UFC'S Julianna Pena Rocks The World

Juliann Pena wasn't given a chance in the world to defeat Amanda Nunes and take her UFC Bantamweight title but on December 11, 2021 she did just that. In what was billed as a walk in the park for then champion Amanda Nunes who hadn't lost a fight in seven years since 2014 and who was compared of having a punch as dangerous as Mike Tyson's the result was astounding in the world of sports. GOING INTO THE FIGHT Pena was only ranked 4th in the Bantamweight Division.

Pena's rise was after she won the Ultimate Fighter Championship in 2013 as a member of team Rousey her path to glory was somewhat gory. During that competition Pena seemed somewhat apprehensive. Her confidence had o be reassured but she fought through it. Apparently she won as her UFC career record was 5-2 prior to defeating Nunes who had a 12-0 fight winning streak. Pena also had a series of injuries that reesulted in her having to pull out of fights.

On the personal side she seems o have struggled. She once had a relationship that has produced a daughter. The daughter appears to have given her strength and maturity while the relationship hasn't been discussed. She retired from the spot to give birth and moved from California to train.

Her daughter and change of scenery has paid off. Her mindset changed and she now seems more focused and eliminated her uncertainty regarding her skills. Prior to the Nunes bout she communicated with her daughter to have her recognized as a fighter. When she got into the ring with Nunes she had a serious look and stated that she wasn't afraid on the UFC'S Mike Tyson aka Amanda Nunes.

Throughout the two rounds Nunes peppered Pena's face with sharp shots. Pena withstood the blows as her face indicated but she fired back with pounded jabs to Nunes' face as the champion appeared surprised as Pena's persistence and determination.

It all ended at 3:29 of the 2nd round as an extremely tired looking Nunes dropped to the canvas and tapped out. The entire arena was stunned as was fight's telecasters. Joe Rogan was seen holding his head in shocking disbelief. It was clear that Pena came a long way to become the UFC Bantamweight Champion while shocking the sporting world.

EMMA RADUCANU STUNS the TENNIS WORLD

When a 17 year-old girl made it to the Wimbledon finals it was a surprise Emma Raducanu's win was one of the most shocking stories in the history of Women's tennis. That set the scene for more interesting sidebars.

Another surprise was she was facing an 18-year-old girl that then recently had a birthday. Both competitors were people of color. During the tournament Raducanu's ranking rose in the world of tennis. Her career-high WTA singles ranking was No. 338, achieved on 28 June 2021 to # 22 following the tournament.

Her skill level matched her exuberant smile. She has a strong family and she credits her fathers discipline as being a key ingredient in her success. The teenager was quick to point out that her father was hard to please and strict. Finishing school was the priority over participating in tennis tournaments. He also was particular by who and how she was being taught the game.

His preference was for a different coach to stress a different shot in her game. Raducanu was born in Toronto to a Chinese mother and Romanian father; the family moved to England when Emma was 2. She represents Great Britain in tournaments but also represents people of color. She speaks fluent Chinese and visits her mother's country often.

In the dreary world of COVID Randucanu's achievement was pleasant relief to have a beautiful young lady succeed during a time of selfishness and greed in professional athletes.

SHOHEI OHTANI MLB's BEST

At the beginning of this Major League Baseball (MLB) season we celebrated the talent of the Los Angeles Angels Japanese import Shohei Ohtani. Our praise was rewarded as the 27-year-old two-way player had a tremendous season and won the American Leagues Most Valuable Player Award.

Ohtani was a unamous choice receiving all 30 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers' Association of America and became the fifth unanimous MVP since 2000.

Ohtani, smashed 46 home runs and had a 9-2 pitching record. He is the most successful two way player since Babe Ruth who accomplished his records a CENTURY ago during the 2nd and 3rd decades of the 20th century.

Ohtani embellished his talent by recording a .965 OPS (second highest in the AL), and hittiing eight triples (tied for the major league lead) and stole 26 bases (a mark topped by only seven players). He became the sixth player in history with at least 45 homers and at least 25 stolen bases in the same season. His 156 strikeouts in 130 1/3 innings ranked him within the top 14% in strikeout percentage.

Early in his MLB career Ohtani suffered a severe injury and underwent a Tommy John surgery. Following the procedure he had to spend most of the next 15 months rehabbing his right elbow. His dedication to recover was rewarded with his incredible MVP season.

Ohtani is the true example of a champion and is one of the top sports stories of 2021

TOM BRADY is THE GODFATHER of the SUPERBOWL

Hey… wait up… what is TOM BRADY EATING AND DRINKING? The Brady Bunch man is defying gravity and aging. He is accomplishing what no man has ever done. NO he's not a bird, a plane or Superman he's Tom Brady which who commands his own definition. It appears Brady took on the world when he chose to leave the New England Patriots where he spent 20 seasons during his entire NFL career while winning six Super Bowl titles.

It seemed to be a strange decision from a 43-yer-old man who is supposed to be at the end of his stellar career. His choice was to join a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that hadn't had much success. The franchise reached the Super Bowl only once during their history.

The consensus was why would Brady leave behind such a successful relationship with a tem and their coach? There was a mystery of their coach player relationship that intoned there was a secretive problem that has never been discussed and remained under the rug. The nearest thing to an explanation for the split was it was believed Brady sought more decision control of the squad.

Following a no so successful 2020 season start Brady's say so in the direction of the offense started to take hold a third of the way through the season. In a remarkable result Brady messages where being received by the coaches and players. His winning ways and leadership took hold and the result was a winning season and a trip to another Super Bowl for Brady's Bunch.

In a 31-9 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs Brady threw for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. He led his team to his 7th Super Bowl win and was awarded his 5th Super Bowl MVP Award. Brady had defied gravity, aging and criticism.

He could be referred to a being older than dirt but the reality is he IS THE ROCK of a franchise. THE NFL's ALL TIME BEST QB is TOM BRADY
