DAVID FOSTER & FRIENDS IS A MUST WATCH

Yo!!! TUNE IN TONIGHT Sunday March 22nd for composer David Foster & Friends special TV show on the Star World channel at 9:30 PM Singapore/Hong Kong time and 8:30 Thailand/Cambodia time. It features singers Foster has worked with in his career and they are all major talent.

SOMETHING'S BURNING - WHAT'S UP AMERICAN IDOL?

HHas American Idol judge Paula Abdul lost the plot? This past week Abdul made an absurd suggestion to Scott MacIntyre that he shouldn't play his piano because it was beginning to be a crutch for him. She also wanted him to get closer to the audience and perform. He replied, "We could move it (the piano) closer."

That drew some laughter from the crowd but Simon Cowell told Abdul that her suggestion was ridiculous, "What do you want him to do," he asked. He went on to point out that Elton John performs while playing piano. Paula picked up the pace by adding Billy Joel also sang while playing piano. After she dug her grave deeper our question is Paula what are you drinking from that red cup on the judge's desk?

Her suggestion was so out of line you wonder what she uses for brains. The main difference between the three pianist/singers is that Elton and Billy Joel can SEE MacIntyre can not HE IS BLIND.

When the show opens and the talent enters the stage he is led by someone so he can find his way. Sometimes when they walk out in a line he has his hand on someone's shoulder so he can follow.

The other outrages point that counters Abdul's remark is that when a performer works (performs) to and audience one of the keys that makes the performance work is EYE CONTACT. Paula… please think before you talk.

The other AI news is there was no grace for Alexis Grace who the judges failed to save and was eliminated. She also failed to make the Top 10 contestants that will participate in the American Idol tour this summer. Grace performed well enough to go through but America voted (as they [AI] say) and she was sent on her way home. Michael Sarver was our choice to be eliminated but survived by being next to last.

Grace's departure presents an unusual American Idol predicament. There are now seven males and three females remaining in the competition with one of the best voices in the contest Allison Iraheta being on the bottom three last week. The judges continue to overate the weak talent of Megan Joy Corkery who is now introduced as Megan Joy. It's as if someone at 19 Management. is busy at work trying to build an image for her. Our impression is that she's being groomed to be in the Top 5 or for that matter to win it all. The judge's overdone compliments towards her suggest SOMETHING'S BURNING AND SOMETHING'S UP.

When American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi recently said on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno show that she liked Megan Corkery. Cowell has expressed numerous times that Corkrey is one of his favorites. These types of endorsements should never be made by an American Idol judge. It should be in the AI bylaws. The way things are developing it not only sends up RED FLAGS but we are willing to bet that Megan Joy Corkery will be the one who the judges SAVE when they apply the SAVE RULE. Agree or not? Stay tuned....

NOTES

The most improved this past week were Kris Allen and Anoop Desai. Cowell remarked about Desai that he went from zero (the previous week) to hero. Allen showed that he has a voice that has hit potential. MacIntyre was the sacrificial lamb. Abdul's comments out-of-the-way the judges went overboard critiquing him. They seemed as though they couldn't run out of negative things to say but fortunately the voters disagreed.

The Final 10 are: (Females In Red)

Kris Allen, 23 (born June 21, 1985) from Conway, Arkansas - a college student who auditioned in Louisville, Kentucky. He's best known for his group performance of "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 during Hollywood week with a group called White Chocolate. "Man in the Mirror" (Michael Jackson)
