chamuel is trained by newcomer Usher. Both Adam Levine and Shakira are out of the running as their last contestants Sasha Allen (Shakira) and Amber Carrington (Levine) were eliminated in the semifinal. That show will be televised this Sunday in East Asia on the AXN channel and the finals next week.

Our choice is for Bradbery to win. She is amazing given her great voice but more so is she didn't have performance experience prior to The Voice. Her mother entered her that has proved to be a supreme motherly decision. The Swon Brothers are our second choice. Chamuel has a quirky style and has been improving each week as her confidence has made a huge leap forward.

IN THE NEWS

Big news this week is Newscorp owner Rupert Murdoch filing for a divorce from Wendy Deng. The 82 year-old Murdoch and Deng have been married for 14 years and have two children. The reason for the proceeding have not been released other than the relationship had broken down irretrievably.

Murdoch's media empire includes Fox films and television networks in the USA as well as Asian channels including Star World, Star Movies Premium and Fox Crime among others. For a short time Murdoch ventured into sports as the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers in America's MLB (Major League Baseball).

Deng has a history of broken relationships. She was sponsored to come to America to attend Cal State Northridge University by a married couple Jake and Joyce Cherry whom she met in China. After entering the United States, Deng lived with the couple for a while when attending the university. Mrs. Cherry suspected her husband was having an affair with Deng (30 years his junior) and demanded she leave the house. Mr. Cherry soon followed and moved in with Deng. The two married in 1990. Deng and Cherry's marriage lasted 2 years and 7 months before they were legally divorced, but he would later explain they only stayed together for 4 or 5 months, after which he learned of the extramarital relationship Deng had with a David Wolf, a man closer to her age. Nonetheless, she had been able to secure a green card through her legal marriage to Cherry.

Her first work experience in the media was with Murdoch's Fox TV. After Fox TV, she was offered an internship with Murdoch's Star TV, Hong Kong, which is a part of his News Corporation. Deng met Rupert Murdoch in Hong Kong in 1997 when she was 29 years old and Murdoch was 66. They married in 1999, less than three weeks after his divorce from ex-wife Anna Maria Torv Murdoch Mann was finalized.

Her greatest claim to fame was when she counter-attacked Jonathan May-Bowles who pied her husband during a highly publicized testimony before a British parliamentary committee in connection with the News International phone hacking scandal. At that time I was in China and it was the second most reported story in the nation. Many Chinese citizens posted blogs with strong negative opinions about Deng. The biggest news of the month was the high speed Bullet Train crash on the route from from Beijing to Fuzhou on Saturday night July 23rd in which 40 people died and 191 were injured.

CNN CONTINUES TO CHEER ON ISRAEL

The Israeli flag and cloud continues to hang over CNN. This past week on the network's African Voices program they featured the Israeli beauty queen Yityish (Titi) Aynaw who is black and was born in Ethiopia. Aynaw moved to Israel at the age of 12 to live with her grandparents following her mother death. Being black she had few friends when she attended school in Israel. One Israeli girl was friendly to her and remained so throughout their time in school.

Due to Israel's conscription policy she entered the military at the age of 19 and served three years. She considered it a maturing process. Her friend in school that Aynaw was so beautiful the she entered her into the Israel beauty contest which she won. It's a beautiful story for a beautiful black Israeli girl. The program raises suspicions on why the emphasis on a black being accepted in a racist Israel.

The host was Sarah Sidner whom we previously noticed making reports during the most recent Israel invasion of Gaza. Her somewhat childish reports were overly strident and antagonistic and towards Gaza and Arabs. Sidner is also black but was she was so vehement in her anti Gaza pro Israel presentations it was shocking and raised concerns why is this black reporter so passionate about Israel. After checking her background we discovered that she is half Jewish.

Titi is not a fool as she recognized the racism that exists in Israel. She added that it is beginning to fade away and should be eliminated throughout the world. Her being drop dead gorgeous, intelligent and articulate can help ease Israel's racist reputation.

Barack Obama is one of Aynaw's biggest fans and he invited her to the White House to meet her. She expressed that he was her role model. In the background of the video selected was Israel's tough talking President Shimon Peres. The question is was this making a black person the winner of an Israel beauty contest politically motivated?

The real test for CNN will be to see if they can be unbiased as news is supposed to be and find a positive non Israeli story about someone or entity that is surviving in Gaza or Palestine. We doubt that CNN is capable or are willing given their pro Israel agenda in promoting them in a positive light.
