AMERICAN IDOL TO PLAY THEIR RACE CARD?

The conspiracy game continues on American Idol as their promotion in Asia claims, "The dark horse in this competition is PHILLIP (Phillips). Ohhh Pleaseee… This is an out right LIE. Is this an application of reverse psychology to stimulate votes for Phillip Phillips?

If America's votes are counted as we are led to believe of who will be eliminated how can they explain that PHILLIPS IS THE DARK HORSE GIVEN THAT HE IS THE ONLY CONTESTANT NEVER TO HAVE BEEN VOTED INTO THE BOTTOM THREE? The two other remaining competitors Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet HAVE been there. Sanchez was voted off the show but rightfully saved by the judges while Ledet has been in the red zone TWICE yet Idol's powers that be want to lead viewers to believe that Phillips is the DARK HORSE.

When one comes from an investigative journalism background you view things differently than a groupie writer trying to fit into a clique or was bought out by gifts and favors from Idol or its associates, the sponsors or the Fox television network or a fan. We know the game having been there as a former member of the Television Critics Association.

Many of the reports we've read indicate that the writers range from being bought out, fans or groupies who can't identify with what an octave or vocal range is. It's like having a plumber do your electrical work. Both are tradesman but unqualified for the others job.

In our university investigative journalism course we were taught the basics of how easy it is to spot a red flag or something fishy is in the works.

As we noted in our previous column this will be the week that one of the shows true super talents either Sanchez or Ledet will be eliminated. The reason being is Idol and their powers that be are apparent racists and there never was nor never will be two minorities in the final two thus one of the two best singers remaining will be eliminated this week.

Disregard the eye candy of many minorities in the band and vocal support or that judge Randy Jackson is black. Hispanic Jennifer Lopez has a name and that gives her special status and Idol needs her celebrity identity to add value to the show. She's also managed by the shows creator Simon Fuller.

Hopefully we're wrong but the trend of favoring Phillips has been going in this direction from the start. The judges and Iovine have been making excuses for his shortcomings while at the same time praising him since his audition that began in North Charleston, South Carolina to the call back on July 22, 2011 Hyatt Regency, Savannah, Georgia where he did his face to face audition with the judges. For some strange unknown reason there is an effort to push Phillips in front of the public's eye in an overly positive light.

We checked You Tube for a video of the contestant that Jennifer Lopez was reported to have been flirting with thinking it was Phillips. We couldn't locate it but the search resulted in our coming across his audition for the judges when he sang Superstition and Thriller. Lopez almost lost it claiming that he sounded like JAMES BROWN. WHAT!!!

She went on to say how impressed she was of his talent as he stomped his foot when he sang. Throughout the two songs he had difficulty singing the high notes.

We came across a list on Wikipedia of the ALL the contestants on the show that was listed in the order of those eliminated. At the bottom of the list is Jeremy Rosado the first eliminated. From there it is in sequence as they departed from the program.

At the top of the list are the three remaining contestants with Ledet 1st, Phillips 2nd and Sanchez 3rd. If that bears out to be a reality Sanchez will be eliminated this week.

We check the lists following each elimination. The week that Rosado was eliminated he was at the bottom of the list. The top three that week was DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh and Colton Dixon all since eliminated.

That week's list had Sanchez 10th, Phillips 9th and Ledet 7th. The point being is that the list has been changed and adjusted since that week. The unending promotion of no talent Phillip Phillips continued last week and he survived over the more talented Hollie Cavanagh who was as they say voted off the show by (supposedly) AMERICA. The problem is we never really know how the votes are supposedly tabulated and who is Telescope the company that audits the Idol final votes. That company isn't listed on the Internet thus no contact information is available.

Idol's in house mentor Jimmy Iovine said last week of one of Phillips performances that he finally reached the potential they expected of him. What do they expect from an over rated contestant who has about an octave vocal range and zero quality in his voice. He often makes mistakes and can't sing the high notes of a song.

For some mysterious reason he has been supported by the judges, host Ryan Seacrest and Iovine who repeatedly make excuses why he wasn't so good or as good as he could be. That raises the question if he didn't perform up to expectations why does he remain in the contest and is the only one designated to be the only contestant not to be in the bottom three all season.

TV ratings make a difference in decision making. The show claims that 60-70 million votes have been counted this past two weeks yet the show only had 16.6 million viewers for the Top 5 performance show and 15.56 million viewers for the Top 5 results show according to the respected Nielsen television ratings. The very first Savannah auditions are the seasons high with 21.93 million viewers.

If the numbers are correct given the number of votes each viewer voted roughly FOUR times. We didn't vote DID YOU?

The Asian promotion states that the program has 30 million viewers worldwide in 16 countries. Where is the truth or how do these numbers on steroids come about? No sense in nonsense and this season American Idol DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

He auditioned in North Charleston, singing "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" with the guitar. He performed "I Only Have Eyes For You" with Heejun Han, Neco Starr, and Jairon Jackson. Many people have compared his vocal style to that of Dave Matthews, whom he has also noted as an influence. As of April 19, 2012, he is the only contestant this season to not have been in the Bottom 3 yet.

* Jessica Sanchez (born August 4, 1995 is a Filipino-Mexican-American from San Diego, California. She was born in Chula Vista, California. Before Idol, she was known for her appearance on the first season of America's Got Talent where she was brought back by judge Brandy during the show's wildcard round. Sanchez also participated in the YouTube edition of "We Are the World" along with 56 other YouTube artists, including American Idol season 10 finalist Thia Megia. She was saved from elimination by the judges after receiving the lowest number of votes in the top seven round, making her the first female contestant to be saved by the judges.
