Testone got the most out of her talent in reaching the 6th position. The judges and American Idol in house mentor Jimmy Iovine continue to promote Phillip Phillips to be in the final and provide excuses that he is ill. Contestants joke about Phillips being ill saying that he's being excused from having to do activities that they must do i.e. he's being given SPECIAL TREATMENT. Jennifer Lopez's interest in Phillips raises some concerns of the previous former judge Paul Abdul with contestant Cory Clark relationship in season 2 - Recommended TV Listings

THE PHILLIP PHILLIPS MYSTERY CONTINUES

Club band singer Elise Testone was eliminated from American Idol this week at the # 6 position. Testone outlived her shelf life as she was in the bottom three six of her eight weeks on the show as well as being saved in the round of 13.

To her credit Testone proved to be a hard worker and showed her toughness in coming back week after week fighting trying to be worthy of NOT being voted into the bottom three. She was always one of the voices that we liked the least but we rate her higher than Phillip Phillips.

"Phillip is really having a rough time. He's not feeling well," plugged Idol's in house mentor Jimmy Iovine who is on the PROMOTE THE PHILLIPS bandwagon. Iovine's most blatant over the top statement was saying that Phillips performance this week "Left an opening for someone else OTHER THAN PHILLLIP to be in the FINAL. His pointing out how sick Phillips was is a plea for the SYMPATHY VOTE.

Why is he so sure that Phillips would be in the final.... doesn't America vote?

When interviewed on the performance show prior to their second song of the evening some contestants joked about Phillips faking his being ill so he would be excused from doing some of the duties that other contestants are required to do.

Phillips is the least talented of the Top 25 yet week after week is PROMOTED and PRAISED by Iovine and the judges as and how talented he is being in the final. Are these people going crazy or what?

Their over the top promotion of Phillips has resulted in him being the ONLY contestant never to have been voted into the bottom three. Jennifer Lopez his biggest fan and heartthrob made another outrageous statement after his second song performance this week by saying out of her concern of his song choices that it was, "Each one of you ahs a chance to win, ESPECIALLY YOU PHILLIP. I NEED YOU TO DO SONGS that will get you on that last show (FINAL) SO YOU CAN WIN!"

WHAT! WHY is she so in love with this dude? Do we have another HOT TO TROT FOR CONTESTANTS as in the past with the Paula Abdul situation when Abdul allegedly HAD SEX with a contestant Cory Clark in Season 2?

Clark was dismissed from the show after he made it to the Top 12. It was similar to this seasons Jermaine Jones incident that he wasn't vetted properly that he had an arrest record.

Two years after his dismissal Clark began making allegations about his relationship with Abdul. Clark stated in his E-book, They Told Me to Tell the Truth, So...: The Sex, Lies and Paulatics of One of America's Idols and in a May 2005 interview with ABC's Primetime Live that Idol judge Paula Abdul took him under her wing, beginning on December 12, 2002, and coached him on how to succeed in the competition, including helping him select the right songs, clothes, and hairstyle, in order to avoid the show's "exploitation" of young hopefuls' careers like himself, and that this mentorship developed into a three-month-long sexual relationship.

Lopez's comments and conduct raises the question Is the Lopez, Phillips saga another scandalous situation as the Abdul, Clark affair? SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE.

During the results show they ran a video clip of the contestants being interviewed on the salacious gossip show TMZ. One of the shows reporters told Phillips, "When Jennifer Lopez tells you that you are sexy and hot OWN THAT because it has worked out for a bunch of other guys."

This week Skyler Laine and Joshua Ledet were the best on the show yet Laine was (supposedly) voted into the bottom three. We inject supposedly because we are suspicious that the voting is rigged and decisions are made by Idol officials as to who they want to continue in the contest to BOOST viewer ratings.

Phillips is being promoted as a heart throb and draws the young girl's votes which are good for one of their main sponsors Coca Cola. One thing is certain and that is there WILL NOT BE TWO MINORITIES in the final as that would not be good for ratings that have dropped 30% this year over previous seasons.

The no ugum-boogums in the finals situation came to light (in our opinion) during season six when Lakisha Jones was voted off in the 4th position. That was the season won by Jordin Sparks. That season the Top 4 was Jones, Melinda Doolittle and Sparks who are all black. Blake Lewis, who is talented but doesn't have nearly the quality of voice as the black female contestants went through with the result being that Jones was suspiciously eliminated from the show.

Of the four Jones clearly had the BEST VOICE. Her problem was she was the least marketable due to her not being as attractive as the other three contestants. In our opinion for Idol to have an ALL BLACK FINAL THREE would be a ratings disaster and create uproar with sponsors.

This season's Phillips scenario is similar to that season as he is being promoted to promote ratings not because he is as talented as the judges say TOO OFTEN while being indifferent (by contrast) to the MORE TALENTED contestants.

Of the Top 5 Sanchez clearly has the best voice with Laine and Ledet tied for second. That is a separation of styles and the country and rock votes (if counted) are more supportive of their music genre.

Laine is the most prepared to take the stage and perform professionally. She has professional talent and CONFIDENCE. Hollie Cavanagh has a great voice but is lacking confidence.

Should Phillips win this contest there should be an congressional investigation as this season stinks of the payola scandals in the 50's and 60's record business.
