THE SHOCKING DEATH OF A STAR

The death of Glee star Cory Monteith on his birthday at the age of 31 has had a shocking effect to those in the shows cast and fans around the world. Monteith was known for his role as Finn Hudson on the Fox television series from 2009 until his passing. He was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. He had been scheduled to check out earlier that day, but when he failed to do so, hotel staff entered his room and discovered his body. Although Vancouver police said the cause and manner of death were not immediately apparent, foul play was ruled out. An autopsy was scheduled for July 15.

Monteith was open about his bout with drug addiction from the age of 13 that later resulted is him being involved with drug rehabilitation at the age of 19.

Monteith's publicist issued this brief statement following the police news conference, "We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss."

Also expressing condolences were the executive producers of Glee and 20th Century Fox Television said in a statement, "Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously."

Monteith was in a relationship with his Glee co-star, American actress Lea Michele, until his death. On March 31, 2013, the media announced that Monteith had admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction. His treatment was completed on April 26, 2013.

It was reported that he was loved and respected by members of the cast who have nothing but good things to say about the actor. Glee's casting director said that when Montieth auditioned for the part he couldn't sing. He learned throughout the process and emerged as a major star of the show.

APPRENTICE ASIA FINAL 4

It's down to the final four contestants that will be vying for the shows title to be host Tony Fernandes' apprentice. For those that don't know Fernandes if the founder of Air Asia and the owner of the English football club Queens Parks Rangers who were demoted this past season from the English Premiere League.

Only one girl has survived the contest. She is a 25-year-old lawyer from Singapore who we feel is the strongest contender in the competition. She is all business, intelligent and strong willed which is a concern of Fernandes who feels her personality might be too strong and resented by some of his employees.

The other three contestants represent India, the Philippines and China. China's representative is actually European though his heritage is not revealed but his accent is similar to someone from Germany or Russia. This week two of the four will be eliminated.

The show airs on the AXN Wednesday nights with reruns throughout the week.
