ANOTHER FEMALE BITES CELEBRITY APPRENTICE DUST

When it comes to the boys verses the girls the boys have won the two competitions between Empresario (the girls) and Hydra (the boys). Former Kiss band member and bassist Gene Simmons was a major player in the win as he took on the Project Managers job. In doing so he permitted actor Steven Baldwin to direct a dog food commercial featuring former heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis who co-starred with a black and white bull dog. The result was… IT WAS GREAT. But here's the diff...

But here's the diff. Simmons and Baldwin took the bull by the horns and pretty much did all of the work themselves much to the displeasure of UFC fighter Tito Ruiz who expressed his displeasure vocally and physically by showing up in the editing room with the team UNINVITED. He felt that if he had neither say in decision making nor an opinion of the work that it was unfair to the rest of the team since one of them could be FIRED.

The reality is for those who aren't familiar with video production too many cooks spoil the broth and given their time limitations Simmons and Baldwin made the right decision. In editing focus and concentration are necessary. Conversation, distractions and too many opinions just won't work it will only cause confusion, delays and poor results. Simmons and Baldwin are thoroughly experienced in the video editing room with both having extensive backgrounds in the industry.

Simmons is a tough individual to deal with but give him his props he knows what he's doing and that is one reason he's a millionaire. Quite frankly I'm not a Simmons fan. I hate his TV show Gene Simmons and his Family Jewels but on this project he let Baldwin do his thing and that proved to be the correct decision as the advertiser loved it and put it on the air almost immediately.

As for the girls actress Mary Lou Henner had the most to do with the production but the Project manager was Nely Galán a television executive. Their commercial was good but not as spectacular as the ad Baldwin and Simmons put together. Ortiz didn't see it until the presentation in the board room with Donald Trump and the products advertising boss. The former UFC champ was very impressed.

Former Olympic champion Nadia Comaneci took the hit and was fired because she didn't show leadership abilities concerning other people. Trump said she is a great leader of herself but not a team.

Last week we the viewers were teased about what was to take place in the most recent episode with Simmons being accused of insulting Trumps daughter Ivanka. The result this week was Simmons apologized and all was forgiven. Forgotten? Well that will have to play itself out. But listen up… tune in this week because it will be Simmons last in a shocking development a course of events. Simmons bragged that he would even fire Trump but the point being he isn't in the position to do so.

The question is with Simmons heading out the door will Trump be singing, 'Hit The Road Jack and Don't you Come Back No More, No More No, More No More.'

A new episode airs Wednesday night on the Star World Channel.

As the episodes wind down the heat is on for the remaining five teams on the Amazing Race Asia. Tension is building between Malaysian team Bernie and Henry vs. Geoff and Tish from the Philippines. Geoff and Tish gave Berine and Henry a yield requiring them to wait for the sand in an hour glass to drain down to the bottom.

That incident evolved into more tense feelings between the teams prompting Henry to say, "Being yielded by him (Geoff) really hurts because he's fake." When Henry and his sister Bernie caught up with Geoff and Tisha at the next task to climb to the top of a tower Henry looked at Geoff and then into the camera as said about the Filipino, "Scum." He also sat far away from Tisha as Geoff went on to do the task and looked into the camera and said, "I made a conscious effort to stay away from her, she knows (he's angry)."

Surprisingly the Hong Kong team of Vince and Sam was happy that Geoff and Tish yielded the Malaysians. That was astonishing since they never indicated a dislike for them or any other team on previous shows.

Singapore's Fuzzie had to put her strength and endurance to the test as she volunteered to climb the tower. She carry's a lot of weight but was willing but not so able. Bernie who was trailing her in the race caught up and passed her on the tower stars to climb the top of tower while Fuzzie rested. Then a divine intervention occurred… LIGHTNING.

Her beloved long time friend A.D. was worried as thunder boomed in the background and her eyes bugged out. At this point we are worried about A.D. as for the first time during the race she is NOT CHEWING GUM. We miss her gum chewing as it adds spice to the program.

The task was called off for safety reasons and Fuzzie didn't have to continue to climb the tower. She was relived and said, "Fuzzie doesn't do physical stuff."

The much disliked Tish and Geoff were the first team to reach the pit stop. As the largely rude and antagonistic Geoff proudly stated during this leg of the race, "I'm sorry to be so annoying but I was born that way."

Though they finished last for the second consecutive week the Malaysian team of Ida and Tania were given another free pass to continue the race when shows host Alan Wu said "This is a predetermined NON EMILIMINTION leg of the race."

It raises the question who do the producers want to be in the finals with only three of the remaining five teams qualified to compete for the US $100 thousand prize. With four episodes remaining there is one more free pass available and two teams to be eliminated.

AMAZING RACE USA For the third consecutive week former NFL football player Ken Green and his wife Tina finished first on the Amazing Race USA version. Tina is tenacious in her fight to win the US $1 million prize. It is somewhat of a turnoff and their attitude is creating some resentment among the other teams in the race.

Greene was a former professional football player in America's NFL (National Football League). He played safety for the St. Louis Cardinals (1978-1982) and the San Diego Chargers (1983-1984). He was born in Lewiston, Idaho, U.S. and attended Washington State University. In the 1978 NFL draft he was a first round draft pick (19th overall).

A new episode is televised Monday night on the AXN Network. There are several repeats throughout the week. Please note schedule below.

MISSING PERSONS is an interesting show on the Australia Network. A new episode is presented Thursday nights. The program consists of real life investigations in finding missing persons. During one episode they search for several individuals. What makes this show a bit more interesting is they follow an individual and before finding them they cut to another. They eventually return to the first person searched for. This interlacing of cases prevents boredom as a viewer may be interested in one case over the other and will stay with the program until they find out if the person is found or not. A read on the Australian culture and how they think is another interesting aspect of the program. On a five star rating we rate this as a 3 star *** as a must watch.

The Best of Saturday Night Live in America continues to be popular. Currently US presidential candidate Sarah Palin is giving actress Tina Fey of 30 Rock fame who Palin on the show in the US plenty of material to work with.

Saturday Night Live has been a hit in America since its first telecast 34 years ago October 11, 1975. It has spawned numerous comedians to prominence including Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, Bill Murray, Billy Crystal, Dan Aykroyd, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, and many other great comedians made their claim to fame. Morgan is also featured on 30 Rock.

The first run telecasts of the US version of SNL aren't available in Southeast Asia but 30 Rock is. The equation being that regional viewers who are familiar with Fey and 30 Rock have an opportunity to view what SNL is all about as The Best of Saturday Night Live will have its season premiere tonight (October 11) at 8 PM in the Thailand/Cambodia time zone on the Star World channel.

Saturday Night Live: The Complete First Season was released on DVD, in the UK, by Universal Studios on December 5, 2006. Upon the set’s release, some criticism of its authenticity as complete and uncut arose from reviewers and fans. This was due to the existence of original live copies, which in comparison to the "complete" episodes reveal edits and omissions which are common among the rerun versions of the shows in the set. The complete second season was released in the US on DVD on December 4, 2007 and the third season on May 13, 2008.

In addition to the full season releases, there have been multiple releases both on VHS and DVD featuring the "Best Of" former cast members and guest hosts in addition to documentaries, musical performances and themed compilations of sketches as well as a release of the show's 25 year anniversary.

The Best of Saturday Night Live is televised Saturday nights in Southeast Asia on the Star World Channel.
