The answer to who the I'm A celebrity Get Me Out of Here reality show winner is - This new cycle is titled Amazing Race 15 featuring 12 teams of two, with a pre-existing relationship will return to Cambodia - Recommended TV Listings

Monday October 5, 2009

FYI - I'M A CELEBRITY

Actor Lou Diamond Philips was the winner of the I'm A celebrity Get Me Out of Here reality show. Lady wrestler Torrie Wilson finished second and former NBA player John Salley third.

AMAZING RACE USA - A NEW TWIST

In a new twist to the very successful Amazing race USA reality show a team was eliminated at the starting line. The challenge was to search for license plates with a phrase in Japanese listed on their clue from the district of Tokyo they were going to. When they were done, they had to bring the plate to host Phil Keoghan and they received a plane ticket for an airplane to Tokyo. The team that didn't find the license plate was eliminated at the mat at the Los Angeles River Basin.

The team of Eric Paskel (41) and his wife of 18 years Lisa Paskel (43) failed to do that and were eliminated before making a trip. The two yoga studio owners and instructors took the loss in good stride as they put a positive spin on the result by saying that their loss gave someone else a chance. They won't have for to go when they return home as they reside in Encino, California which is roughly 10 miles from the site where they were eliminated.

This new cycle is titled Amazing Race 15 featuring 12 teams of two, with a pre-existing relationship will return to Cambodia. In a previous series they visited Siem Reap and the temples of Angkor Wat. Apparently the producers are a bit more daring as this time the show will visit Phnom Penh. It will be interesting to see what they think is interesting enough to visit in a city that has numerous sites relating to monuments of death and their tragic experience the country experienced with the Khmer Rouge genocide.

Some interesting participants this season include two female professional poker players Maria Ho (26); Tiffany Michelle (25) who finished last in the first leg but it was a non elimination leg. They are assuming the role of the fly in the ointment since they told the other entrants that they worked for a non-profit NGO working with children. Their lie was found out after they were recognized in Tokyo and the news got around to their competitors. They lied seeking sympathy and felt that if the others knew they had won a lot of money as poker players they wouldn't receive help from the other contestants in the race.

Ericka Dunlap (27) was Miss America 2004. Her husband of two years Brian Kleinschmidt (27) is a Marketing Tour Manager. They are the first ever interracial couple on the Amazing Race. They have a singular game plan in mind - to win over the hearts and minds of The Amazing Race audience by proving that true love is color blind. They compare their relationship to the Yin-Yang symbol, which represents the philosophy of two total opposites coming together as one to accomplish a common goal.

Herbert Lang (32); Nathaniel Lofton (28) are professional basketball players with the famed Harlem Globetrotters. Standing at 6'3," Herb is known among his colleagues as "Flight Time." Nathaniel, who goes by the name "The Big Easy," towers over the competition at 6'9," and admits to being worried that seating could present a problem on some of the flights.

Both have traveled extensively with the Globetrotters. Herbert has traveled to over 60 countries, and Nathaniel has traveled to over 30 countries. Despite their love of exploring new places, and their extensive knowledge of other countries, they're eager to see how well they can travel together when it is just the two of them.

This week the show will be on its third leg. The season opener was a tow hour special that included the first two legs. Amazing Race airs Monday nights on the AXN Network with reruns throughout the week. Check your local listings for the time in your area.

AMERICAN IDOL RERUNS TRANSLATED IN KHMER LANGUAGE

It seems that American Idols licensing partner Freemantle Media is doing business in Cambodia as Cambodia's My TV is airing reruns of the show with Khmer translations on Sunday afternoons. My TV is positioned in the channel previously designated for the CTN (Cambodian Television Network) International channel. That channel has been moved to a less favorable position from 51 to 68 which is at the end of the channel spectrum on many of the older TV sets in Cambodia.
