PRINCESS DIANA'S 'GROWING UP DIANA' on CNN

You can say what you want about CNN's excessive coverage of wars and gloom of doom but every once in a while they do something right buy covering constructive story and revealing information that doesn't relate to war.

The 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's unfortunate death on August 31, 1997 provided such an opportunity and the CNN Special Investigation's Unit Special regarding Diana's life growing up in her parents broken marriage and feeling unwanted as a child.

The program follows her life from birth and living on a 550-acre estate through her school years until she married and became a princess at the age of nineteen.

For the past three months Diana has been in the news firstly because of the benefit concert put on by her sons in her honor followed by a book release of her ancestry, a documentary on the Discover channel investigating the conditions of the accident and now the inquest that has been opened regarding her death. All of these events have maintained Diana's almost perfect image in the public's eye. She was giving and cared for others.

The CNN special has video and pictures of Diana when she was a young and shy to a person who grew up recognizing the needs of others regardless of her own stature.

For me the information is timely since in a distant way I feel somewhat attached to her story since I was the chauffeur of Dodi al-Fayed for a period of time who was her boyfriend and also died in that fatal car crash in Paris.

Dodi's father Mohammed al-Fayed the owner of Harrods department store in London and the Fulham football club in the English Premiere League considers that their deaths was no accident but that they were murdered by the royal family.

With my experience of knowing what kind of security is involved when driving such high profile figures and working with Dodi's American bodyguard their deaths are very suspicious. The CNN special also mentions the tragic accident. 'Growing Up diana' is a program worth watching. Check your local listings for time and dates.

PIRATE MASTER & TOP MODEL FINAL THIS WEEK

PIRATE MASTER - As they say 'It Ain't Over Till It's Over' and for the Pirate Master and Top Model reality series it will all be over this week.

The Pirate Master series has been marred by controversy and adversity since it started. The series captures the worst in human behavior as contestants hunt for one million US dollars of treasure in the Caribbean Sea. Greed, deceit and abhorrent behavior surfaces as the contestants lie and cheat virtually each week for weekly treasures mostly worth US $40,000 that the captain can keep or split with his winning team and crew that find the treasure.

Deals were made as to who would cover the others back. Some deals were broken resulting in distrust and anger. One female contestant committed suicide after being dismissed from the show. She claimed that being on the series created problems with her boyfriend.

The show was dropped from the regular programming lineup by the CBS television network citing bad ratings and reviews. It was then only accessible by the Internet in the USA. The program continues to air on the AXN cable network in Asia.

This past week Louie was cast adrift. He was the most loved by everyone on the ship. His teammate Ben sabotaged him when looking for the treasure so the other team with whom he made a pact to split the treasure evenly no matter which of them was on the opposing team.

Ben was the first to find the clue to the treasure but pretended that he didn't see it and then stirred up the mud at the bottom of the stream so his partner Louie couldn't find it. If it's sick you're looking for this show has it.

Now there are only three to find the ultimate final treasure of US ½ million dollars. They are each on their own as the team concept has been disbanded.

The captain has been a female and formerly in the US military. She has been used by Jay all along to keep her in power so she would take the heat for decisions that he plotted. His strategy was two faced while scheming and playing all sides to be everyone's friend. As he said he's do anything to win the treasure and become the Pirate Master.

This week the decision will be made in a two hour special that will air an hour earlier. In the past the show aired at 8 PM in the Cambodian time zone. This week it will start at 7 PM on Wednesday night followed by repeats during the week. There is no specific time for the repeats. Check the AXN website for that information.

It's the back stabber verses the sabotage man, verses the lady. Who will win in this game of deceit? Tune in and find out. This concept for a series is worth forgetting but worth a look too see what evil is all about.

TOP MODEL

As the Top Model song goes 'Do You Wanna Be On Top?' Well for me it depends on what you're talking about for Top Model the decision who will be America's Next top Model will be made Monday night October 8 followed by repeats of the show throughout the week.

The three finalists are a Russian who is believed to be a liar by the other girls, an American who is perceived to be obnoxious and a Hispanic who tried out for the show in the past and was eliminated in the preliminary rounds. See the schedule below for repeats.
