Songwriter Kara DioGuardi joins the crew of Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon 'The Merciless' Cowell. Kara displayed her catty side as she went head to head with a contestant who auditioned in a bikini bathing suite... it was almost GET IT ON TIME. Cowell is the main man in this group. Since there are four judges he is the breaking decision maker in the event of a 2-2 tie of opinion.

AMERICAN IDOL... LETS GET IT ON!!!

There's a new face among the American Idol judges making it four judges that the contestants have to please. Songwriter Kara DioGuardi joins the crew of Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon 'The Merciless' Cowell.

After the show opened this past week in Phoenix the home of 2007 winner Jordin Sharpe and Kansas City the home of last season's winner David Cook Kara held her own in the battle of minds and egos with the merciless one. She also brings some comfort to Abdul who now has a female buddy to protect her or a shoulder to cry on when Cowell goes on the attack. Strange enough Cowell seems to be toned down a bit this season.

Is this a kinder gentler Cowell? We'll see. We fell into that trap last season when he started off nice and sweet and as the season went along his fangs came out and he became his old tormenting self. Cowell is the main man in this group. Since there are four judges he is the decision breaking maker in the event of a 2-2 tie of opinion.

Kara is 38-years-old. As a songwriter she has worked with Celine Dion, Hilary Duff, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera, and our girl Paula Abdul. She has had over 39 albums in the Top 10 on Billboard's 200 album chart. Her songs are on over 100 million records sold.

DioGuardi has some brains as she attended the prestigious Duke University and received a political science degree. She also worked at Billboard Magazine which is a music industry trade publication with positions in the publishing and marketing departments.

Kara displayed her catty side as she went head to head with a contestant who auditioned in a bikini bathing suite� it was almost GET IT ON TIME. The contestant Katrina Darrell from Chino Hills, California sang OK and was approved by Randy and Simon. Paula and Kara took exception to the contestants look and presentation. Kara adamantly said Darrell didn't have the voice to carry the song she sang. Kara then demonstrated how she thought the song should be sung and Darrell wasn't impressed and voiced her opinion to Kara of her version.

The feathers flew but as we mentioned Simon holds the tie breaking vote and the bikini girl received a GOLD ticket to Hollywood. In the mean time Kara is breathing fire. With Kara this could be the most interesting season of American idol yet and most importantly Paula has a female buddy on the show.

The Beatles Live at Shea Stadium is a video worth having in your DVD collection more so because of the history it represents. The Beatles and their music made the biggest impact on the music industry than any other musical talent. Not only for their innovative look with their long hair style with bangs but for their songwriting skills of which their catalog contains songs that will remain recognized as evergreens forever.

The Shea Stadium Concert video is not of high video quality but is representative of the technical limitations of that time when the concert was filmed on August 15, 1965. The Beatles performed the first stadium concert in the history of rock, playing at Shea Stadium in New York City, NY USA to a crowd of 55,600.

The Beatles led the mid-1960s musical "British Invasion" into the United States. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and homegrown skiffle, the group explored genres ranging from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. On the DVD when asked about the type of music they play their response is its just music. They claim they just play and what come out comes out. The reality is that their music was heavily influenced by the music of Chuck Berry, Little Richard Fats Domino and BB King among other talented black recording artists of the 50's.

Their clothes, styles, and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s. Though the production is choppy it captures the hysteria the group created with their music. They were the first in the entertainment industry to create excitement and audience reaction surpassing the sensations created by earlier music stars Frank Sinatra with his bobby sox craze and Elvis Presley with his high hair sexy and sexy gyrations.
