Taylor Swift received more attention at the Super Bowl than the game itself. She did nothing wrong but attend to see her boyfriend Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce play.

The Kansas City Chiefs problem was where was Patrick Mahomes? That couldn't have been him on the playing field

The question is will the Hollyweird phony celebrity presence overwhelm Luka Doncic and chew him up and spit him out?

For those in the know the former LA/Minneapolis Lakers great Elgin Baylor is the best pound for pound NBA player ever.

GO FIGURE 2 B 4 REAL

Taylor Swift received more attention at the Super Bowl than the game itself. She did nothing wrong but attend to see her boyfriend Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce play.

Let's face it unless you're a Philadelphia Eagles fan, the game sucked. It was so bad that I forgot the Chief's quarterback's name. In NFL parlance… that's a sacrilege. But then it came to me it was Patrick Mahomes. The problem was where was Mahomes? That couldn't have been him on the playing field.

This guy that was running and fumbling all over the place must have been an impostor. I've never seen this guy before. It was true the player at the quarterback position for the Chiefs couldn't be Mahomes. Mahomes didn't show up until the second half.

The truth is credit goes to the Eagles defensive line that pestered Mahomes throughout the game. He didn't have that center lane he ran through in their previous Super Bowl match. This Eagles D-line was the star of the game. When Mahomes tried to scramble away from the Eagles D-line he ran into THE BIRDS NEST.

Hey… let's get down to it, why all of the negative attention towards booing Taylor Swift. She can't live her life in peace without some negative backlash. All she does is write and sing songs that have embraced her to millions of fans. So much so that the result is she has become a BILLIONAIRE from her talent.

So… as it seems it is now so fashionable to begin a sentence with the word so, what's up with this Kanye West type of treatment towards a lady that gives so many people so much joy around the world?

The good news is the attention Swift receives results In FREE PUBLICITY PERHAPS worth more than the cost of a Super Bowl ad. Place this in the GO FIGURE file.

After Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison traded Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers he was in the NO HAPPY LAND of Mavericks fans. They wanted his scalp.

This event brought about the most spirited response from Dallas since the CIA assassinated JFK. You can believe what you want but it seemed the world stood still when Doncic, who was believed to be sacred, was traded to the Lakers.

When the dust settled and one figured out what happened the Mavericks got a star veteran for the center/forward positions that will strengthen their team. The Lakers received a YOUNG 25-year-old superstar that they can build a franchise around when the 40-year-old BILLIONAIRE LeBron James moves on or decides to retire.

When common sense prevails the trade hurt neither team but is a plus factor for both.

NBA TRADES & THOUGHTS

The Detroit Pistons are on their way to respectability. With the preseason addition of head coach JB Bickerstaff, NBA veterans Tobias Harris and Tim Hardaway the Pistons have turned the corner to winning for their best record since a 42-42 result in 2019.

With 13 games over the half way mark the club is currently in the playoff race with a 29-26 record. This is their best record since and this season is only at the half way point. They are ranked 6th overall in the Eastern Conference standings a key playoff position. They are only one game behind Milwaukee in the Central Conference.

The Clippers trade that resulted in their getting Began Bogdanovic is massive. The 32 year-old has a 14.4 career average.

Jimmy Butler appears to be a good fit for the Warriors. Picks up the scoring slack when it appears that Step Curry is too pooped to pop.

The Mavericks Klay Thompson is more aggressive since the departure of Luka Doncic.

De'Aaron Fox averaged 25 ppg. in 45 games with the Sacramento Kings. The move to Spurs for the 27-year-old is a major change for the shape of the franchise and its future. Fox adds NBA maturity and scoring. He also enables Chris Paul to rest more since he can run the offense.

Ironically Markelle Fultz took his place with the Kings. Since being let go by the Orlando Magic Fultz was jobless and a free agent. Ironically Fultz was the overall number 1 pick in the 2017 NBA draft ahead of Lonzo Ball # 2, Jayson Tatum # 3 and De'Aaron Fox was # 5. Kyle Kuzma, Bam Adebayo and Donovon Mitchell were also in that draft.

GAME CHANGER SUGGESTIONS:

Make a rule where a team can only take 30 three-point shots a game. This will create more strategy. A shot clock can be doubled in two sections where one side is about 3-point shots taken and the other being the 24 second clock.

NEXT: THE NBA ALL STAR GAME ABORTION

Hornacek carried his hot shooting into the AT&T Shootout, and became the fourth player in the history of the event to repeat as champion, edging out Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki and Milwaukee’s Ray Allen in the final round with a score of 13. Vince Carter took center stage in the evening’s grand finale and turned in an Oscar-worthy performance, capturing the NBA.com Slam Dunk title. Carter registered three perfect scores of 50 points and distanced himself from a talented collection of high risers, including second-place finisher Steve Francis of Houston and Raptors teammate and cousin Tracy McGrady (third).
