THE VOICE GAINS MORE RESPECT

The Blue Eyed soul genre was the big winner on The Voice when soul singer Josh Kaufman won The Voice title. The win makes it the first time that coach/judge Usher won the title as a coach and the first time in the shows six season history that a judge other than Blake Shelton or Adam Levine was the winning coach.

Kaufman was a four chair turnaround during the blind auditions. He then chose Adam Levine to be his coach but Levine later made a bad decision placing Kaufman against soul singer Delvin Choice during the battle rounds. The battle round is when a coach makes a decision who they want to be on their team.

Levine chose Choice and has been regretful about his poor decision ever since. Usher was quick to save Kaufman which as it turns out is one of the best decisions in the shows history. After Usher took the reigns he gave Kaufman good advice and great song selections that was key in enabling them to become the winning team.

With Kaufman's win it authenticates that the contest has a more astute caliber of voting audience than American Idol. To augment that thought we remain convinced that the Idol results are manipulated and fixed.

Shelton's country singer Jake Worthington finished second and Levine's Christina Grimmie finished third. All will go on The Voice Tour this summer.

The finale of The Voice program aired Monday and Tuesday in America BUT viewers in the Asian Pacific region can catch the results show tonight Thursday May 22 on the AXN channel. The performance show aired in the region last night but repeats throughout the week will be forthcoming for both programs.

While American Idol repeatedly selects talent that fade into the entertainment background The Voice is gaining prominence by choosing more talented competitors in their pre show selection process. The Voice judges provide a higher quality of critique and are not as long winded as the Idol judges resulting in a more tasteful and mature show.

The Voice's final performance program was far superior to Idol's. With The Voice pitting three contestants against each other makes more interesting viewing than Idol's TOP 2 and dull finale. In summary American Idol is experiencing a death wish. There could be some redemption as this season Idol got it right as rocker Caleb Johnson was the best of their bunch and selected the rightful winner.

The Voice results show airs tonight in the Asian region includes guest performances from Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Tim McGraw, OneRepublic, prior to the announcement of Kaufman as the winner.

ULTIMATE FIGHTER - 19 - PENN vs. EDGAR

ALSO TONIGHT!!! - If you're a fight fan a show worth watching is the new season of Ultimate Fighter. Series 19 features teams coached by former UFC champions Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn. There is some serious talent in this cycle most notably Eddie Gordan who trains with UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman. The show is televised on Fox Sports channel Thursday nights in East Asia.

Note: This past week the airing was preempted and delayed in favor of telecasting an Asian football tournament. It was televised 2 ½ hours after its normal telecast time.
