CENSORED OR NOT?: -( Continued from: Israel's Prisoner X Zygier had a history of suicide attempts

Israel's influence of the main stream American media appears obvious in the manner that they choose not to report stories regarding alliances they have with various nations and business interests. CNN is the most blatant violator of this theory. That is apparent in their ZERO COVERAGE of Israel's Prisoner X. It raises the question what is CNN'S relationship with Israel given their always positive reports about as RT News describes Israel as a nation of soldiers. The bias apparently stems from CNN is cluttered with employees that have a family history of being involved in the holocaust yet... believe it or not... CNN feels they can make unbiased reports regarding Israel and problems in the Middle East. To portray it is as a conflict of interest is up to you.

The cause of Zygier's death has been the matter of some speculation but CNN ignored coverage. CNN's cover-up or not Ynet posted on 27 December 2010 that an inmate at Ayalon Prison had committed suicide two weeks prior by hanging himself, but the story was suppressed. ABC's exposé claimed that a death certificate for a Ben Alon (the name Zygier adopted when he immigrated to Israel) was issued by a coroner at the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute. The cause of death was listed as asphyxiation by hanging, and the location of death as Ramla, the city which hosts Ayalon Prison.

According to the ABC, the cell in which he was held was supposedly suicide-proof and constantly monitored by surveillance cameras, leading it to question how Zygier was able to hang himself. However the chief of Israel's prison service rejected the claims saying that the cell was not specially supervised, nor was it considered suicide proof. The prison service also stated that it wanted Ben Zygier's complete supervision orders made public, which it believes would mitigate its responsibility.

Israel's Channel 10 TV news cited unnamed members of Zygier's rescue crew who claimed the inmate hanged himself in the bathroom, out of view of surveillance cameras. A photograph from surveillance footage during Yigal Amir's incarceration in Unit 15 appears to show a separate, adjacent room from the main cell containing a shower and bathroom. A supposed transcript of a phone call from the prison to the Magen David Adom emergency services was read aloud on Channel 10 news, in which the caller reportedly said, "He's hanged himself", and requested a mobile intensive care unit.

An investigation by the Israel Prison Service concluded that Zygier hanged himself from the bars in his cell bathroom. Zygier took a sheet to the bathroom, presumably on the pretense of washing it, and tied it to the bars on his window without guards noticing. Zygier had not been placed on suicide watch, and as a result, the guards only checked on him every 20-25 minutes rather than every few minutes.

Six weeks before the emergence of the ABC report, a lengthy inquiry by Israeli magistrate judge Daphna Blatman Kedrai concluded that it was suicide. Kedrai recommended that a further inquiry be drawn into whether Israeli prison authorities were negligent in his death. After the ABC report was released, the Israeli government refused to comment, but reportedly asked media chiefs not to publish "information pertaining to an incident that is very embarrassing to a certain government agency".

According to the Israeli news website Ynet, Prisoner X's attorneys and family were required to sign nondisclosure agreements with the government, preventing them from acknowledging or denying aspects of the case reported in the press. Ynet also reported that the heads of the Israeli intelligence community met in private on 14 February to discuss strategies for minimizing the affair's damage to active operations.

CNN has a history of biased reporting and serving the public a large dose of misinformation. Amongst the criticisms levied against CNN, as well as the other major US news channels, is the charge that CNN took a lenient approach to the Bush administration, particularly after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States.

At the 2002 Newsworld Asia conference held in Singapore, the executive vice-president and general manager of CNN International, was quoted as saying: "Anyone who claims the US media didn't censor itself is kidding you. It wasn't a matter of government pressure but a reluctance to criticize anything in a war that was obviously supported by the vast majority of the people. And this isn't just a CNN issue - every journalist who was in any way involved in 9/11 is partly responsible."

Invasion of Iraq

The overused term Weapons of Mass Destruction that led to the invasion of Iraq was first spoken by John Negroponte and not those who later took the blame. Negroponte currently is working at a large US university. Apparently ethics matter not in the hiring process. That lie and deception has led to thousands of American soldiers to die, lose limbs or be disfigured for life. Was this for democracy or... FOR OIL?

Critics take particularly strong exception to the handling of the Bush administration's rhetoric leading up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. CNN's then-chief correspondent Christiane Amanpour characterized the behavior of the news media, which she supported and had a major part in it, as "self-muzzling" and as "cheerleaders for the Bush war drive against Iraq". An editorial in the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung compared CNN war coverage to "live coverage of the Super Bowl", and the Qatar based Al Jazeera news network has criticized CNN for portraying U.S. soldiers as heroes.

During the Persian Gulf War, CNN was criticized for excessively pushing human interest stories and avoiding depictions of violent images; the result of all this being an alleged 'propagandistic' presentation of news. A report by FAIR quotes an unnamed CNN reporter as describing "the 'sweet beautiful sight' of bombers taking off from Saudi Arabia."

The most pertinent question is WHY are AP (Associated Press and FOX News being investigated by the US Government and not CNN?

NOTE

The irony is CNN does report positive meaningless stories from Cambodia such as fireworks celebrations while innocent civilians are being murdered by the government and people in high place doing business with the government. More disgusting is CNN has their greedy little hands out to accept Cambodian government money for ads on CNN to promote Cambodian tourism which apparently to CNN is more important than reporting THE NEWS.
