CNN = DEFLECTIONS & OPINIONS but ABSENT THE NEWS

CNN's arrogance is overwhelming when repeatedly they disseminate misinformation to the public. It is obvious by their biased reports that their agenda is to promote the US government's illegal invasions of other nations. Basically they are pimps for the practice. The other side is CNN could be considered wimps given that they are unwilling to report the truth.

This week a brazen CNN host Bill Weir was interviewing a frequent CNN guest James A. "Spider" Marks. Weir, who comes off as being too cool to be in school, repeatedly referred to Marks as being a US General which is not the truth as Marks concluded his career as the Commander, United States Army Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca in 2004. He serves as a Member of Board of Advisors of HALO Maritime Defense Systems Inc. Marks was a military and intelligence analyst for CNN from 2004 to 2007.

During the interview Marks shared his opinion of the Russian, Ukraine situation with his take that Russia is wrong and the US is right in interfering in the affairs of Russia. The question in this case is why can't CNN tell the truth rather than painting a very slanted picture of what reality is?

CNN has a history of distorting the truth. There is a video clip on the RT News channel where US president Barack Obama states that he watches CNN, Fox News and CNBC.... noting that he admired their commitment to cover all sides of the story... just in case... one of them gets it right.

Obama was, for the most part, spot on with that statement as the American and main stream Western media have their agendas of promoting Western interests and not reporting the news. CNN programs are cluttered with opinions and short on facts as well as promoting only one side (US Gov) of the news.

Former CNN investigative journalist Amber Lyon is known for her work reporting human rights abuses against pro-democracy protesters in Bahrain, and police brutality against protesters in the United States.

On September 5, 2012 with the help of journalist Glenn Greenwald, Lyon exposed that CNN International never aired her documentary, iRevolution, on the Bahrain uprising. In an article by Greenwald in The Guardian newspaper, Lyon accuses the network of censoring the documentary because the Bahrain regime is a paying customer at the network. The article also exposes that the government of Bahrain, as well as other governments throughout the world, are paying CNN for special content casting their countries in a positive light.

On September 29, 2012, Lyon appeared on the Infowars program. She described her investigation of how the US ally Bahrain was committing human rights abuses, but said that CNN and the US government pressured her to suppress the news. She said that Bahrain paid CNN for positive news coverage. Lyon said that Kazakhstan and Georgia also paid for positive coverage by CNN.

In March 2013, a report from the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency said the "Slovak main news website" reported Lyon claiming to have received orders from CNN to report selectively and falsely in order to sway public opinion in favor of direct American aggression against Iran and Syria, and that this was common practice at CNN.

The question is did your mother raise a fool? Can you believe a network that reports ad shows photos and videos that they obtain on You Tube or social network web sites and ADMIT THAT THEY CAN'T VERIFY THE SOURCE? IS THAT RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM? What happened to fact checking? As they say garbage in, garbage out.

LARRY KING ON RT

The strange twist to the CNN saga is how they dispensed with one on their best journalists Larry King is now televising his show on the RT News channel. The program is televised at various times around the world providing one can access the channel, if not go to their web site rt.com. In the Southeast Asian region King's show PoloticKING airs on Friday's several times throughout the day. Check your listing for the time in you area.

THE VOICE'S BLAKE SHELTON IS COUNTRY ALL THE WAY

We question if a non country singing contestant would choose Blake Shelton as their coach if they had a choice. Shelton is country all the way and proved that in the playoff stage when he trimmed his then five person team to three to enter the final live performance stage of the competition when the public's vote takes over. At that time he eliminated two of our favorites 16-year-old sensation Madilyn Paige and Ryan Whyte Maloney opting to keep his dominate country singers Audra McLaughlin and Jake Worthington.

Shelton retains our TOP CHOICE former Celine Dione back-up singer Sisaundra Lewis who we feel has the talent to win it all. Out other top choices Christina Grimmie, Bria Kelly and Josh Kaufman have made it to the final 12 now 10 live performers in the quest to win this season The Voice title. The Voice is televised on a 5-6 day delay basis of the American telecast in the Southeast Asian region on Sunday evenings on the AXN channel with numerous repeats throughout the week.

CHANNEL NEWS ASIA REVEALS CAMBODIAN HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES

An interesting feature UNDERCOVER ASIA was televised on Channel News Asia this week regarding the random arrest of Cambodians citizens that are SUSPECTED of being drug users but in reality many of them are homeless. When released the unpaid prisoners are dropped off outside of where they were picked up. Many of the arrests take place prior to an ASEAN meeting or other political meetings with the rationale of those involved in the practice wanting to keep the city clean with the undesirables out of sight of visiting dignitaries.

Those arrested are placed in rehabilitation camps for an undetermined period of time. The program noted that the detainees were used as slave labor and the pretty females are raped by the military or police staff. One female prisoner cut her throat with the top of a tin can hoping that would be an excuse for her to be released but she was denied.

One of the male detainees used as an unpaid laborer for the construction of a hotel in Battambang found that it was owned by a high ranking military officer. The detainee begged the officer to be released claming that he had done nothing wrong. That hotel is now charging $50 to $750 per night.

It raises questions of what is the salary of a high ranking Cambodian military or police officers and where did money come from to build (by Cambodian standards) an expensive hotel? Those questions were never perused in the undercover report. The focus of the piece was from the perspective of the NGO Human Rights Watch. The bottom line is this is another case of an exploitation project resulting in nothing being done about the problem. The show which emanates from Singapore remains a must watch should there be a repeat telecast.
