YOUTH WINS TITLE

If searching the Internet for the AXN and Star World TV schedules were transposed to sailing the seas one would get sea sick. Both are notorious in changing and switching their schedules on short notice thus the schedule for The Voice finale has been changed.

In the Thailand and Cambodia time zones the proposed schedule is now tonight Wednesday, 19 at 8:05 PM. The remainder of the schedule varies according to the area you live in throughout the East Asian region.

Cassadee Pope was the winner in the finale televised in America last night Tuesday December 18th. The 23-year-old from West Palm Beach, Florida gained confidence and strengthened in every episode. Now that the cat is out of the bag the value of this revelation is to tune in to AXN and find out why she was voted by the American viewing public as being the best of the Top 3 finalists as well as being the first female to win The Voice title.

Pope has extensive experience touring with bands and that helped her in the competition as her poise and flexibility in adhering to coach Blake Shelton's advice to sing some country songs. It was the country songs that put her over the top as one week her song went to # 1 on the I-tunes charts. Pope performed a heartfelt song, "Over You", co-written by Blake Shelton. The song reached number one on the iTunes chart, knocking PSY's "Gangnam Style" down to number two.

From that point on she was destined to win the title. She was the only female contestant to advance to the Top 4 round. In the Top 4 round she performed "Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban, which also reached number one on iTunes.

Her age is an advantage given that those that use social media and take the time to vote are her age range. Her other advantage is in singing country she covers two markets. Her love is to be a rock singer but her talent is best suited to country. The fact that she can do both styles well makes her very marketable. Pope is currently signed to Universal Music Group and will release her upcoming album in the first quarter of 2013.

Her win gives Blake Shelton his 2nd title as a coach. Adam Levine is the only other coach to win. Shelton also coached rock singer Terry McDermott who finished 2nd. Cee Lo Green's Nicholas David finished 3rd.

The voting was spot on as The Voice's viewing public can't be criticized for the choices they made. That can't be said of American which over the years their voting results has been questionable and raises red flags about being fixed. Last season American idol was a nightmare and their declining TV ratings is proof of that pudding. This season The Voice raised its game in talent selection and stage production. The coaches were great in the way they chose to critique without being overbearing in beating someone mentally down while building lesser talents up as did American Idol last season.

As Will I Am who was a former mentor on American Idol said The Voice is the choice. Reruns of the finals are scheduled through Friday. Given the unbelievable practice of AXN's unstable schedule it's best to check their web site for the time in your area.
