THE APPRENTICE HAVE & HAVE NOTS

A new twist came about on Donald Trumps sixth edition of The Apprentice. He departed his usual New York City environment and took a mansion in Beverly Hills, California. He also initiated a new policy whereas when the two teams Kinetic and Arrow with nine Apprentice candidates each have a task the losing team must camp outside on the mansion grounds in tents while the winners take up residence in the mansion with a pool to wine, dine and revel.

During the first two weeks of the show it took its toll as the lack of facilities created some tension resulting in an unfavorable performance by Arrow the have not team. The candidates live next door to Trump's Los Angeles office mansion the scenery and the elevation allows Trump to watch the teams from the top floor of his office mansion (both Tent City and the pool area) and observe the them.

This season Trumps daughter Ivanka is a permanent member of his board room which grills three of the losing team members to determine who will be fired. His son Bill Jr. is also on the show as board room member but didn't appear in the first two episodes. Angela Ruggiero 26, a US Olympic Athlete is one of the candidates.

DREAM ACADEMY CONTESTANT LAARNI BREAKS DOWN AFTER CONSTANT HARASSMENT & RECEIVING NO RESPECT

You can read into things any way you want. For some the glass is always half empty for others half full. In some cases there are people who always see the glass empty. The point being do people look at things in an optimistic or pessimistic way? For the Pinoy Dream (Nightmare) Academy the glass seems to be always empty to half empty.

For student Laarni she has been through hell from the start when she wasn't picked for two teams formed within the competition. She was left over and the team with the last choice had to take her. That was our first insight to the contestant's behavior on this disaster of a TV show.

As the reality series unraveled repeated backstabbing and talking behind the backs of others occurred which primarily emanated from a group of six 18-year-olds with the most vocal being Inaki and Bea. In the first three weeks of the show stress took a toll on three of the older students who departed the program. Two quit another was hospitalized and then expelled. The reason given for the expulsion was for the sake of his health.

From our observation favoritism surfaced as the key trouble maker Inaki was always given favorable reviews from the judges and mentor/teachers although he has a terrible voice and can't sing. He's always credited for his performance skills which translates that he moves around on stage and projects to the crowd with and egotistical glare and sly grin and a repugnant attitude. He has for more confidence than talent.

When Laarni sang she was in our opinion always one of the Top 3 yet she made the level only twice during a four week period. She was unmercifully criticized and talked down to and embarrassed which resulted in taking its toll as she angrily lashed out at her tormentors. In doing so they compounded the problem by bas talking her behind her back which she was fully aware of. She was made to feel unwanted and she became withdrawn.

When she was appointed as the director of her team in producing a MTV type music video she was constantly butting heads with her group as they rejected her direction. It brought her to tears but she toughed it out to completion. When it was revealed that the viewing public voted overwhelmingly by a margin in excess of 70% that her teams video was the best the group jumped up and hugged each other with glee while they ignored their director Laarni who was in the background and looked down to the ground with sadness in her eyes.

Since her team won the music video making competition they received an additional 0.5 to their team's overall performance GPA. That gave them a passing score of 7.82 (7.5 required) which enabled them to have extra money for their weekly food budget. Did they give her credit or appreciate her efforts? The answer is NO.

On her 23rd birthday Laarni made the group some jam that Bea taught her how to make. She added some oregano leaves and salt in the concoction. The wickedness of Bea and Iñaki came to surface when they then poked fun at Laarni's jam.

Then the most shocking event of the series occurred when Laarni and Inaki were teamed to sing a duet. They looked good on stage together and projected well. She started out a bit weak (but in tune) singing with her strong voice but as they the song went on they got a feel for each other midway through she started to feel comfortable and started belting her strong voice and carried the song. They finished in the Top 3 but the mentors and judges ignored her effort and praised Inaki's performing skills. They never once pointed out that his voice is horrible and he can't carry a tune. They never once credited her with singing well.

As a result of her being largely being disrespected and her superior vocal talent ignored she finally broke down and refused to attend a 9 AM class, the DA web site depicted her as sulking. Apple 18, a Laarni detractor told mentor Monet that Laarni 23, cried throughout the night and was hysterical. It was a reaction from the previous day when she was criticized by her diction mentor and sensual dance mentor that she was not following and taking their instructions seriously.

Monet, the house mentor who is always present went to her bedroom and begged her to get up and attend class. She refused. He then lashed out at her and said that she did not deserve the grade she received on Saturday (for finishing 3rd in the duet competition).

The apparently iniquitous Inaki reentered the picture by going to Monet as the web site states to clarify the Laarni matter and he went on to tell Monet how Laarni was conducting herself in a hysterical manner in the middle of the night. That raises the question how is he so well informed on what goes on in the girls bedroom when he is supposed to be in the men's quarters?

Laarni has been on her own since she was 15 and without a normal support system. What she has to endure in the competition is a constant beating down from all sides. She feels alienated and is lashing out. She is not receiving the credit that she deserves and its apparent that others with less talent are being praised. From the beginning she has been criticized by her housemates who were originally critical of her hygiene.

What's sad about this subject is that this TV series is supposed to be about discovering and developing vocal talent. What's it's turned out to be is a soap opera. Those that made the choices of including individuals with no singing talent has resulted in resentment and is virtually turning people insane. Three have already fallen due to stress how many more will it take before the producers of the show remove those who really cause trouble such as Inaki and others who talk behind contestants backs and create disharmony.
