Though he's a great talent Casey Abrams has the worst voice in the Top 11 and American Idol is supposed to be a SINGING CONTEST. Now that the Idol judges have used their ONE TIME save up two contestants with better voices will have to be eliminated this week. If you believe in the adage life isn't fair this is it. - SANJAYA'S JENNY FROM THE BLOCK - Recommended TV Listings

TWO WILL SUFFER FOR THE IDOL JUDGES MISTAKE

This season things were going smoothly with American Idol as the new and improved judging panel selected the best talent in the seven seasons that we have been covering the program. The judges proved that they can criticize without demeaning someone. They made no mistakes until last week when the used up their one time save in the 11th position to protect Casey Abrams.

Though Abrams is a truly talented performer some are arguing that he was not worthy of being saved particularly at the 11th spot with so much talent in the group. He even noted that he felt with 11 contestants remaining the judges would never save whoever it was to be in that position and use the save so early. He was beside himself in disbelief that such a decision was made.

The reality is that this is a singing competition and his voice is not as good as the other 10. The bizarre thing is that Abrams probably has the most overall talent and potential to be successful in the entertainment business as an actor, musician and performer.

The judges made their first mistake of the year on this one as indicated by their comments. When judge Randy Jackson stopped Abrams in the middle of his singing his save his bacon song (survival) he blurted out that they knew who he was and he didn't have to sing to save himself. It was noted that they were unanimous in keeping him in the competition.

"This was crazy wrong," judge Steve Tyler said. "We made the decision to keep you on."

In part it seems as though this is a sympathy vote since Abrams suffers from ulcerative colitis which resulted in him missing the Top 13 result show. He's a great guy but his voice doesn't cut it as being the next American Idol with the best voice.

Jackson reinforced our opinion when he advised the 20-year-old, "Be who you are. You don't need to GROWL anymore. You can be anything. You've got the skills."

The growling is something that we commented on in a previous column regarding his performances as using too many affects with his voice.

The bottom line is Abrams goes on and TWO more talented vocalists will be eliminated this week to make up for his being saved. The question is... why isn't life and American Idol FAIR?

SAY WHAT - ???!!!

During the results show last week Idol host Ryan Seacrest totally got it wrong when he introduced guest singing artist Jennifer Hudson. Seacrest said that Hudson was the only former American Idol winner to also win an Oscar (Academy Award for acting in Dream Girls).

The grievous error was Hudson DIDN'T WIN when she competed in Season 3. Hudson finished 7th in the competition after which prompted famed singer Elton John to accuse Idol of being racist. The other notable event that happened at that time was former Idol tyrant judge Simon Cowell said the competition was over her head. Hudson also won a Grammy Award for her vocal talent.

Hudson made a guest appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last week and said that since Cowell made that incredulous remark the he has apologized. How could he not with the talent and success she's had? The other good news is Hudson has a new slim and sexy look after having lost 80 pounds with the Weight Watchers diet.

SANJAYA'S JENNY FROM THE BLOCK

Well we all know that judge Jennifer Lopez is well endowed in the posterior. When I was hosting the Caltex Drive time Show it prompted me to say that she had to buy two seats to get on the plane. The now 40 something J Lo seems to get better with age as she appeals to contestants young enough to be her children.

We Googled our previous American Idol stories and up jumped in second place Sanjaya Malakar saying how much he was interested in her after she functioned as a mentor for the contestants that season.

This season during the auditions one hopeful said his friends said he had a J Lo. He turned his back to the judges and patted his rump.

During another audition a contestant expressed his interest for her and asked, "How old are you?" "Young enough for you," Miss Booty replied. Nuff said.

The interesting thing about Lopez is that she has mellowed since she married Marc Anthony and they had a child. She now has a glow that she never had. In the past she appeared angry with a growl on her face. Regarding all of the interest in Marc Anthony's now wife.... HOME BOYS DON'T PLAY DAT HITTEN ON DER WOMEN. Ya know what I'm say-yin?
