Is Floyd Mayweather playing BLOOD head GAMES with Manny Pacquiao because he's afraid he will lose? - DEWALT POWER TOOLS FIGHT NIGHT CLUB 2010 photo

SPORTS NOTES - Floyd MAYWEATHER Keeps Playing BLOOD GAMES

James Loving/National Radio Text Service

HOW TOUGH is Mayweather? When he last fought Marcos Maidana, Mayweather complained and cried out about being bitten on the hand. HOW COULD Maidana BITE THROUGH A GLOVE WITH A MOUTHPIECE IN HIS MOUTH? That begs the question…. IS MAYWEATHER A SCARED CRY BABY?

LET'S GET IT ON!!!

When you put into perspective that it took over five years for the fight between Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao come to fruition the Money Man does it again by throwing and mind F into the upcoming event. Pacquiao requested that there be a drug test where there would be a penalty which would cost either man $5 million in the event of a failed test before or after their May 2nd fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather declined to agree to those terms. It was the drug test issue that Mayweather insisted on for Pacquiao to take when the fight was first proposed five years ago. It was an insult to the Pac Man and the fight never materialized.

This time the shoe was on the other foot since Mayweather has refused to agree to a test. AGAIN it raises the question is Mayweather afraid of Pacquiao? Why the repeated head games on his part?

In our previous Sports Notes column we gave the edge to Mayweather to defeat Pacquiao given he has been more active against tougher competition and is undefeated. Pacquiao has been facing inferior competition and has suffered five losses and two draws during his career compared to Mayweather's unbeaten record.

With that said with the Pac man is spread so thin it raises the question why is Mayweather blowing smoke up everyone's ass by refusing to take a blood test? The point is... does Mayweather's camp see something in Pacquiao's style that could give the Filipino the edge and result in a fight that Mayweather could lose and the tactic is to distract Pacquiao by playing head games?

Mayweather's other advantage is that we believe that Pacquiao's life is spread too thin given that he is an elected politician in the Philippines where he also owns and plays for a professional basketball team. Pac Man loves to perform and makes television and theatrical appearances. His biggest detriment is that he loves to party too hearty with his entourage.

Styles make a difference as Pacquiao's toughest opponent Juan Manuel Márquez has a style that is perfect to beat Pacquiao. The Pac Man suffered a lot of punishment in all three fights he has had against him. Their fights resulted in each winning once with one draw. The difference being Marquez KO'd Pacquiao in their last fight December 8, 2012 and Pacquiao won on a majority decision December 12, 2011, a fight that some feel he lost. These battles are similar to the poundings that both Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali dealt each other during their slug fests.

Another point about the Mayweather, Pacquiao match-up is… REALLY… HOW TOUGH is the Money Man? It seems every time he fights the commentators appear to be his fans when commenting how great a boxing technician he is. They always favor Mayweather in all of his exchanges and some of those comments could be questioned.

When he last fought Marcos Maidana, Mayweather complained and cried out about being bitten on the hand by Maidana in the 8th round. He then claimed that his hand was numb as a result of the alleged bite and he couldn't fight as effectively as he could. As usual Mayweather's outburst caused another distraction and drew attention to his apparent plea that life isn't fair to him.

The fight commentators showed replays over and over again trying to justify Mayweather's allegation. The replay video was never clear and Maidana maintained that Mayweather was rubbing his glove into his eyes. He and his camp then made the most intelligent assessment of the situation, HOW COULD HE BITE THROUGH A GLOVE WITH A MOUTHPIECE IN HIS MOUTH? That begs the question…. IS MAYWEATHER A SCARED CRY BABY?

When Mayweather's friend, singer Justin Bieber, joined the fighters on stage at the pre fight press conference Pacquiao looked back at Bieber and appeared to walk off in disgust. This could be a telling moment since Pacquiao has some fury to release given the numerous head games over the years from Mayweather. Should Pacquiao release all of his talent and his pent up anger to repay the Money Man for all of the troubles he has caused over a five year period and... return to the aggressive fighter he once was, he could hand Mayweather his first defeat and take his title from him. Should that occur… there is nothing his friend Justin Bieber could do about it but sing a sad song.
