AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL'S NEW TWISTS

The new edition of Tyra Banks America's Next Top Model Cycle 11 has a couple of twists this season adding some spice to the program. There is an Asian contestant Sheena Sakai, 21 who looks and acts pretty hot. She lives in Harlem the black section of New York City. She talks the talk and it remains to be seen is she can walk the walk. Sheena is half Japanese and half Korean. She lived in Hawaii prior to moving to New York to pursue her modeling and recording career.

For the transgenders of the world you have someone to root for as Banks has knowingly selected a male dressed as a female. This cycle included a first for the series by having Isis King, 21 participate and qualify for the final fourteen. He is per-op and competing with his male tools still in tack which concerns other real female contestants.

Isis was an extra in a previous photo shoot made by Banks. She was impressed with the he/she's look though at the time she wasn't aware the girl was really a BOY. After finding out she still was impressed and invited to compete on the show.

Every Sunday night there is a new episode of Tyra Banks America's Next Top Model on Channel V with a repeat the following day. NOTE Channel V is also showing reruns of the Australian Top Model throughout the week. The Australian version isn't that interesting.

America's Next Top Model with Tyra Banks airs tonight night (Sunday) on Channel V at 8 PM in the Thailand/Cambodia time zone.

Ouch! No Mercy On the CELEBRITY APPRENTICE

You can be what you want but in the business word of Donald Trump but you can't be a nice person. It appears the he prefers the barracuda type with bite. Former Playboy Playmate and Miss Georgia USA 2001 Tiffany Fallon bit the dust rather than her opponents in episode one of the Celebrity Apprentice now airing in Southeast Asia. The series was televised in the USA from January 3 2008 to the finale March 27, 2008.

In a task of selling hot dogs the all girls team Empresario overwhelmingly lost to the men's team Hydra. Hydra sold $52,286 worth of hot dogs to Empresario's $17,038. But here's where the plot thickens and where business separates the men and women from the children.

Omarosa the controversial former Apprentice contestant was the ladies project manager. She shot down the idea of using their celebrity status to sell the product after it was suggested by actress Mary Lou Henner (Taxi). "I wouldn't go with that," Omarosa obstinately stated. "We have to base this project of solid business concepts."

Henner ignored Omarosa's insistence that they not use their celebrity. While on the job on the streets of New York She got on the phone and called two of her friend's who came by their stand and purchased two waters for $5,000 each. Another purchased a hot dog for $1,000. She raised $11,000 of their $17,038 total.

Actor Stephen Baldwin Hydra's project manager went along with former Kiss bassist Gene Simmons suggestion at the planning meeting to use their celebrity. Simmons followed up by getting on the phone and asked one of his friends to come by and purchase a hot dog for $10,000 for charity. He asked several others via phone wand even went to the extreme of requesting someone to get on a plane and fly to New York to do so.

In the board room when the sales results were revealed Omarosa back-stepped and said that Fallon did not use her celebrity status to induce sales and sell her sexual image from Playboy. At the same time she praised Henner who defied her and made the calls on her own without Omarosa's approval.

Fallon was fired because she didn't defend her self in the board room and let things go without pointing out the point that Omarosa insisted on a non celebrity selling strategy. Fallon also said she was waiting to call her contacts for another time and another task. Trump made the point that time waits for no one. What's the lyric of that Ronan song? 'If Tomorrow Never Comes'? (Corrections accepted)

Next week the strong minded and egotistical Simmons is the project manager. While on the job he insults Trumps daughter Ivanka. "Nobody insults my daughter," Trump said. What happens? Tune in and find out Wednesday night on the Star World channel.

The premier of the Celebrity Apprentice (U.S. season 7) airs Wednesday night at 10 PM in the Thailand/Cambodia time zone on the Star World Channel. The celebrity contestants compete for the title of Donald Trump's, "Best Business Brain," with the winner donating their proceeds to charity. The series completed its run in America after it premiered on NBC Network on January 3, 2008.

