THE LOVE of WAR

With former US Vice President Dick Cheney and journalist Julian Assange being in the news the same week is the only similarity of two people with opposite causes one is for war the other peace. Who represents which is up to you.

One individuals story has been swept under the rug and hushed up by the media the other is being crucified by those same hush puppies.

Cheney was in the news for paying a $250 million fine in a plea action for bribery charges against him in the Nigerian courts thus saved himself from a lengthy jail term.

Assange was in jail for bringing the truth to the attention of the people via his Wiki-Leaks web site and distribution system. What Assange did is being considered a crime by the governments he exposed. Cheney's crime is now being swept under the rug and he goes free to hang out with the government buddies and business associates.

After making bail Assange was moved from what could be described as from the outhouse to the penthouse but in reality from the jailhouse to a house arrest in a mansion where he could use his computer and with his Wiki-Leaks could continue to inform the public of the devious ways governments and its leaders function in illegal practices.

The USA wants to arrest and try Assange in US courts for revealing their dirty laundry in what was supposed to be classified secrets. Cheney committed a crime, Assange is revealing government crimes. Cheney's avoid jail card was with the help of former US President George H Bush and James Baker while Assange remains under the microscope with threats from America.

If your question is who is behind protecting Cheney here are the answers.

In 1976 then US president Gerald Ford brought George H Bush to Washington to become Director of Central Intelligence. He served in this role for 357 days, from January 30, 1976 to January 20, 1977. The CIA had been rocked by a series of revelations; including those based on investigations by the Church Committee regarding illegal and unauthorized activities by the CIA, and Bush was credited with helping to restore the agency's morale. In his capacity as DCI, Bush gave national security briefings to Jimmy Carter both as a Presidential candidate and as President-elect, and discussed the possibility of remaining in that position in a Carter administration but it was not to be. Bush went on to become president but in retirement he's at it again doing damage control for a former US Vice President in Dick Cheney.

Baker served as the Chief of Staff in President Ronald Reagan's first administration and in the final year of the administration of President George H. W. Bush. Baker also served as Secretary of the Treasury from 1985-1988 in the second Reagan administration, and Secretary of State in the George H. W. Bush administration.

Up until his arrest Assange was continually on the move trying to avoid those that wanted to shut him down and up. He's not on the side of those guilty of crimes he's exposing but he's being depicted as an individual who is trying to destroy nations who are guilty of wrong doings. His ally's are the people who seek truth, peace and justice.

Of these two individuals one benefits financially from war the other only benefits from trying to enlighten interested parties that prefer to seek peace. If you were to place a caption under their photos one would deserve WAR the other PEACE. You decide who should receive which caption.

Following 9/11, Cheney was instrumental in providing a primary justification for entering into a war with Iraq. Cheney helped shape Bush's approach to the "War on Terrorism", making numerous public statements alleging Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, and made repeated personal visits to CIA headquarters, where he questioned mid-level agency analysts on their conclusions. Cheney continued to allege links between Saddam Hussein and al-Queda, even though President Bush received a classified President's Daily Brief on September 21, 2001 indicating the U.S. intelligence community had no evidence linking Saddam Hussein to the September 11th attacks and that "there was scant credible evidence that Iraq had any significant collaborative ties with Al Qaeda."

Furthermore, in 2004, the 9/11 Commission concluded that there was no "collaborative relationship" between Iraq and al Qaeda. Following the US invasion of Iraq, Cheney remained steadfast in his support of the war, stating that it would be an "enormous success story", and made many visits to the country. He often criticized war critics, calling them "opportunists" who were peddling "cynical and pernicious falsehoods" to gain political advantage while US soldiers died in Iraq. In response, Senator John Kerry asserted, "It is hard to name a government official with less credibility on Iraq [than Cheney].

Cheney's point about soldiers died in Iraq brings up and interesting question.... that is who is responsible for sending those troops there? But there's more to the tough guy politician/BUSINESSMAN.

Cheney was indicted by a Texas grand jury for conflict of interest in his role as Vice President via his investments in a private company that runs detention centers in Texas. The indictments were dismissed by the judge as invalid on December 1, 2008.
