IT'S WINNING TIME

If it's finals you're looking for the AXN Network has it this week with the final of the Amazing Race Asia and the semifinal of the USA version. The USA version airs tomorrow Monday December 6th in the Southeast Asian region and the finals of the Asian version airs Thursday December 9.

In the USA race one team has an Asian contestant Kat Chang 35 who is a doctor as is her teammate Nat Strand 31. Chang is athletic as she competes in the New York Marathon.

Her heart is in the right place as she explained what she would do if she won the race and a million dollars. "Donate to charity, pay off part of my medical school loans and bring some loved ones on a sweet vacation," said the Santa Monica, California resident.

Through 10 legs the doctors have finished first four times, second once and third once.

The Asian version's final three teams are the father and daughter team from Indonesia Hussein & Natasha, the Philippine bad dude team who are transplants from the USA Richard and Richard and the Singapore rebel pal team of Claire Goh, and Michelle S. Ng.

The bad dude double Richard team has the best record of the finalists in the race. They have finished first twice and second six times including one continuation leg sandwiched in the now compacted nine legs of the race. Their only finishes out of the top two was sixth in the third leg and fourth in the eighth and most recent leg.

The last leg was won by Hussein and Natasha which was their only first place finish in the race. They have had three second place finishes. Claire and Michelle have never finished first and their best is six third place finishes including one in the continuation leg.

There was some behind the scenes drama throughout the race that was revealed in this past week's program of scenes that previously didn't air during the series.

The Philippine team of Tattooist Jacinta James (Jess), 27, and model Lani Pillinger 27 were classless throughout the competition by begging for money from strangers in the countries they visited telling them that they were broke. They took the cash and went shopping and had the nerve to brag about their deceiving ways.

Their bad karma came back to haunt them as they were eliminated the previous episode, the semifinal battle of the final four. The party girls were strong competitors with three straight first place finishes that preceded their semifinal elimination. The tawdry girls continually flaunted their sexuality to con the money out of strangers but in the end their lack of integrity cost them a chance to win the $100,000 first prize. James' background includes having been a strip club manager. Ahhh.... should we say more?

An amusing scene in the final four leg is they couldn't figure out why the other teams didn't like them as their pictures were on an archery target in a task to shoot at as well as a second task being selected by some of the other teams as the least deserving to win the race.

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL WINNER IS...

If you're wasting your time watching the latest edition of America's Next Top Model Cycle 15 then here's the answer to who won. The program was completed in the USA just as it began this past week on the Star World Network. It is delayed being telecast in the Asian region.

The winner is Ann Ward, a 6-foot-2 teen from Dallas, Texas. When she was growing up the now 19-year-old Ward was subject to being teased about her height as well as being thin resulting in her developing self-confidence problems. She was rejected by modeling agencies and told that she was too tall and told her their limit was 6'.

Ward now can say... how do you like me now as she is the America's Next Top Model winner. She received a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics, a contract with IMG Models, the cover of Beauty In Vogue, fashion spreads in Vogue Italia and Beauty In Vogue, as well as a prominent feature on the Vogue Italia website, Vogue.it.

THE JEWS DID IT - ON FUTURE EXPRESS

One of the most interesting telecasts is Future Express on the Australia Network Tuesday nights and repeats Wednesday at mid day or noon in Cambodia and Thailand.

Producer Rob Hof travels through a country by train and interviews passengers on the train who express their personal lives and thoughts about their culture, religion and world matters. It is the perfect example of what filmmaker Oliver Stone recommended to Cambodian students earlier this year to travel and see the world and learn.

Hof usually gets off the train several times during an episode to visit a passenger's home thus getting a more in depth insight of how people live and think in the country he visits. This past week he was in Algeria which was a strange episode as he didn't get off the train.

The passengers had mixed emotions about their countries past and problems with terrorists. One man claimed that the terrorists who killed Algerian people were not from Algeria. They had sophisticated weapons Algerians don't have access to.

Another man went into a rant about the Jews saying, "The Jews are the virus of the world. They killed the Crown Prince Austria, they start all of the wars," he said vehemently. He added, "They are barbarians. They started the First World War. They are rich and we are poor."

Agree or not is not the point. The point being is this program is a fountain of knowledge through hearing other points of view.

Tuesday the program travels through Egypt with the topic being Love and Sneaky Sex. As expressed in their press release on the Australia Network website:

In the Islamic world Morocco is considered to be a liberal country. The traditional relations between men and women, where men used to be dominant, have changed. Now, the older generations are becoming worried about the lack of discipline amongst young people. According to them, the youth in Morocco do just do as they please, like having sex before marriage. The Future Express travels through the evolving country, from Marrakech via Casablanca and Rabat to Tangiers to hear how young people are balancing pressure from their elders with the temptations of a modernizing world filled with sexual energy.
