KELLY CLARKSON SOLID JUDGE - RIVALS Shelton & Levine in PERSONALITY

The Voice continue to press the envelope as it appears each season there's a new twist to the show. Unique changes such a coaches blocking and coach/judge from selecting a talent add spice to the show.

Some recent innovations are: The Block and the Save, added in season 14, returned for the third season. The Knockouts were replaced by a new round called Live Cross Battles. Also new this season, trios were allowed onto the show.

This season the new twist is having talent that failed to be selected or were eliminated a chance to return in a comeback competition.

As usual Blake Shelton continues to reign as the best and winningest coach. The twist is since he has the most competitors remaining in the competition he has been criticized in social media. The other quirk of fate is his on the show nemesis Adam Levine had his talent was shut out in the voting process.

While Shelton apparently has good karma it appears Levine has bad karma that apparently stems from his actions in the previous season when he chose to eliminate a more talented singer in favor of a young girl who was too ill to compete.

His reasoning was he has two daughters and due to that he felt he needed keep the young girl (and eliminate the better talent). The back story to that scenario is the girl was white and the more talented competitor was and is black. Levine reaped wrath from the public.

Prior to this past weeks show Shelton ruled the top 24 by having all eight of his team voted by the public to remain in the competition. By contrast Levine only had four the lowest of all the judges

Kelly Clarkson and John Legend each had six if their team voted in to remain. Going into the Top 13 the remaining talent for each judge is Shelton (8), Legend (3), Clarkson (2), and Levine (2).

Shelton rules as being the best coach in the series. Of the 15 completed seasons he has coached six of the winners. His arch rival Levine ranks second having coached three title winners and this is where things get interesting.

Since becoming a judge two seasons ago Clarkson has won both seasons and already ranks third in the winningest judge competition. On a percentage per competition basis she ranks NUMBER ONE as being the best coach in the series. There have been 15 coaches during the completed15 seasons.

Moreover her street/country sparkling personality is a match for the comedic interactions between Shelton and Levine. She is a perfect fit for the show and should be a fixture for ALL SEASONS. The only reason she should not appear is if she prefers to go on tour or have another baby.

As the show repeatedly does, they have a bit asking all the judges to summarize in one word what the other judges represent to them. In our view the perfect word for Clarkson is MUPPET. She is so bubbly and energetic she reminds us of a MUPPET.

With Shelton having six of the final 13 remaining in the competition he has the best chance of winning another title In addition, in our opinion, he has the singer with the best voice in Gyth Rigdon another talent with a country singing style.

With that said it all gets down to… (Oh forgive me lord for I'm about to sin) what the infamous Simon Cowell says that to win it's largely abut song choice.

Last week one of the contestants sang all around the melody of 'The Girl from Ipanema' and you could hardly recognize the song. Fortunately for her Shelton saved her to compete in the Final 13.

Overall the show is getting better but the talent is not. This is one of the least talented competitors in the shows history but that is personal.

What the show has to be cognoscente of is not catching the American do disease of the show being all about the judges. The Voice seems to be going in that direction. The fix is to find more talented competitors.

During the 15 completed seasons female coaches have coached four singers to win 4 titles. In that department Clarkson's two wins is 50% the women's winnings.

With that said the show remains a worth watch and worth watching see if Clarkson can squeeze out a third consecutive win for a show record and raise the females total to five wins only one shy of tying Shelton's six.
