Yueru Li has Finally Landed in Happy Land

It's been a rocky WNBA start for China's Li Yueru. She was drafted by the Atlanta Dream in 2019 but decided to continue to play in China instead. Li started her professional career in China. She played for the Guangdong Dolphins (2015-2020) and Inner Mongolia (2020-2023) of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA).

She also plays on China's national team. The 26-year-old center participated at the 2017 FIBA Women's Asia Cup. She competed for the Chinese national team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where she led the team in points, rebounds, efficiency and field goal percentage.

Her international credentials failed to ear her the respect she deserves in the WNBA... basically she was living in… NO HAPPY LAND. Li moved around the league from trades to the Chicago Sky in 2022 but missed the following season due to an injury suffered in play overseas.

In 2024 she was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks. This season she was traded to the Seattle Storm. In each case she was not receiving playing time.

Chinese officials requested that she receive more playing time but they were ignored.

The 6'7" center then requested a trade this season from the Storm. It was granted and Li moved on to the Dallas Wings.

The Wings were wallowing at the bottom of the WNBA standings with a 1-9 record when she joined.

At the beginning her playing time wasn't much but increased with each game as she became more familiar with the Wings system. The upside to the trade although the Wings were floundering around with losses she teams up with the WNBA's rising star and All Star game selection rookie Paige Bueckers.

Since Li's arrival, the Wings have improved to 6-12 as well as Li was on a winning side during her time on the squad with a 5-4 record. From the beginning Li was averaging about 20 minutes per game and almost 5 rebounds per game during those minutes. Last night Li had her best game with the Wings leading the team with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4-7 shooting from behind the arc in 31 minutes of play. The lady can spread the floor with her shooting range.

Finally Li is having an opportunity to play and display her talents. It appears that the Wings are a good fit for Li and she has finally landed in HAPPY LAND.

The WNBA's San Francisco team has sold out every home game of 18.064 seats in its inaugural season. They lead the league in home game sell outs.

&

The Dallas Wings normally play at the 7,000-seat College Park Center on the Texas-Arlington campus, about 20 miles from downtown Dallas. The Wings, who relocated in 2016 from Tulsa, Oklahoma, are planning to move into a renovated arena at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas in the next year or two.

The LA Clippers Lawrence Frank said. "We are one of the two oldest teams in the league and we are going to over time have to have an infusion of younger talent -- not to replace the guys we have, just to add to them, and you are able to do that through free agency, the draft and trades. The problem is for the Clippers TIME HAS RUN OUT. As Charles Barkley would say… DAY OL (They're old).

UFC

SHOW ME THE NIGGER YO MAH NIGGER.

Well the Nigerian Nightmare saved face for Israel Adesanya who called out South African Dricus DuPlease. The bottom line is don't call out white UFC niggers, those guys are not Emenem or Elon Musk.

In what was a shocking confrontation by Adesanya may have placed a load of bad Karma on other Nigerian fighters. Adesanya's call out drew attention of UFC fans around the world. Basically, he lost the plot.

In his bravado he lost his fight to DePlease as well as a return match. Making it 2-0 for the white boys against the people of color. The Nigerian Mightmare squad needed some replenishment for them. Kamaru Usman's win was marred since it was over another black man so it doesn't count towards the racist issue. Usman, 41, entered the fight on a three fight losing streak. The problem is Adesany's 3 straight losses remains in tact. The moral is, beware of who you call a nigger.

MLB

Shohie Ohtani stared off the season slow. Recently he has come up to speed and is leading the NL in the home run category with 31. His stolen base totals are down from last season.

For certain on thing the Japanese sensation is that as any proud father knows, he had to adjust to the overnight crying from a newborn baby wanting to be fed.

The best news is Ohtani has been pitching for one inning then two to prepare for his return to the mound. His strategy is simple to see what strength or pain he has and slowly build the confidence in his recovery from Tommy Johns surgery that he had two years ago.

The experiment is working since he was wild at the beginning but his control has improved. In his most recent outing the struck out two batters and gave up no runs in two innings. His batting average is wavering around in the .290's.

NBA GAME CHANGE SUGGESTIONS:

Make a rule where a team can only take 30 three-point shots a game. This will create more strategy. A shot clock can be doubled in two sections where one side is about 3-point shots taken and the other being the 24 second clock.
