With the numerous changes on The Voice this season their Wild Card show was novel and genius. As we predicted Damien would be voted out but his Wild Card performance turned on the voters and he was selected from the nine (9) Wild Card contestants performances to be included in the final four contestants to compete for the Season 7 The Voice title - Recommended TV Listings

ADAM LEVINE HAS A 75% CHANCE TO WIN his 3rd COACHING TITLE

The Voice has made numerous changes this season many of which we questioned. This past week the program introduced a Wild Card show. Contestants who were previously eliminated had a chance to qualify for the final four championship show if they received the most votes from the viewing public. Each eliminated contestant performed one song on the final three elimination show and the public had a six hour window in which to vote. The result this was a NOVEL and GENIUS MOVE and decision.

As we predicted the only minority contestant, Damien was eliminated on the final three show. What was surprising was he received the most votes from the Wild Card performances and will be in the final four. This is a good sign that the voting public is more mature in making decisions and not impulse voters that choose the best looking or trendy contestant.

Damien's voice is deserving of being in the final four. His liabilities are being black, being the oldest at 35 years of age along with Craig Wayne Boyd also 35 and being on a show that has made some questionable decisions since it became involved with the mysterious Telescope company which is also involved with American Idol and their questionable voting results.

The strength of Damien's talent relates to him being a four chair turnaround during the blind auditions. The Monroe, Louisiana native chose Adam Levine as his coach. The most interesting development in the association is that ALL THREE of Levine's contestants from the top 12 show are in the final four. This gives Levine a 75% chance of winning his 3rd title as a coach thus tying him with Blake Shelton's THREE titles.

The two barb each other on the show with Levine poking fun at Shelton's drinking habits and Shelton pokes fun at the effeminate side of Levine. Before you lose the plot on this point it is well known that every male person has an effeminate side.

Boyd is the most experienced of the final four and has an outstanding voice and stage presence. He has been performing professionally and making a living at it for years. No other contestant has that professional experience. He gives Shelton's last hope of being a four time winning coach a slim 25% chance. If the public votes for overall talent and experience he is the best choice.

The remaining two voice finalists are Chris Jamison 20 and Matt McAndrew 23. From the start Jamison has proved to be an interesting and talented singer. His voice is strong and contemporary. He embellishes his vocal sound with a strong falsetto and can vary from rock to soul. Throughout the season he has gained our interest as being the most interesting voice and strong enough to win the title. He has earned his spot as he had to survive being in the BOTTOM THREE.

Throughout the season McAndrew has been the most puzzling as we can't understand why he has been given so much support from the voters. He has never been in the bottom three or two. He has never made a memorable performance for our tastes. That is the point, that it's a matter of taste that persuades the voters.

Our favorite voices, which do not reflect who we think will win, from the final four are:

1. Chris Jamison

2. Damien

3. Craig Wayne Boyd

4. Matt McAndrew

This is a guilty with an explanation choice. Due to the uniqueness of Jamison's voice we want to hear more and see what Levine can do with his talent. Boyd is our favorite singer but there are many singers equally as talented and in the same vocal lane as he. His voice is not as unique as Jamison's.

Damien's voice is always enjoyable to listen to but we question what opportunities are available for a 35 year-old singer who has no professional experience. Should he win it will be interesting to see how his career can be developed and if Levine will be involved.

Damien has the most interesting rags to riches story. When the final five contestants returned to their home towns he was the only contestant that was not interviewed by a TV or radio station in his home town. Basically he was the only contestant to be shunned by his home town media.

Should McAndrew win it will also be interesting to see how he can develop as a professional and undergo an extensive professional makeover to strengthen his image.

It comes down to The Voice FINALS…TUNE IN or MISS OUT.
