ROUSEY POUNDS 4 POUNDING

July is supposed to be the slowest month for sports news but this month is an exception. For beginners UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey called out Floyd "Money" Mayweather for hitting women as he did when he beat his wife and served jail time for his actions. Her challenge came about when she won an award for "Best Fighter of the Year" on Wednesday night at the ESPY Awards function in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For the past few years several fighters and officials have stated that Rousey would crush the boxer if they ever actually got into a fight.

At the awards Rousey stated, "I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once, I'd like to see you pretend to know who I am now."

Well the Money Man is too busy counting his dollars that he won in his recent victory over Manny Pacquiao. He also is focused on who he will fight next in his quest to surpass Rocky Marciano's undefeated boxing record of 49-0. He appears to be choosing his opponents carefully as it has been reported that he intends to fight a weak opponent to tie Marciano's 49-0 record.

To support our recent story in which we accused Mayweather of being a chicken shit champion his actions supports our position as it has been reported that he intends to fight a very beatable Andre Berto who is a two-time Welterweight champion and the current interim WBA welterweight champion.

In a strange twist to a Rousey verses Mayweather fight Berto's brother, James Edson Berto, is a professional mixed martial artist.

The 31-year-old Berto's 33-3 record is unimpressive given that he has lost three of his last six fights since 2011. Over his career he has fought few quality fighters resulting in very little attention from being booked to fight major venues in Las Vegas where he has fought only twice during his career. Madison Square Garden is his other major venue where he has fought which occurred early in his career in a win against Roberto Valenzuela which earned him a 14-0 record.

Basically Mayweather wants to fight a stiff and not fight a highly rated contender such as Amir Khan. Mr. Money Man is more focused on breaking a record of a true champion, Marciano who always came to fight. Marciano was not a runner as is Mayweather, and he didn't avoid anyone as he took on the best fighters of his time. He is worthy of his record and Mayweather is not. Should he break Marciano's record he will accomplish it in a disgraceful manner.

From the time Marciano fought for the heavyweight title in an elimination bout against Harry Matthews in 1952 at Yankee Stadium in New York he fought in huge stadium venues till the end of his career. He maintained that respect in fights held in stadiums against the then best Jersey Joe Walcott from whom he won the title, Ezzard Charles, Roland La Starza and Archie Moore. Marciano was a true champion.

Marciano's last title bout was against 38-year-old Archie Moore, on September 21, 1955. Marciano was knocked down for a four count in the second round, but recovered and retained his title with a knockout in round nine.

Marciano announced his retirement on April 27, 1956, aged 32. On August 31, 1969, on the eve of his 46th birthday Marciano died on a plane crash. He passed away with the respect of the boxing world and his many fans.

Apparently to gain respect the Money Man Mayweather wants to show the world that he is not greedy and will compete against Berto free of a pay per view pay out and make the fight available on regular TV. How big of him since all he is doing is taking a free pass to tie Marciano's record.

What he should do is take some of that money he cheated the public out in the Pacquiao fight and build some youth sports clubs in underprivileged neighborhoods in America rather than purchasing $4 million cars. Yea, yea, sure, sure he's entitled to spend his money any way he chooses but in doing so he shows his lack of character and self indulgence. He cares about nobody but himself.

Mayweather continues to behave like a chump and not a champ. Rousey was right in calling him out. If he thinks he's so great then he should fight Rousey which is a fight that would command a larger pay per view receipts than his bout with Pacquiao.

Here's the drill…. Since etiquette is ladies first, the first round ought to be mixed martial arts. Should the Money Man survive that then the 2nd round would be stand up but Rousey can use her feet. Mayweather is not much of a puncher but is a great dancer. Each round would be alternating between mixed martial arts and stand up. My money would be on Rousey. I don't think Mayweather would get past a 1st round Rousey armbar. Agree or not?

Floyd MAYWEATHER... BEST POUND 4 POUND?-
