The one thing that The Voice has failed to accomplish is having a winner that has become a blockbuster recording artist. It's not about winning but the talents development after the competition such as American Idol winner Carrie Underwood has experienced or 7th place American Idol finisher Jennifer Hudson - It's not about the trip but about the journey. The question is who will make that journey to entertainment fame and fortune from The Voice? Stay tuned...

THE GAME IS ON!!!

The Voice tricked us this season from being a slow starter to become an inspirational series. Previously we mentioned that this seasons talent was not as strong as the talent in season 11 but as it turns out we got it wrong thus we are guilty with and explanation.

Last season the talents songs were stronger particularly in episode 2. The difference was as that season progressed the song choices were for the most part terrible and the talent was trying too hard and had a tendency to scream their songs. Basically they lost the plot with the exception of the winner Sundance Head who improved throughout the contest.

Forgive us lord for we are about to sin and admit that former American Idol judge Simon Cowell was right in saying it's about the song.

This season there were some surprising developments as some super talents such as Vanessa Ferguson and Hunter Plake were eliminated. The competitors that have survived to become the final four are all gifted with good voices and are very different in appearance and vocal skill.

Three chair turn around Lauren Duski has been the most consistent in her country lane vocals. She and her coach Blake Shelton have selected songs that compliment her voice. She is the most polished performer and is record label ready as well as being a poised performer.

Shelton has two contestants in the final four. The five time winner has the best chance of winning his 6th coaching title out of 12. Basically Shelton seems to have that magic touch.

This season he has produced his best work, particularly in managing the talent of 15-year-old Aliyah Moulden. From the start Shelton saw the youngster's potential as she sang Hound Dog for her blind audition. The song sucks for her but she did a commendable job and also had a three chair turn around with Adam Levine being the only judge that failed to respond.

The relationship and chemistry between Moulden and Shelton has resulted in the teenager emerging to become the most improved in the contest. Shelton has permitted her to take charge of her direction particularly since, in the knockout round, she chose to sing a country song "Before He Cheats" to impress her coach resulting in a superb performance.

Shelton didn't press on for her to continue to sing country as he did in transforming Cassadee Pope in season 3 from a pop singer to a country vocalist. The result is Pope is now has a successful country music career.

With Moulden, Shelton has taken a different path in permitting her to express herself and display her talent with the result being that she is thriving. With her cute little dimples and big eyes she has endeared the voting public throughout the season in receiving their votes to continue on to where she is now in the final four.

Shelton has instilled confidence in her and has gained her respect which has helped her thrive to be the darling of the voting public. She doesn't have the best voice but she most certainly is the most charming. Her enthusiasm and the vitality and joy she shows in her performances are enthralling.

Previously we noted that if Shelton could coach her to survive the battle round he would have proved him self worthy of being the best judge on the show. This time he has exceeded expectations and is worthy wearing the title of being THE BEST THE VOICE COACH.

Ironically with the proper management Moulden could become a strong crossover singer with a voice that could produce a hit country song. She has the potential to be a unique black country artist that would make Charlie Pride proud. It would be fitting if Shelton could work with her in producing her with a country song.

The problem is in time Shelton will have to cut her loose and she will be at the mercy of an unforgiving cutthroat business. As young as she, is she needs a fatherly type of manager to guide her and from our experience Quincy Jones is the only one that fits that bill. The problem Jones is, is up in years and might be too pooped to pop to produce and manage a promising you talent such as Moulden if he were interested.

The surprising talents this season are Jesse Larson and Chris Blue. Both are ONE chair turnarounds. Larson is Levine's last hope of notching another coaching victory to bring his total to four titles and closing in on Shelton's five. Levine's bragging rights depend on Larson's result this week from the voting public.

Larson is and excellent guitar player and a commendable vocalist. He sounds black but looks very white which makes his talent stand out. His one claim to fame is being former The Voice contestant Judith Hill's guitar player in her touring band. He is a long shot to win but it ain't over till it's over and the winner wears the crown and Larson is on it to win it.

Blue is an interesting talent. He was Alicia Key's final choice in filling her team while the other coaches had a full teams thus she won Blue by default.

Blue has made one of the most dramatic physical transformations in the competition. He had a somewhat rough appearance in his blind audition but has been slicked up by The Voice production staff as he is now wearing suits and not the hip hop hat he wore in the blinds.

Blue has also benefited from excellent stage production which also comes from the efforts of The Voice production staff.

Blue has the talent to win the competition and bring a second coaching title to a female coach since Christina Aguilera won the title in season 10 with Alisan Porter.

The one thing that The Voice has failed to accomplish is having a winner that has become a blockbuster recording artist.

It's not about winning but the talents development after the competition such as American Idol winner Carrie Underwood has experienced or 7th place American Idol finisher Jennifer Hudson who will become a judge on The Voice next season.

It's not about the trip but about the journey. The question is who will make that journey to entertainment fame and fortune? Stay tuned...
