Our question is why is Philippine singing sensation Charice not a regular on the singing shoe Glee. Is this about racism or jealousy? GLEE HAS WARTS

Well as they say what goes around comes around and Glee is coming around to return for season 3 in East Asia. The first half of season of season 3 premiered September 20th 2011 in the USA so as usual this region receives the leftovers.

The big news is that first contestant from the Glee Project to receive the benefit of creator Ryan Murphy writing a script for him is Irishman Damian McGinty who from being a co-winner in the Glee Project show was to appear in seven episodes of season 3. The strange thing is McGinty was almost eliminated in the firs two episodes of the Glee Project. At present he is receiving the on air promotion time on the show being represented as an exchange student. He makes his first appearance in the 4th episode.

That brings to mind why Philippine singing sensation Charice was so short changed in season 2 having appeared in only three episodes and is not returning as a main character. During the Glee Project Murphy made decisions based upon his ability to write a script for a contestant claiming that he couldn't see the character of the contestant to fit into the framework of the show.

What jumps out about Glee is their strong focus on the underdog and abused in defending gay rights and those who are bullied in school for being overweight, disabled or not so attractive. Apparently Murphy has a problem understanding one of the most disadvantaged are those that suffer racial discrimination. From what little is said about her being omitted from the cast it appears on the surface that she is suffering from just that. She is by far the best singer on the show and as Murphy has stated, "When that girl opens her mouth, angels fly out."

It has been rumored that there was some friction from the shows main voice and star Lea Michele towards Charice. The reason being is that she is jealous of her Charice's spectacular voice. Michele is scheduled to graduate this season but may return after graduation as a reappearing character.

There are two points to be addressed in this situation Charice is worthy of being a regular on the show and should be written in as such. She's a natural and though she is now 19 she will look young for the rest of her life. Some of the actors are 30 years old.

If Murphy can't think of who to write for her character perhaps he should GET REAL and think about hiring a MINORITY writer to get the gist of what a minority experiences in a racist world.

Glee season 3 airs tonight on the Star World Network. Check your local listing for the time in your area.

CAN AMERICAN IDOLS PLAY (Instruments)?

This season will be the true test of the judges to see if last season was a fluke in their selecting such a strong group of talent. Can they do it again? Will they focus on the original American Idol concept of finding best voice or will they lean towards the most talented which includes those tat can sing and play an instrument as was the case in Casey Abrams success last season? What has been released is that the show's format will remain the same as last season. What does that mean since there was a stir about contestants getting through by playing instruments to assist their voice?

In the past playing instruments was forbidden. A few seasons ago they let them do it as many of those chosen in the initial audition stages to go through to Hollywood didn't play instruments. They were found to be skilled musicians that could sing and had stage presence and experience from playing with bands. Some repeatedly complained that they were at a disadvantage not being able to play their instruments in their American Idol performance. Later show relented and permitted contestants to do so.

In 2008 David Cook was the first musician/singer to win the Idol title that was permitted to play an instrument. That proved to be his strength in his close win over pure singer David Archuleta.

The plan for this season is mixed as information as to weather the contestants will be allowed to play instruments or not remains cloudy. The available information is that the format will remain the same as last season but during this season auditions in San Diego one contestant sang but not so well. He requested to play his guitar and Jennifer Lopez said it was OK and that they would IGNORE THE RULE. The shows stance on this is as CLEAR AS MUD.

The talent did better playing his guitar that his deceased father made for him. The judges gave their approval and he received the yellow card and ticket to compete in the Hollyweird auditions.

Another San Diego try-out surprise was Jane Carrey the daughter of comedian actor Jim Carrey auditioned. When she revealed who she was Lopez said that she knew her and did she remember her when she was a Fly girl dancer on the Living Color TV show with her father. Carrey replied that at that time she was only two years old and didn't recall the experience.

For those that can't relate to Carrey's name several of his films as the character Ace Ventura and The Cable Guy have been televised often in the region.

Another mystery is will in house mentor Jimmy Iovine the president of Interscope Records return to the show in the same role? Nothing has been released to our knowledge as concrete information that he will.

The bottom line is… AMERICAN IDOL's city audition episodes are currently being televised in East Asia on the Star World network. Stay tuned for the regular season when the answer to our question will contestants be permitted to play instruments is answered.