The contestants include famous talent from sports, recording artist, actress and models.

AMAZING RACE USA For the second consecutive week former NFL football player Ken Green and his wife Tina finished first on the Amazing Race USA version. Tina is tenacious in her fight to win the US $1 million prize. It is somewhat of a turnoff and their attitude is creating some resentment among the other teams in the race.

Greene was a former professional football player in America's NFL (National Football League). He played safety for the St. Louis Cardinals (1978-1982) and the San Diego Chargers (1983-1984). He was born in Lewiston, Idaho, U.S. and attended Washington State University. In the 1978 NFL draft he was a first round draft pick (19th overall).

A new episode is televised Monday night on the AXN Network. There are several repeats throughout the week. Please note schedule below.

The producers of the Amazing Race Asia are now in a position of making the choice of who will be in the final three to compete for the US $100 thousand prize. Of the 10 teams five were eliminated during the first five shows with 11 episodes scheduled. That gave the producers three free NON ELIMINATION passes for those they prefer to be in the finals. That leverage and the operative words stated by the host Alan Wu prior to each leg is MAY be eliminated or WILL be eliminated now carry a greater magnitude. They are now in the MAY faze. Five teams and five shows remain thus two NON ELIMINATION passes are still available.

In the most recent episode Malaysians Ida Nerina and Tania Khan were the first to be granted a free pass. Though they come off as a high and mighty team who project a condescending attitude their celebrity and wealthy status may make them one of the producer's favorites. We inferred favoritism when they announced the contestants before the race began.

Of the five remaining teams we feel Ida and Tania's attitude make them unworthy for the final three but…. that's our opinion. Decide for yourself as the show airs its new episode on Thursday night with several repeats throughout the week. Please note the schedule below.

The Hong Kong team of Vince Chung and Sam Wu finished first for the second consecutive leg. They had an advantage since the race went to Hong Kong. They know the city and speak Chinese.

Our favorites Singaporeans Fuzzie and AD finished fourth of the five finishers in the last leg. They are the team which provides the laughs in the show. Fuzzie struggles with her weight and AD hangs in with her and moves at Fuzzie's pace. The most remarkable thing about watching them is AD is an avid chewing gum chewer. When I was last in Singapore chewing gum could get you a jail sentence. Since the race started AD has chewed enough gum to receive a LIFE SENTENCE.

THE BEST OF SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

The Best of Saturday Night Live in America continues to be popular. Currently US presidential candidate Sarah Palin is giving actress Tina Fey of 30 Rock fame who Palin on the show in the US plenty of material to work with.

Saturday Night Live has been a hit in America since its first telecast 34 years ago October 11, 1975. It has spawned numerous comedians to prominence including Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, Bill Murray, Billy Crystal, Dan Aykroyd, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, and many other great comedians made their claim to fame. Morgan is also featured on 30 Rock.

The first run telecasts of the US version of SNL aren't available in Southeast Asia but 30 Rock is. The equation being that regional viewers who are familiar with Fey and 30 Rock have an opportunity to view what SNL is all about as The Best of Saturday Night Live will have its season premiere tonight (October 11) at 8 PM in the Thailand/Cambodia time zone on the Star World channel.

Saturday Night Live: The Complete First Season was released on DVD, in the UK, by Universal Studios on December 5, 2006. Upon the set’s release, some criticism of its authenticity as complete and uncut arose from reviewers and fans. This was due to the existence of original live copies, which in comparison to the "complete" episodes reveal edits and omissions which are common among the rerun versions of the shows in the set. The complete second season was released in the US on DVD on December 4, 2007 and the third season on May 13, 2008.

In addition to the full season releases, there have been multiple releases both on VHS and DVD featuring the "Best Of" former cast members and guest hosts in addition to documentaries, musical performances and themed compilations of sketches as well as a release of the show's 25 year anniversary.

The Best of Saturday Night Live is televised Saturday nights in Southeast Asia on the Star World Channel.
