THE TRUTH HAS YET TO BE TOLD

Here we go again with CNN's ongoing coverage of the child sex trade in Cambodia with a documentary/INFOMERCIAL titled, "Every Day in Cambodia." This farcical piece first aired in December 2013 after weeks of publicity. We anxiously waited wanting to see what spin CNN would have on it's numerous reports about the same subject over the years that have resulted in nothing to change the situation but only to raise money for the NGO's that they endorse.

That program aired only once and was scrapped which was unusual as in the past documentaries of this type CNN repeats over and over again throughout the month. The problem we have with the program is the divergent lies and half truths that unfold during the program.

For starters the promotion of the program has Sorvino saying to a group of traffickers, "It's not OK to sell children, it's not OK."

The problem with that is in the original version of the program when she asked the NGO official that is featured in the piece if the traffickers spoke English. He replied NO. She then went on the make her, "It's not OK statement which only servers to spice up the program and she knowingly knew that the traffickers couldn't understand what she was saying as it was ALL FOR THE CNN CAMERAS. In the process she is making a fool of herself.

The other red flag is when Sorvino talked with Cambodian government officials she pointed out that many in government and the police are involved in the sex trade. Her point was spot on but stonewalled. Sorvino quickly went on to other matters while not pursuing one of the major factors on the child sex trade.

The third red flag was they told the story of a child that was sent to a casino/hotel to have sex with a Chinese customer. While the information was being presented they showed a photo of the Naga Hotel Casino. Sorvino and CNN failed to interview the management of the hotel as to why they would permit a child in the hotel to have sex with a Chinese man. Given that the hotel is also a gambling casino they have guards and security cameras throughout its structure.

They knew who the customer was and the date the violations occurred, therefore why didn't they ask for security video and arrest the client? If he's out of the country he most likely will return.

It will be interesting to see in this edition of the program if they edited out what we noted in our previous review of the program. CNN has a history of presenting distorted information that goes back to when Anderson Cooper came to Phnom Penh years ago and stood on the railroad tracks in Toul Kok to state how bad the child sex trade is in Cambodia.

They then sent an individual that we deemed the Rhinestone Rambo who was filming inside brothels with a watch camera. He then organized a raid on a brothel with the cooperation of the police only to arrive and find that the building was EMPTY. How stupid can this jerk have been? He's doing a report and doesn't know how things work in Asia.

The Rhinestone Rambo then panicked and took the first plane he could get out of the country fearing for his life. Our research later revealed that he was at the Beverly Hills Hotel raising money for his next Rambo adventure.

The other point is the child sex trade in Asia has been going on for centuries. We first became aware of it 25 years ago in Thailand where it is prevalent. Why is CNN making a point of exposing Cambodia when it is an Asian tradition?

The other point is that the documentary "Red Light" funded by the Netherlands Embassy in Bangkok reveals that in Cambodia that 90% of the child sex trade is practiced by Khmers not foreigners. The other important point that CNN fails to disclose is the age of consent in Cambodia is 15 which is considered a child by Western standards. If the NGO's focus is on foreigners then the trade will not only continue but the NGO slime will continue to have their jobs of only talking and doing nothing about the root cause of the problem.... JOBS FOR THE POOR.

The point is this... why continue on making films and news specials about something they can do nothing about but raise money for their friendly NGO's that come to Asia like parasites to live off the sufferings of others. The problem is the lack of money and JOBS that make families sell their children into the trade because they took a small loan of a few hundred dollars that they couldn't pay then give up their children as payment to work off the debt.

The answer is creating JOBS. The money the UN spent sending Sorvino to Cambodia on a most likely a first class air ticket could be used to create business for the poor to survive so they won't sell their children. Logic has it that there are 14 million Khmer citizens. If each were given $1 million they wouldn't have to sell their children. Logic has it that those with money wouldn't qualify' therefore there is more money to invest in businesses that can employ and train the poor.

We have published stories that are examples of those NGO's that are making a difference. They include DDD (Digital Divide Data), KIDS Internet (now defunct) and Mith San Lanh. These organizations have trained and employed people who have moved up the employment ladder following their job experience and training with some moving to other countries and make thousands of dollars a month.

If CNN wants to do something about the problem then CREATE JOBS not SENSATIONALIZE a bad situation that they design simply to attract viewers to bolster their ratings. Every Day in Cambodia is scheduled to air tonight Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the Southeast Asian region on CNN. Watch out for repeats throughout the week by checking your local listings.

CHANNEL NEWS ASIA's SIGNIFICANT Missing Malaysian Airplane PERSPECTIVE

This week Channel News Asia has been televising and excellent report related to the disappearance of the Malaysian airplane. The report delves into one of the revelations that two of the passengers on the missing flight were flying on stolen passports. Both passports were last located in Phuket, Thailand where they were used to rent motorbikes.

The report revealed how many shady foreigners from the Middle East and Europe are living in Thailand including some staying on tourist visas but own businesses. The report also focused on the crime in Bangkok's Khao San Road and Pattaya where false documents can be obtained and where numerous foreigners living and visiting there are suspected of practicing illegal activities thus creating a demand for stolen passports.

One of the stolen passports used to purchase a ticket on the missing plane was picked up at a motorbike rental in Phuket by a man. It was late at night and an older man employee failed to check the person's identity thoroughly. The owner of the passport later turned up stating that he is not on the missing plane and is now somewhat of a celebrity in Thailand. The problem is he will not agree to an interview with the media.

What compounds the suspicious activity is that passports can be sold in Thailand for $1,000. That leaves a loophole where an individual can sell his passport then report it stolen and receive a replacement.

A European counselor who claims that his 12 years of service qualifies him as being the longest standing counselor in Thailand advised NEVER leave your passport with anyone. He noted that sometimes bar owners hold an individuals passport because they can't pay their bill which is and indication of the seedy type of alcohol addicted foreigners that Thailand attracts.

If it's news and truth that you're looking for it is wise to check several sources from different nations and not rely the bias reports from CNN, Fox News and other US news organizations who are supporting the illegal actions of the US government and Israel.

We cross reference reports on several news channels from various countries including Singapore's Channel News Asia, Australia's Australian Network, England's BBC and Russia's RT News.

We then compare the information with the propaganda and biased opinions that emanates from CNN. Since each has their own perspective some video footage, perspectives and information are never telecast on CNN. CNN's apparent objective is to promote and cast America in a positive light and in doing so they avoid telling the TRUTH.
